| "She hasn't taken it well" |
and Ieuan knows she has not taken it very well.
![]() |
| "And she and Rhys have fallen out" |
“It doesn’t help that she and Rhys have fallen out,” but Ieuan points out that it is a little bit more than that and wonders what on earth came over him. “Right, I suppose there’s no point asking you to talk to her to ask her to forgive Rhys,” concludes Hywel.
![]() |
| "Why on earth would I do that?" |
“Why on earth would I do that?” Hywel maintain that Rhys is in a very bad place. “As are we all!” his brother answers, as he goes to answer another knock on the door.

| "Why doesn't she want to see it?" |
Howard cannot understand why she does not want to see where she will be living; “If I was a tenant of somewhere, I’d want to see it.

| "Me? To lead the whole thing?" |

Indeg says that she is equally gutted. “And why didn’t she tell me herself?”
Indeg points out that she left in rather a hurry.

| "I promised she could keep the takings" |
“And I promised her that she could keep the takings,” Kath goes on, which quickly changes Indeg’s attitude.
![]() |
| "Perhaps I could help" |
“Perhaps I could help you to look for someone else,” she volunteers, but Kath snarls that not everyone can read Tarot cards.

In walks Dorian, who says that it is a nice surprise to see her and is followed by Howard.
![]() |
| "I want my rent!" |
She comes straight to the point, “I want my rent! It’s late.”
![]() |
| "There are a couple of jobs that need doing" |
Dorian tries to argue that there are a couple of jobs that need doing and that tenancy works both ways.
![]() |
| "I'm not here to bargain!" |
However, this does nothing to change Eileen’s attitude; “I’m not here to bargain – I want my rent!”
![]() |
| "It's like a pigsty in here!" |
Dorian gets out his phone, as she continues, “And you need to tidy up a little bit – it’s like a pigsty in here.”
![]() |
| Howard objects to this |
“That’s what living with Howard is like,” Dorian jokes
![]() |
| "All right, Eileen?" |
and then shows Eileen the phone screen to indicate that the money has been paid.
![]() |
| "I want it on time next month!" |

![]() |
| "Can't you ask Mags for it?" |
“Can’t you ask Mags for it? Why not? You must have money coming in to Glan Rhedyn.” Dorian says that he cannot, so Howard wonders what is going on;
![]() |
| "Why hasn't she come here?" |
“Why can’t Mags pass money on and why hasn’t she come here?”
![]() |
| "She doesn't know I've signed the tenancy" |
“Because she doesn’t know I’ve signed a tenancy contract for Penrhewl!”
![]() |
| "Euros Coogan, please" |
Colin is doing some detective work; “Hello, could you put me through to Euros Coogan, please?” he asks.
![]() |

An autumn fair poster has been put up in Tamed
![]() |
| "Anita hasn't been buried yet" |
and Eileen comments to Kath, “I thought that perhaps you would have cancelled. Anita hasn’t been buried yet.”
![]() |
| "She will be with us in spirit" |
Kath is confident that Anita will be with them in spirit, but Eileen is cynical about that.
![]() |
| "That's a bit insensitive" |
“Is that what these Tarot cards are? Talking to the dead? That’s a bit insensitive, Kath.”
She is told that she knows very well that is not what they do,
![]() |
| "You're the one inviting ghosts inept your home" |
but continues, “You’re the one inviting ghosts into your home.”
![]() |
| "I'm moving out" |
“They’re welcome to come – I’m moving out,” says Kath.
“Oh yes, the palace on the hill – best of luck with that.” Outside, we can see that Siôn is looking at the poster,
![]() |
| "That place will be a magnet for Hywel's burglar" |
while Eileen adds, “That place will be a magnet for Hywel Llywelyn’s burglar.”
![]() |
| "I can't wait for the autumn fair" |
Siôn comes in, commenting that he cannot wait for the autumn fair; Eileen says that she regards it as rather insensitive, with the funeral approaching.
![]() |
| "Best of luck with the funeral, John" |
Kath sees the opportunity for some stirring and relates, “Do you know what? The best of luck with that, John.”
![]() |
| "I shall be taking the funeral" |
As Eileen is looking puzzled, he explains that he will be taking the funeral.
“Didn’t you know, Eileen?” asks Kath, “It makes sense, doesn’t it?

| "They used to be partners, didn't they?" |
“They used to be partners, didn’t they?”
![]() |
| "Why did you agree" |

![]() |
| "Refusing would be insensitive" |

![]() |
| Howard is hard at work |
On the farm, Howard is strenuously installing a fence post when Dorian approaches,
![]() |
| "That ram needs to be happy" |
telling him to go and have a look at the top field; “That ram needs to be happy or Santa won’t have anything in his sack.”
![]() |
| "When am I getting my money?" |
Howard is still interested in demanding when he will get his money; “I’ve been thinking about that,” says Dorian,
![]() |
| "You know that potato patch?" |
“You know that potato patch – why don’t we lift them all and sell them?”
![]() |
| "Eileen owns them" |
Howard replies, “One – they’re worth about £20 and, two – Eileen owns them.”
![]() |
| "Why do you throw cold water over everything?" |
Dorian accuses him of throwing cold water over everything.
“Hey, you need to talk to Mags and to tell her the truth,” insists Howard.
![]() |
| "Mags will come round" |
Dorian answers that Mags will come round – he knows her.
![]() |
| "She'll go bonkers!" |
“So do I,” shouts Howard, “She’ll go bonkers when she finds out she’s a tenant of a farm.” Dorian is still convinced that she will fall in love with the place, so Howard simply walks away.
![]() |
| "Oi, I want a word with you!" |
Indeg has gone to number 21, where she tells Rhys, “Oi, I want a word with you!”
![]() |
| "What have I done to you?" |
“Why – what have I done to you?” he groans and she points out that she is talking about Siwsi,
![]() |
| "I've lost my best friend" |
complaining that she has lost her best friend, thanks to him.
“I’m not in the mood for a lecture,” he says.
![]() |
| "She's left the village because of you" |
“You deserve one – she’s left the village because of you – I want to know what you did to upset her – I know you had a ‘thing’.”
![]() |
| "Kelly's finished with me" |
He is really sorry that Siwsi has gone and that she has lost her best friend, but he has got a lot more important things to worry about; “Kelly’s finished with me.”
![]() |
| "Oh" |
At this, Indeg calms down somewhat
![]() |
| "I'd like to be left alone" |
and he tell her that if she does not mind, he would like to be left alone. “You’re not doing yourself any favours moping around the place.
![]() |
| "You need a night out" |
“Do you know what you need? A night out,”she proposes.
He is adamant that he is not going anywhere, but she informs him that she has just sorted out a cash flow problem and wants to celebrate; “I’ve got no-one to go out – with thanks to you.
![]() |
| "Cocktails and shots" |
“Come on, a night of cocktails and shots –
![]() |
| "I bet I've got something that will cheer you up" |
“I bet I’ve got something that will cheer you up – something to make you forget about your problems.”
![]() |
| "No, thanks' |
He still refuses the offer, although she insists that he really needs to enjoy himself.
![]() |
| "I just saw Kelly . . ." |
Then Hywel comes back into the house; “Listen, Rhys, I just saw Kelly –
![]() |
| ". . . do you need to talk?" |
“do you want to talk?”
![]() |
| "I can't – I'm going out' |
In a very abrupt change of mind, Rhys says that he cannot as he is going out with Indeg.
![]() |
| "Is that a good idea?" |
“Do you think that’s a good idea?” his father asks, but Indeg considers that Rhys needs to unwind.
![]() |
| "He needs to think" |
“He needs to think,” insists Hywel, but Rhys says that there is no point sitting there, moping;
![]() |
| "Look, I'm going out" |
he is instead going out. He is warned to be careful.
![]() |
| "Right, ready for a laugh?" |
“Right, ready for a laugh?” asks Indeg.
![]() |
| "So you think she's been lying?" |
Having been told the story, Siôn comments, “So you think she’s lying about these history lessons?”
Colin reports that she does have a tutor, but she does not have a lesson today. “And you’re worried that she’s enquiring about surgery?”
![]() |
| 'I don't know why else she would be lying" |
Colin does not know why else she would be lying. “Considering what you said about Turkey,” Siôn goes on, and, at that moment, none other than Lleucu walks in through the door.
![]() |
| "You promised, Colin" |
“You promised,” she reminds Colin,
![]() |
| "I had to, love" |
but he protests that he had to, because he was worried.
![]() |
| "I told you that was behind me – and I meant it!" |
“I told you that was behind me – and I meant it!” she stresses, so Colin asks where she was today.
“You doubt every word I say,” she begins,
![]() |
| "Where did you go, then?" |
but Siôn also wants to know where she went.
![]() |
| "An admissions exam – for Oxford" |
Taking a deep breath, she replies, “I was taking an exam, an admissions exam, before making a university application. I want to study law at Oxford – happy now?”
![]() |
| They are both lost for words |
Colin and Siôn look incredulously at each other as she walks out again.
![]() |
| Kelly has been baking |
Kelly brings a slice of cake to Ieuan;
![]() |
| "It's just not the same" |
“I’ve followed Auntie Neet’s carrot cake recipé to a tee, but it’s just not the same,” she sighs,
![]() |
| "That's not bad" |
although he pronounces it to be ‘not bad’.
![]() |
| "Not good enough for the funeral" |
“Not good enough for the funeral,” she tells him,
![]() |
| "We could ask someone other than Siôn, you know" |
“We could ask someone apart from Siôn, you know,” but Ieuan reminds her that was what Anita wanted.
![]() |
| "Dirty tricks with Morawel" |
“But she wrote that before we found out about his dirty tricks with Morawel. Perhaps if she knew that she would not want him,” Kelly suggests.
![]() |
| "There was plenty pf history between them" |
However Ieuan says that there was plenty of history between them and that they were partners.
![]() |
| "Fraud is something else" |
“A jilted lover is one thing – but fraud?” she goes on, “That’s something else.”
![]() |
| "Anita would forgive him" |
He cannot imagine Anita refusing to forgive Siôn for that;
![]() |
| "I don't know" |
Kelly just does not know, but supposes that would be the case.
![]() |
| "It's easier not to hold a grudge" |
He recommends that it is easier to look to the future and not hold a grudge.
![]() |
| "I could throttle Rhys for what he did . . . |
“What are you trying to say, Ieuan?” He agrees that he could throttle Rhys for what he did to her.
![]() |
| ". . . but wended everyone to be supportive . . ." |
“But we have a difficult time ahead of us and need everyone to be supportive –
![]() |
| ". . . even Siôn White" |
“even Siôn White.”
![]() |
| He leans his head on Kelly's shoulder |
He leans his head on her shoulder.
![]() |
| Rhys is back home |
Hywel is sitting on the sofa, looking at his phone, when Rhys returns to the house;
“Are you still up?” he laughs, “What are you doing? Keeping an eye out for the burglar?”
![]() |
| 'I'm glad you think that's funny" |
Hywel is glad that he thinks that is funny. “Is there a problem?” demands Rhys.
![]() |
| "What's wrong with you?" |
“What’s wrong with you – throwing everything away like that?”
![]() |
| "And you've never cheated?' |
“And you’ve never cheated?” Rhys sneers.
![]() |
| "You were in pieces this morning" |
His father reminds him that he was in pieces this morning;
![]() |
| "It's great what a night out can do" |
Rhys responds that it is great what a night out can do, as he goes to the fridge to take out a can.
![]() |
| "Have you taken anything?" |
“Have you taken anything tonight?” Hywel demands
“Is that why you’re still up?
![]() |
| "Checking up on me?" |
“Checking up on me as if I was 15 years old? Not that you were around when I was 15 years old. You’re tragic!”
![]() |
| "I'm not the one who got caught" |
“I’m not the one who got caught by my girlfriend, snogging someone else!”
Rhys maintains that it is a bit late to play the saint; “Do you know what?
![]() |
| "It's none of your business' |
“It isn’t any of your business – or anyone else’s – what I do on a night out!
![]() |
