Kelly is asleep

In the hospital, Kelly is asleep with her head on Rhys’ lap, when Ieuan approaches,

"Anita is not sleeping a wink"

advising, “Anita is not sleeping a wink on that ward, with the beeping over there and the snoring over here.”

"She needs to rest"

Kelly appreciates that Anita needs a rest to fight this chest infection and Rhys maintain that they all need a rest,

"Why don't you go home?"

so Ieuan suggests that they could go home while the doctors do their rounds.

"Auntie Neet wants to tell me something"

Kelly flatly refuses to go anywhere;  “Auntie Neet wants to tell me something.”   Ieuan does not think that she will get much sense out of Anita, and Rhys says that she is delirious from the lack of sleep, like the rest of them.

"It's not about you, Rhys!"

“It’s not about you, Rhys!” snaps Kelly.   Ieuan is going to request a private room again.   “Perhaps it’s something to do with the power cut,” muses Kelly,

"Anita's not making much sense"

but Rhys adds that Anita is not making much sense.

"If it's important to Auntie Neet . . ."

“If it’s important to Auntie Neet, then it’s important to me,” Kelly replies, “Seriously, Rhys, what part of that do you still not understand?”

"I've had enough"

He gets up and walks towards the door, telling her that he has had enough.

Lleucu has returned

Round the corner by MFC comes Lleucu, back from exotic climes;  Colin emerges from the door of the shop and is delighted to see her.

"I've just got off the bus"

“I just got off the bus from London after an overnight flight,” she tells him,

"You must be shattered"

so he realises that she must be shattered.   She says that she has a date with her bed, but fancies a pumpkin spice latté from Tamed first.

"I can't join you at the moment"

Colin cannot join her at the moment, but she says that she wants all the gossip, starting with Thailand.

"It's not right!"
At Y Felin, Indeg insists, “It’s not right that Eleri is blaming you – you were trying to help.”   Siwsi concedes that if the fire caused Anita to get ill,

"I might never work again"
she might never work in the care sector again.

"She's the one who shouldn't!

“She’s the one who should never work in the care sector again – she’s blackmailing you to keep quiet about the fire – it’s absolutely criminal!   She’s trying to hide the fact that Jinx brought the fire over – she’s not fit to be in charge and she shouldn’t have left you alone!”

"I can't anything"

Siwsi is resigned to the fact that she can do nothing about it, but Indeg suggests that she could ring her grandfather and explain everything.   Siwsi forbids this, fearing that she could lose her job,

"It's not right!"

but Indeg is adamant, “It’s not right that she’s threatening to destroy your career!”

Siwsi leaves the house

Siwsi picks up her coat and leaves the house without a further word.

"You're spoiling me, Diane"

At Bryntirion, Diane brings Dai another cup of tea and hands him his stick;  “You’re spoiling me, Diane,” he tells her.

"You're used to waiter serve at Brynawelon

“You’re used to waiter service at Brynawelon, aren’t you?” she replies.   He makes it very clear that nobody makes a cup of tea like Diane.

"How much I've missed this"

Then he picks up the remote and points it at the television, remarking, “You can’t imagine how much I missed this.   In Brynawelon, everyone has to watch the same thing from morning until night.   Quiz after quiz.”

"You usually enjoy a quiz"

Diane comments that he usually enjoys a quiz.   “Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a quiz,

"Not when I'm sat next to Jean!"

“but not when I’m sat next to Jean.”

"You don't know the answers"
Diane assumes that he does not know the answers, but he points out,

"She thinks she knows all the answers"

“Because Jean ‘custard cream’ thinks she knows all the answers – and she insists that she’s right even when she’s wrong.   I didn’t think I’d see these slippers again.”

"They've almost gone in the bin several times"

“They’ve almost gone in the bin several times,” Diane warns him,

"When the electric's back on"

so he says that he will take them back to Brynawelon with him once the electric is back on.

"It's been on for ages"

“The electric has been on for ages, Dai!”   He greets the news with surprise and adds that Diane ought to have seen who came out to try and fix the generator.

"That Rhys has no idea!"

“That Rhys has no idea.   He was trying to be a knight in shining armour – just like his father, a real busybody!”

Diane informed him that something must have worked so he can go back tonight.   He looks rather downhearted at this prospect.

Siwsi has gone to see Rhys

Siwsi has gone to number 21 and Rhys runs across the road toward her, wondering what she is doing there.   “Checking on things, as you’re not replying to my messages.”

"I couldn't reply in front of Kelly"

He maintains that it was not safe to reply in front of Kelly and informs her that Anita has woken up.

"She wants to say something to Kelly"

“She insists that she wants to say something to Kelly, but I don’t know what.   Griffiths thought it was the dementia, so we’re all right.”

"It doesn't sound all right"

This does not sound all right to Siwsi;  she wonders why he is not keeping an eye on them.

"I've been up all night already"

“Because I’ve been up all night already!” he snarls.   Siwsi predicts that this will be a disaster if it comes out, so he reminds her that Anita does not talk sense half the time, so as long as Siwsi  does not say anything, he is confident that they will be all right.

"How's Anita?"
Hywel comes out of the front door and asks about Anita,

Rhys pushes into the house . . .

but Rhys simply pushes his way inside and shuts the door behind him.

. . . while Siwsi walks away

Siwsi turns and walks away.

"Anyone home?"

Lleucu arrives back at Y Felin, where Indeg is overjoyed to see her,

"You're absolutely glowing!"

describing her as, “Absolutely glowing!”

Lleucu maintain that the bags under her eyes are almost as heavier as the bags she is carrying,

"Yeah, they are heavy"

which Indeg discovers are pretty heavy.

"I heard about Anita"

“I heard about Anita,” she goes on

"I have to phone Tycs"

and Indeg says that reminds her that she should phone her grandfather.

"Can you phone me back, please?"

When she has returned upstairs, Lleucu takes out her phone and makes a call;  “I booked an appointment with you while I was overseas – can you phone me back please?   I’m a little bit nervous before coming in this afternoon.”

She is anxious

She does appear to be anxious.

Siwsi is at the hospital

Siwsi arrives at the hospital after leaving the house;  Anita has woken up and Ieuan thanks her for coming over,

"Representing Brynawelon neglect, are you?"

but Kelly sneers, “You’re representing Brynawelon neglect today, are you?”

"I'm trying to help"

Siwsi stresses that she is only there to try to help, which Kelly describes as, “A guilty conscience.”

“Eleri was at a conference, there was nothing else I could do, I promise.”

"Why are you acting so shifty, then?"

Kelly wonders why she is acting in a shifty manner in that case.

Anita gasps for breath
Anita begins gasping for breath and is given a glass of water.

"You wanted to tell me something"

“Listen, Auntie Neet, do you remember you wanted to tell me something?   Something important?   Something about Brynawelon, perhaps?”

"You were at Brynawelon"
Anita looks across at Siwsi;  “You were there – at Brynawelon –

"You saved me – thank you"

“you saved me, thank you,” then she begins gasping for breath again.

They have received the results

A nurse comes in and advises they have received the results of Anita’s chest x-ray;  she would like to have a chat with them.

"We need to find out the cause"

Kelly agrees that they need to find out the cause of this, then she and Ieuan leave the room.

Siwsi sits with Anita

Siwsi sits down by Anita.

"I'm proud of you"

At number 21, Hywel remarks, “I’m proud of you, supporting Kelly through all this.”

"Everything I say or do is wrong"

Rhys groans, “I don’t know what to say or do, Dad – and everything I say or do is wrong, anyway.”

"Do you want to go to the hospital later?"

His father asks if he wants to go to the hospital with him later, but he says he needs to go to the brewery.

"I've goths lot of paperwork to do"

He will not be opening up but has a lot of paperwork to do,

"I could do with some peace"

“And, if I’m honest, I could do with some peace.   I’ll come up later, all right?”

"It can bring out the worst in us"

Hywel appreciates that lack of sleep and strain can bring out the worst in us – “And we’ve all taken it out on those closest to us at times.”
"You talk sense, sometimes"

Rhys says that his father talks sense, sometimes.

"Aspiration Pneumonia"

Siwsi is still sitting by Anita’s bedside when they return to the room;  Kelly reveals that it is Aspiration Pneumonia, according to the doctor

"That's not good"

and Siwsi appreciates that is not good.

"It's not your fault"

“It’s not your fault – Eleri and the management at Brynawelon neglected her.   They should have procedures in place to contact the family in case of an emergency.   You shouldn’t have had to do everything.   You’re amazing with Auntie Neet – with all of us, actually –

"I'm sorry"

“and I know that you would have done everything in your power to help her – so I’m sorry.”
"I know you're under strain`'

Siwsi knows that she is under strain and that there is a lot going on.

"Rhys and Siwsi!"

Suddenly, Anita loudly says, “Rhys and Siwsi!   There was a fire – Rhys brought the fire.”

"You're confused, Auntie Neet"

Kelly is convinced that Anita is confused, as Rhys was not at Brynawelon,

"He was – I saw him!"

but Anita is adamant that he was – she saw him.

"Do you know what she is going on about?"
“Do you know what she's going on about?” asks Kelly, while Anita insists that she remembers.

"Come on, calm down"

Anita is now becoming rather agitated and Kelly attempts to calm her,

"I have to go"

while Siwsi is a hurry to leave, maintaining that Rhys was not there,

Kelly does not know what to think

but Kelly does not know what to think

"The train is coming"

Anita announces, “The train is coming – I have to go to the station.”

"That melted in my mouth"

Dai has just polished off his dinner and tells Diane that it melted in his mouth;  “Scrumptious!”

"Are you going to pack now?"

She enquires whether he is going to go upstairs and pack now, as she can take him back to Brynawelon on her way to the hospital.

"Thank you for letting me come home"

“Thank you for letting me come home – mind you, I don’t think I can call it home, the way I’ve treated you.   There we are, despite everything, you still treat me like a King.”

"I made a promise on our wedding day"

“I made you a promise on our wedding day,” she reminds him.

"You married a ionc stwbwrn"

“Unfortunately for you, you married a stubborn idiot [ionc stwbwrn],”

"I'm very sorry about the last few weeks"

“I want you to know that I’m very sorry about the last few weeks – and I mean that.”

"It's a bit late now"

She regards it as a bit late now, and he agrees that she deserves better.

“I hope you know that behind all the jokes and leg-pulling,

"I really am grateful"

“I really am grateful for everything you do for me.”

"It wouldn't do any harm to acknowledge that"

She suggests that it would not do him any harm to acknowledge that now and again.

"I hit the jackpot when I married you"

“You’re right – I hit the jackpot when I married you and I want you to know that I’ll do my best never to talk to you the way I did in the Deri that night ever again.”

"Thank you"

She thanks him for that,

"Does that mean I can come back home?"

so he cautiously asks, “Does that mean I can come home?”

"Brynawelon is your home now"

Diane replies that Brynawelon is his home ‘now, for ever, amen,’ from what she remembers

"I'll phone Eleri"

and will now phone Eleri.

He rubs his hands together and thanks her sincerely;  “There’s no place like home, as they say – and home to me is wherever you are.

"It would be too much of a risk"

“Goodness, it would be too much of a risk to go back to Brynawelon.”   Diane reminds him that it was only a power cut, but he continues, “Only a power cut?

"During an Autumn International?"

“What if it happened during an Autumn International?”

"How did it go in Thailand?"

Lleucu collects the drinks from the counter at Tamed and asks Colin how it went in Thailand.

"It was incredible!"

“It was incredible!” he replies and she is surprised that is all he has to say.

Then it is his turn to ask how she is, but she is still complaining about her big nose;  “You’re not still talking negatively about that, are you?” he demands.

"A tan won't change that"

She insists that a tan will not change it.

Colin invites her to come to the shop later,

"Knock some sense into that coconut!"

so he can knock some sense into that ‘coconut’, but she regrets that she cannot do that.

"I've got an important appointment"

“I’ve got an important appointment in Swansea.”

"Not cosmetic treatment?"

He hopes that she is not still messing about with cosmetic treatments

"A history tutor"

and she maintains that she has arranged a history tutor.

"Why do I sense you're hiding something?"

He says, perspicaciously, “Why do I sense that you’re hiding something, then?”   She insists that she is not.

"You like the smell of lavender, don't you?"

In the hospital, Kelly is massaging Anita's arm with some lavender oil;  “You like the smell of lavender, don’t you?”   She can see that Anita is exhausted.

"You always look smart"

Diane comments that Anita’s hair looks nice, but then she  always looks smart.

"Here come the cavalry"

As Hywel and Ieuan approach, Kelly comments, “Here come the cavalry.”

"I treated him to lunch"

Hywel has treated his brother to lunch in the canteen and Ieuan says   that he could not remember the last time he ate something which did not come out of a vending machine.

"I've sorted out a private room"

He has also managed to sort out a private room for Anita.

"It will be quieter there"

Diane tells Anita that it will be quieter in there.   When Hywel mentions that Rhys will be there later,

"Rhys was helping at Brynawelon last night"

Diane remarks, “He was helping at Brynawelon last night as well.

"You what?"

This comes as news to Kelly, as Diane continues, “Dai said he had no idea about generators – well, that’s what Dai said.”

"I thought he was stuck at work"

Kelly had thought that he was stuck at work;  “Why didn’t he tell me he’d been up there?”   Ieuan describes him as a silent hero,

"What's going on here?"

but this has made Kelly think.

Siwsi walks in

Meanwhile, Rhys is at the brewery, clearing up the glasses, when Siwsi walks in

"Anita has remembered you were there"

and warns him, “Anita has remembered that you were at Brynawelon during the power cut.   I said you weren’t – but I don’t know why I’m covering for you.”

"I shouldn't have dragged you into this"

He admits that this is his mess and that he should not have dragged Siwsi into it.

"I wanted to kiss you"

“You make it sound like I had no choice,” she goes on, “I wanted to kiss you because I like you and I thought you liked me.”

"I do like you"

Rhys insists that he does like Siwsi.

“But you love Kelly,” she moans, although he points out it is not as simple as that.

"You're great, Siwsi"

“You’re great, Siwsi, you really are – although you absolutely love tarot for some reason.   You’re such a laugh, you’re thoughtful, you always put other people first.”

She points out that is not always true, but he describes her as selfless.

"You're the selfless one"

“No, you’re the selfless one – all you’ve done over the last few months is put Kelly first and I know how difficult that is – you’re doing amazing – you are amazing.”

He gives her a hug . . .

He is sorry for upsetting her and gives her a reassuring hug,

. . . which develops into a kiss

which, as expected, leads to more;  they kiss again.

"I thought Kelly was in the canteen"

At the hospital, Diane is unable to find Kelly, who it was thought was in the canteen;  “There was no sign of her just now.”

"She may have gone home"

Ieuan assumes that she has gone home, as she was absolutely shattered.

"It's a marathon for us all

Diane understands that it is a marathon for them all.

Ieuan is alarmed . . .

Suddenly, Anita starts shouting and flailing her arms,

. . . and the staff spring onto action

so members of staff rush to her assistance;

They fear the worst

Diane and Ieuan wonder what is happening.

Meanwhile, at the brewery . . .

At the brewery, the kiss has further developed, but then we find out exactly where Kelly is;

Kelly comes in . . .

just walking into the brewery.   She quietly closes the door,

. . . and cannot believe what she is seeing

then is horrified

Siwsi pushes Rhys away

at the sight which greets her.

"Kelly!"

Siwsi pushes Rhys away

Kelly is aghast

when they realise that Kelly is watching them.

"Things aren't looking good"

Ieuan is frantically trying to contact Kelly; “You need to come back now – things aren’t looking good – please phone me back.”

"We need to get back to Anita!"
Diane comes dashing in, insisting that they need to get back to Anita, so that they can be there for her.

They hasten to her bed

They hurry back to Anita.
