| Anita pours it back into the pot |
Anita takes one sip of the tea and declares it to be terrible, pouring most of it back into the pot.
![]() |
| "The cold one you gave me in the Awelon Club" |
Diane comments, “It’s better than the cold one you once gave me in the Awelon Club,” but Anita recalls that her mind was not quite . . .
![]() |
| "The signs were clear, weren't they?" |
Diane was only pulling her leg, but Anita realises that the signs were clear, looking back. “That’s not what I remember when I look back,” Diane assures her,
![]() |
| "I remember a strong businesswoman" |
“I remember a strong businesswoman – I was afraid of you when you first came to the valley. When you worked here.”
![]() |
| "Oh, Caffi Meic!" |
Anita looks around her and recalls Caffi Meic; Diane goes on, “I was worried you were going to steal Reg away from me – you came to Cwmderi like a tornado – I’d never met anyone like you

![]() |
| "I can't leave you" |
and says that she cannot leave Diane,

| "That's my train!" |

She wonders what is wrong; he says that he is just leaving room for the rest.

As she watches the screen, Anita comments, “I never went.”
Meic continues, “When I’m gone. I don’t want you to stay in the house on your own all the time. I want you to go places, do things, go to Japan if you want –
![]() |
| "I want you to find a new man" |
“and I want you to find a new man. I’ve seen how other men look at you – you’re a smart woman.

| "You're the most beautiful woman" |
“You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”
![]() |
| "I agree with that!" |
From the row behind, Ieuan agrees with that and she realises that she has at last found him.
![]() |
| "I was lost in the darkness for so long" |
“I was lost in the darkness for so long before you arrived, you know.”
Anita agrees that she was too, but he continues, “At Christmas 2021, it was the best present I’d ever had and you filled my world with a galaxy full of light. Even when the darkness did its best to extinguish everything again, we fought back, didn’t we?”

| "Little moments of light" |
“With those little moments of light,” she recalls,
![]() |
| "We couldn't keep our hands to ourselves" |
“Oh, look at us – like two teenagers, we couldn’t keep our hands to ourselves. Ieuan, I know who you are – I know you –

| She kisses him |
![]() |
| But we didn't get enough time" |
“But we didn’t get enough time, did we?”
![]() |
| "You measure time by its worth" |
Ieuan informs her, “You measure time by its worth, not its length,” as there is the sound of a train screeching to a halt.
![]() |
| "It's time, Anita" |
Sheryl appears behind them, telling Anita that it is time
![]() |
| "You must go, love" |
and Ieuan agrees that it is time for her to go. “The train is waiting,” says Sheryl.

| Anita tears up the ticket |
In a panic, Anita tears up the ticket, insisting that she does not want to go.
![]() |
| Apparently the wake, after the funeral |

| She imagines him as Paul |
seeing someone who she somehow recognises as Paul (although he was not born to Kelly until 2019)
![]() |
| "I'm saying goodbye" |
He goes into the kitchen at Tamed and she follows him; “What are you doing here?” she demands and he replies that he is saying goodbye. “Does your mother know you’re here?”
![]() |
| "You shouldn't have come!" |
He tells her not to worry as he is not going to cause any trouble, but she insists that he should not have come, not to Cwmderi, in case anyone sees him. He maintains that he could not stay away and says that he is going to miss Anita,
![]() |
| "You shouldn't be here!" |
but she is still insistent that he should not have come.
![]() |
| Tamed is now deserted . . . |
When she goes back into Tamed, the place is empty,
![]() |
| . . . and so is the High Street . . . |
so she goes out into the street, shouting Kelly’s name,
![]() |
| . . . in both directions |
but now there is no sign of anyone out there.
![]() |
| Medical staff converge on her . . . |
Suddenly, several medical personnel

as Ieuan closes the taxi door.

Without an hour of sleep,
Fighting, tossing and turning through the long hours
Without seeing the end of yesterday
Or an end to the journey.”♫
![]() |
| Things are changing . . . |
Then she realises that things have changed;
![]() |
| . . . she is on a bench – with Meic |
she is no longer in the taxi but is sitting on a bench, next to someone, who she discovers is Meic.
