She is pleased to see him and tells him that the doctor said he has been lucky.

Diane angrily tells him not to joke about this; “I’ve been worried I’d never see you again.

“Whoa, now,” Dai exclaims, “If you’re here to make me feel better, you’re not doing a good job!”

She wonders what he expects, as he is lucky to be alive.

Jinx is outside the pizza place when he notices Eleri who is approaching;

“I need five pizzas,” she instructs him, “For the price of three.”

Jinx alternatively suggests five pizzas for the price of five, wondering if that is a problem, but she ignores him, continuing, “Dad’s meeting Quantum Hydro Works big wigs in the office –

“and I’ve had the honour of sorting the catering.”

| "That's daylight robbery!" |
He points out that five for the price of three is daylight robbery; she asks whether he intends to call the police.

Jinx admits, “I was wrong – I just don’t know where I stand with you sometimes. Have you heard of ‘Burrata cheese’?” [an Italian cheese made from mozzarella and cream]

She sneers that she hopes he is not patronising her, so he explains that he has some new stock and was going to give her some for free. “And that makes up for insulting me, does it? Five pizzas for the price of one!”

For some unknown reason, now he offers her the five completely free

| Eleri is very smug |
and she looks very pleased with her negotiating skills.

At Dai’s bedside, Diane says that some of the villages send their regards; “The two I still like, is it?” he replies

and she can see that he did not get anything from the doctor for his personality.

“Would you want me any other way, Diane?” he asks.

She is not sure about that, “But I’d rather have you here as you are than not at all.”

Dai assures her that he is not going anywhere, so she is adamant that they have to start looking forward to what they need at Bryntirion; “Handrails and a stair lift.”

“Hold the boat – it was an accident – I haven’t aged 20 years overnight!” he protests.

| "It will take some time to get over this " |
Diane is adamant that it will take some time to get over this and they are not talking about major changes.

Now Dai is becoming angry; “The answer is no – I don’t care if you’re on about changing my pants – this walking stick is bad enough! There's such a thing as pride!”

She points out that sometimes people have to swallow their pride.

However, he is insistent, “I’m not going to change for anyone, even you!”

She decides that, in that case, she will have to go home and pack his bag; “If you won’t adapt Bryntirion, you’ll have to move back to the bungalow on your own.” It is obvious that Dai does not relish this idea.

Kylie picks up the photo of herself with Britt and Colin as Britt comes into the room,

having packed as much as she can. She has left Kylie’s wash bag and things, also wanting to give her something as a farewell present.

He also shows some photos on his phone which include ‘Maggi Noggi’; Iolo is very pleased that there is a knock at the door to save him from this; “A successful Eisteddfod, Dad – well done!” he says, as he goes to answer it.

As soon as he does so, the door bursts open and in walks Val, mother of Ffion and grandmother of Lleucu;

At the party in the MFC flat, Colin is cavorting with a mop and singing, which does not appear to impress Kylie and Gwern.

Iolo protests that she is going too far now; “Too far? I’ve hardly started!” she snarls. Siôn did think that Lleucu looked a bit ‘down’ this morning and wants to know what exactly she has said.

Siôn wonders if it is because of the stalking, but Iolo consider it unwise to mention that.

“Is there any sort of authority in this house?” Val wants to know, “No wonder she phoned me in tears!”

but Siôn insists that Val has a right to know, especially after travelling so far.

Gwern follows Colin to MFC and is told that today is a difficult day for them all, which is what is concerning Gwern.

Colin, tells him not to worry about things like that as it is old news; “There’s no doubt that losing Kylie will hit both of us, but we are strong enough to get over it. Honestly, Gwern, Britt will be fine in no time.

Dai is lying disconsolately in his hospital bed, then notices that Diane has returned; “You must love me or something,” he comments and she agrees that she does.

That is why she wants him around for as long as possible – she does not want to lose him.

“Right, I hope you’re not going to start on that bungalow business again,” he groans,

“And you’re going to listen to me this time,” she adds, “Do you realise how much I worry about you every time you go out for a walk? That you’re going to fall – it was hard enough getting you on that scooter in the first place.”

“I’m not going to sit back and watch you struggle up and down those stairs every morning and every night, just because you’re too proud to accept help. Have you ever considered what I’d do if I lost you?”

Dai is confident that she does not need to worry about him, but she is serious; “If you’re not going to agree, you’ll have to go back to the bungalow, no matter how much pain it will cause me.”

Britt is tearfully hugging Kylie, then hands her a chunk of the cake. “Are you sure you don’t want to come with us?” asks Colin.

“Thank you for everything,” says Kylie, but Britt maintains that they should be thanking her for making the place so happy.

He goes on to say that he can come back another time if it is not convenient at the moment, but she is anxious to hear what he has to say.

She assures him that she will look after him, but when he leaves again, she is still very emotional.

Lleucu arrives back at Y Felin and is very shocked to see her grandmother sitting there.

but Lleucu disagrees most strongly with that, arguing that it was not his decision to make.
Val’s mind is made up; “I’m glad Siôn told me, because it makes my decision a lot easier –

“you’re coming back to North Wales with me – you don’t belong here – start packing, or it will be dark.”

Iolo attempts to defuse the situation and urges his father to say something;

however all Siôn will say is that it might be for the best.

“So you do think that I’m in the way – I don’t want to leave – that phone call was a moment of weakness,” Lleucu insists.

Val is having none of that; “As Siôn said, we are thinking of you, Lleucu.”

Iolo is amazed and comments that he never thought he would see the day when the two of them would agree on anything.

Lleucu makes it quite plain, “I don’t want to leave, Gran. Can I at least say goodbye to people? Finish my shifts in the shop? I can’t just leave today.”

Val considers that would be a waste of petrol, but finally gives in; “I’ll come back down next week – and make sure you’re ready to leave, do you understand?”

Suddenly Eleri’s phone timer sounds at the end of his allotted period, but he urges her to wait. She points out that he has had his time. He argues that he is trying his best here.

“Do you understand how much you hurt me?” she demands and he answers that of course he does – that is why he is doing his best now to make things right between them.

“Where were you until today, then?” she asks; he says that he kept away because he did not think that she wanted to talk to him.

“But after talking this morning, you’ve had free pizzas – I’ve been to flippin’ Carmarthen to get a turbot

“Thanks for the food,” she says, but he reminds her that she did not have any food and again wants to know if he is forgiven.
