Anita is speaking to Oliver

Anita is speaking to someone called Oliver on the phone when Kelly walks in and she wonders who this ‘Oliver’ is, surmising that it may be a boyfriend;  “No, it’s one of our suppliers – he’s a joker,” is the reply.

"Nice to see you smiling and happy"

“Nice to see you smiling and happy,” Kelly comments, and Anita replies that she feels a lot better.   “Are you settling in all right in the house?” is the next question, 

"Of course I'm settling in"

to which Anita answers that of course she is, adding that Jason has gone for his lunch.

"Hello, love of my life!"

“No, he hasn’t – Jason is back!” he announces as he returns, and Kelly addresses him as ‘love of my life’.   

"Eifion wants to hire the van for a fortnight"

He has good news, that Eifion wants to hire the van for a fortnight.

Anita does not like the sound of this

Anita does not welcome this news.

"That's loads of money!"

Kelly squeals, “Great – that’s two weeks at 80 quid a day!   That’s loads of money!”   

However, Jason has lowered the price a little

Then comes the bad news – that Jason said he could have it cheaper, because he wants to visit the children, and after some badgering from Kelly, admits that he said £400.

"Jason!"

“Jason!” she screams, but he protests that it is better than nothing, and he has already agreed it;  

"I wouldn't trust him with a steam iron!"

Anita is very doubtful about lending the van to Eifion, maintaining that he is more familiar with driving tractors, and she would not trust him with a steam iron.Jason assures them that it will be fine, and as they walk out of the door, Kelly is describing him as useless;  “I’m not going to prepare the van for him!”   Anita, on the other hand, has other reasons for objecting to this.

"I'm going to Cardiff for a few nights"

In the Deri, Tyler has just informed Cassie that he is going to Cardiff for a few nights, and she is envious.   “We’ve got a table booked at Pulse for tonight – and one of the boys has booked a karaoke session for tomorrow.   I’m not sure what we shall be doing for the rest of the time,” he says.

"This ring is very loose"

Brynmor is sitting at the bar, looking very worried, and tells Cassie that his ring is very loose;  she advises him to be careful or he will lose it.   “You could have it made smaller,” she recommends, and he wants to know if they will do it while he waits, 

"I don't want Kath to know"

as he does not want Kath to know that it does not fit perfectly.

"Phone the shop where you bought it"

“Why don’t you phone the shop where you bought it and ask them?” she goes on;  Brynmor will do that, and puts the ring into his pocket, then takes out his phone.

"Someone's brave . . ."

Anita comes in and looks askance at Eifion;  “Someone’s brave,” she begins, 

". . . borrowing that campervan"

“I hear you’re borrowing Jason’s and Kelly’s campervan,” and he tells her he is going to Scotland for two weeks to see the boys.

Britt is taking notice

Britt, who is cleaning tables nearby, hears this and takes an immediate interest, as Anita continues that it is a long way to go, all the way to Scotland, in that van.   “I’ve driven worse,” he laughs, but she wonders if he is sure of that, 

"But I don't know anything about cars"

adding that she would not trust it – but she does not know anything about cars.

"Well, mind your own business, then"

In that case, he advises her to mind her own business, and she can see that this attempt to dissuade him has failed, leaving the pub.   

Britt is texting someone

Britt on the other hand, quickly sends a text message.

Guto and Gerwyn are back from their travels

At number 10, Guto and Gerwyn have returned from South America;  “It’s so nice to see you, Tes,” says her father, “Is there anything that needs doing?   Arrange the funeral?”   

Tesni reports that everything is arranged

Tesni replies that she has done it, telling them that Siôn is taking the service and that she will do the tribute.

Guto would like to do something – recite a poem or something – 

"It won't be a long service"

but she stresses that it will not be a long service;  he can choose a song if he wants and Gerwyn is sure that they will sort it out.

"You can stay with us if you want"

“Mam-gu and Iori said you can stay with us if you want,” he goes on, 

"I can make myself at home here"

but she says that she is OK in the house, as Anita said she can make herself at home;  she will make a cup of tea.

"I can't run after her, mind"

Ffion is at Maes-y-Deri;  “I’m so grateful for this, Kath,” but it is pointed out that Kath cannot do anything like run after Arwen, 

Arwen has been suspended from school

and it is revealed that Arwen has been brought there to be supervised.

Kath tells her to cheer up, and asks why Jinx cannot look after her;  

"Jinx is busy with the pizzas"

“He’s busy with the pizzas,” says Ffion, and she is interrupted by Arwen.

"Before I go off the rails completely"

“He’s not – he thinks you should spend more time with me – before I go off the rails completely!” she answers.   Kath realises that this must be very embarrassing for Ffion, 

"She's supposed to do school work"

who insists that Arwen is supposed to do school work while she is there.

"It's all right if we watch a bit of telly?"

“OK, fine, but it’s all right if we watch a bit of telly?” Kath suggests, “I won’t be able to stand silence all day!”   She is told not to make it too much, and now Ffion has to leave.

"Right, what do you want to watch first?"

Before she is out of the door, Arwen asks Kath, “Right, what do you want to watch first?”

"How could this happen to someone like Mam?"

Guto groans, “I don’t know how something like this could happen to someone like Mam,” 

"Not as someone who was . . ."

and his father advises that they have to remember her how she was, not just as someone who was . . .

"Murdered?"

“Murdered?” Guto finishes his sentence and is reduced to tears.   Gerwyn reminds him that they have a lot of happy memories, like when they talked to him about the facts of life.   

"When you were describing it like driving a car!"

That makes Guto chuckle, “She was so angry that you were describing it like driving a car!   

"She was so embarrassed"

“She was so embarrassed.”

His father points out that she saw the funny side of it;  

"Remember . . . clutch!"

“She liked to have a laugh – remember, clutch . . .”   

"Do you still take milk?"

Tesni asks, in a rather abrasive way, if they still take milk, and they wonder what is the matter with her.

"We should be realistic about Mam"

“I just think we should be realistic about Mam – instead of acting as if she was a saint!” she growls, “You don’t know about the secrets between her and Dylan!”

"Stop talking in code"

Guto does not know what she is talking about;  he urges her to stop talking in code and tell them what is wrong.   Gerwyn knows only too well what she is referring to;  “Your sister’s upset – we’re all upset, 

"Let me have a word with her by myself"

“but let me have a word with her by myself – and then we’ll have a proper sit down together.”

"I'll go and see Mathew"

“If you’re going to be weird, I’ll go and see Mathew,” says Guto, and leaves by the back door.   

"How long have you known about the drugs"

Tesni approaches her father and asks him how long he has known about Mam’s involvement with the drugs.

"Britt asked me to call in"

In the Deri, Eifion is looking at his phone when Iolo comes in, asking where Britt is, as she asked him to call me in.   Eifion offers him a pint while he is waiting;  

"You've been acting weird for days"

“Come on – what’s wrong? he demands, “You’ve been acting weird for days.”   

"You're imagining things"

Iolo insists that he is imagining things.

Britt is poking her nose in again

Britt comes in just as Eifion announces that he has decided to go see the boys for two weeks in Jason’s camper van.   

"That van probably drinks petrol!"

“That van probably drinks petrol – all the way to Scotland.   It’s old and slow, but there we go.”

"You two are useless – come with me"

Britt cannot resist interrupting, “You two are useless – talking about vans and petrol – come with me!”   Looking puzzled, they do as she instructs them, 

"What's this all about, then?"

and she leads them upstairs to the flat.

Brynmor is in great distress

Brynmor comes in, showing considerable distress;  “I’ve lost it” he exclaims to Cassie, “It must be in here somewhere – I have to find it before Kath realises,” and he begins to crawl around on the floor.   

"Sounds like Eifion's doing"

Cassie as usual assumes that this is connected with Eifion.

"Be completely honest with each other"

Upstairs, Britt tells them that Dylan has taken Gabriel for a walk so they will be left alone;  “I’ll be watching the door downstairs, right – I don’t want you leaving until you’ve been completely honest with each other, right?”

"What's going on?"

“What’s going on?” enquires Eifion, and Iolo says he has no idea.   “What does you mean about being completely honest?   Are you going to tell me what’s wrong?   You haven’t been right since we went to Swansea – are you angry that I left early?”

"I'm not angry"

Iolo insists that he is not angry, but Eifion can see that something is wrong;  

"Everyone thinks I'm a thief"

“Look, everyone in the village thinks I’m a thief – you’re the only friend I have.   If you turn your back on me, I might as well drive Jason’s van and never come back!”

"I am a friend, Eifion"

Iolo begs him not to say that, emphasising that he is a friend.   Eifion relies that he hardly talks to him and will not say why.   “Are you sick again?   Is that what you can’t tell me?”

"Just forget about it!"

“No, it’s nothing like that – right, Eifion, forget about it!” says Iolo, and pushes past Eifion in his haste to leave.

"Don't you dare leave without telling me!"

“Don’t you dare leave without telling me what’s wrong!” Eifion shouts, “If you’re a friend, you would tell me!”   

Eifion was not expecting that . . .

Iolo simply turns and kisses him, 

. . . and looks very taken aback

which causes Eifion extreme surprise.

"Have you got any brandy and matches?"

Arwen appears to be getting up to no good, as she asks, “Auntie Kath, have you got any brandy and matches?” which causes her babysitter some concern.   Arwen says that she will look, just in case, 

"Help me out of this chair, will you?"

and at that moment Brynmor comes in, so Kath wants him to help her out of the chair, so she can investigate what Arwen is doing.

"I have to go and do something . . ."

He cannot risk her seeing his ringless hand, so fabricates an excuse that he has to go and do something;  

". . . go to the village"

“I have to go to the village,” but Kath reminds him that he has just returned from the village.   He seems in a tremendous hurry to leave.

"He's losing his marbles!"

Mark comes downstairs and is told by his mother, “That was odd – he wouldn’t give me his hand to help me up – he’s losing his marbles!”   

"He didn't have many to start with"

Mark does not consider that he had many to start with.   He has been upstairs, trying to sort out the television aerial, but has to go back to number 7 for a step ladder.

"I have to entertain this girl before she makes more mess!"

Kath is very anxious to fix the television, “Because I have to entertain this girl before she makes more mess.”  The sounds of banging come from the kitchen and Mark leaves the house.

"Well, I'm completely confused now"

“Right, well, I’m completely confused now,” says Eifion, “I wanted to give things a go after our one-night-stand – but you definitely didn’t.   You made it totally clear that what happened was a mistake and you wanted us to be friends.   

"Have you changed your mind?"

“Have you changed your mind?   Please don’t lose your tongue now!”

"I don't even know if I like you"

Iolo admits, “I don’t even know if I like you – and even if I do, I don’t know why.   I’m not saying for one second that I’m in love with you, but when I saw you go off with that Adam, it made me realise that I want to find out if there is anything between us.”

"Are you sure you weren't just jealous?"

“Are you sure you weren’t just jealous the other night?” asks Eifion, and Iolo replies that he is not a child.   

"We'll see each other when you get back"

Iolo says that he does not have to say anything now;  he should enjoy himself in Scotland, and they will see each other when he comes back.

“At least you know now why I’ve been avoiding you,” 

Eifion still looks bemused

and, so saying, Iolo leaves the flat.

"Did Dylan tell you?"

Gerwyn tells Tesni, “Guto doesn’t need to know,” and she regards Guto as lucky.   “Did Dylan tell you?” he asks, 

"Damn him!"

“Damn him!”   

"I don't know who Mam was any more"

Tesni argues that she does not know who her mother was any more;  “Don’t defend her, Dad – you’re a good person 

"She was a bad person!"

“and she was a bad person!”   He admits that he is not such a good person, and maintains that her mother was not as bad as she thinks.

Guto is listening from the back door

What they do not know is that Guto has got no further than the back door, and has been listening to their conversation, 

"She was too protective of her brother"

as Gerwyn continues, “She was too protective of her brother – she always was – like a blind spot when you’re driving.   She loved Dylan – she loved us too – that was what she was like.   

"Please, Tes, don't forget the good times"

“Please Tes, don’t forget the good times.”

"Everything has changed!"

Tesni points out that everything has changed;  “I wish I’d never found out about this.”   

Guto has heard enough

Guto has heard enough and continues on his way to see Mathew.

Gwyneth is in a vindictive mood

As Ffion passes the shop, Gwyneth comes out, in a bad mood;  “I went to the school to see you!” she snarls, “But you weren’t available – hiding, were you?   You suspended Gwern without reason and told Dani, not me!   You’ve suspended your daughter, I hope.”

"Yes, of course I have"

Ffion replies that of course she has, 

"Arwen's been dragging him into trouble!"

but Gwyneth goes on, “Arwen’s been dragging him into trouble – he’s innocent!”   Ffion points out that he was there, so he is not innocent. 

"Arwen's out of control!"

“And this isn’t the first time – according to the village, Arwen’s out of control!”   

"And she is being punished"

Ffion calmly assures her that Arwen is being punished, but Gwyneth is not going to let it end there;  

"I don't want this on Gwern's record"

“I don’t want this on Gwern’s record.”   She is told that it is too late for that, and as Gwyneth adopts a threatening tone, 

Dylan happens to be passing with the baby . . .

Dylan is passing by with the pram and takes an interest.

“You have no idea what I could do to you!” Gwyneth hisses menacingly, 

. . . and listens carefully

which causes Dylan to listen even more intently.   

"Are you threatening me?"

Ffion demands that she is being threatened, and it is confirmed that she is.

"Perhaps Gwern will have to look for another school!"

“Well, don’t – or perhaps Gwern will have to look for another school!”  Ffion uncompromisingly informs her.   

"You'll regret saying that!"

As she walks away, Gwyneth promises that she will regret saying that, 

Gwyneth notices Dylan . . .

then notices who is watching her;  

. . . and hurries back to number 9

she heads back across the street to number 9.

"What are you doing here?"

When Brynmor returns to Maes-y-Deri, Mark is still there, tinkering with the television.   “What are you doing here?” says Brynmor and is told that Mark is trying to sort out his mother’s television.   Then Mark notices the bandage on his left hand and wonders what he has done.

Brynmor is trying to hide the absence of his ring

Brynmor is eager to know where Kath is, and is told that she is lying down after the strain of looking after Arwen.   Brynmor partially unwraps the bandage to reveal the fact that he has lost his ring;  “What am I going to do?” he demands, 

'Mam will go berserk!"

and Mark imagines that if his mother finds out, she will go berserk.

He is advised to put the bandage back and cross his fingers, and Mark resumes his television repairs.

When Dylan arrives in the Deri flat . . .

Dylan arrives back at the Deri flat in a furious mood, 

. . . he sees an intruder . . .

and is astonished to see the back view of someone bending over Gabriel’s cot.   

. . . and seizes a golf club

He picks up a handy golf club with which to protect himself and creeps stealthily across the room, 

"Gerwyn?

finally realising that it is Gerwyn, looking at Gabriel’s panda.

He is relieved of his offensive weapon

Gerwyn takes the golf club from his hand and instructs Dylan, “Keep away from Tesni.   I don’t want you to even talk to her!   

"You dragged her into your dirty and dangerous life"

“You’ve dragged her into your dirty and dangerous life – so stay away!”

Dylan groans that Tesni is the only family he has here;  “I wouldn’t put her in any danger.” 

"You said the same thing about Jaclyn"

He is reminded that he said the same thing about Jaclyn;  “Look what happened to her!   

"Everyone who comes into contact with you suffers"

“Everyone who comes into contact with you suffers.   All I can say is, ‘Poor Gabriel’!”

"You left before I finished talking"

Iolo opens the door of Y Felin, and Eifion wants to continue their conversation;  “You left before I finished talking,” he says, 

"I want us to give this a go"

“I don’t want things to be awkward and I don’t want to go away without sorting things out.   I want us to give this a go – I’ve wanted it since that night – I forced myself to believe we could only be friends, because you said that is what you wanted.”

Britt sneaks in

Britt has sneaked in through the open door to see the results of her scheming, 

"I don't care what the rest of the village think"

and as the two of them hug, Eifion says, “If things are all right between us, I don’t care what the rest of the village thinks of me.”

"Nor me, either!"

Britt walks in, “Nor me, either,” she comments, “Just checking that you’re both all right – 

"You're more than all right"

“but you’re more than all right, so I’ll leave you two love-birds alone,” 

They are rather shocked

and off she goes.

Gerwyn is back at number 9

Gerwyn gets back to number 10, 

"Tell me the truth about Mam"

where Guto demands, “Tell me the truth, Dad, about Mam.”   

Gerwyn remains silent

His father does not say anything.

Mark brings back the stepladder . . .

Mark brings the stepladder out of the back door of number 7, 

. . . and find some interesting items . . .

and looks in the store box which has been left open.   

. . . a bundle of cash . . .

In it he finds an envelope, stuffed with £20 notes, 

. . . and Tegwen's purse, complete with rugby tickets

together with a purse containing Rugby tickets and realises what has happened.
