Then he wonders, “What’s that smell?”

At that moment Gwyneth comes in and also immediately notices the smell, commenting that she does not need to ask if Anita used the lavender.

Jason realises that is what the smell is.
“You’re supposed to sprinkle it – not wash in it!” laughs Gwyneth,

"Well, if you're going to laugh at me . . ." |
which immediately puts Anita into a bad mood, growling that if they are going to laugh at her, they should not bother.

Cassie takes a customer's order |
In the Deri, Cassie has written down a customer’s order,

and Britt bewails that she has said sorry to Tesni and does not know what else she can do. “You can’t blame the girl for being angry,” Cassie tells her,

"Using her mother's murder as a gimmick!" |
and Sioned agrees that she would not be happy if someone used her mother’s murder as a gimmick.

Britt stresses that it is not a gimmick, but rather a paranormal night;

then she points out to Cassie that there are no burgers left and only one sausage. “It’s not my fault that my food is so popular, is it?”

Britt is not standing for this, but reminds Sioned, “Cae Glas has had more attention than ever, thanks to me!”

Iolo comes over, with a smile on his face and Britt compliments him on his shirt, assuming he is going somewhere special, then realises what the occasion is when Eifion also comes in.

Sioned is very surprised that Iolo is friendly with Eifion, who has not been seen for a few days,

Britt warns them to behave, cackling with laughter, and says that she is leaving as well, but is told by Cassie that she has not finished her shift.

“There’s no point staying here for one sausage!” Britt snarls, “I’m sure you’ll manage.”

Kath sits down after another exercise session and tells Andrea that she does feel stronger; “A lot of that is down to you – you’ve been a saint these last few weeks.”

“Not that much of a saint, then,” Andrea sighs, but Kath is not going to judge her, or tell her what to do. She simply stresses that if Andrea wants to talk, she is willing to listen.

Colin is drinking a cup of tea when Britt angrily returns to the house; he comments that she is back early

“Even if they walked out on you when you really needed help?” asks Andrea, and Kath reminds her that she was a little girl at the time. “I was old enough to know what I was doing,” is the reply, and she is urged not to be so hard on herself.

“If Alex hated you, he wouldn’t have contacted you, would he?” says Kath, “He wants you back and your mother wants to see you as well, I know that.”

DJ comes into the farmhouse, where Eileen is pouring herself a glass of wine; he has just come to check that Eileen is all right and she invites him to have a glass.

“I’m celebrating – I’ve won a contract to supply pubs,” she says, and he agrees that she deserves it.

“I don’t think everyone agrees with you, but I have worked hard and that’s what I’ve been aiming for the whole time – no-one seems to understand that – apart from you,” she tells him.

As he looks warily at her, she invites him to come and sit down,

and at that moment Britt comes in through the front door, intent on demanding what she sees as her rights. She stops when she hears them talking.

“you seemed to enjoy it, too,” says Eileen.

DJ replies that he does not know what she is trying to do, but he is leaving.

Britt turns and scampers out of the door, while Eileen looks very disappointed that her advance has been rejected.

Jason is in the kitchen at Bryntirion when Kelly comes in, followed by Gwyneth,

Kelly rather pointedly agrees that they are, but Gwyneth maintains that she is worried about Anita.
“Since when have you been so close?” enquires Kelly,

and Gwyneth can see that Anita is finding it difficult being back in the house after everything that has happened there.
Jason accepts that she has not been in the best of moods these last few days, and Gwyneth says that she does not like to see Anita suffer, but realises that her presence is not welcome there, so leaves again.

“I was about to go to bed,” comments Eileen, when Britt comes visiting again, and can see that she has been celebrating that ‘mega contract’.

Britt immediately demands 30% of the pub deal, which Eileen greets with derision.

“I think that someones been watching too much Dragons’ Den” she exclaims.

“No, it’s only fair because you would never have got the ‘mega contract’ if I hadn’t done that interview with the Western Post,” rages Britt.

Eileen makes it very clear, “I have worked hard over the years to develop that brand – you’re not getting a penny!”

“Not even if I promise not to tell Sioned about your kiss with DJ?” Britt threatens, “I was here earlier when DJ called in and I heard everything.”

Eileen insists that she must have misunderstood,

but is told, “I know what I heard and I’m sure Sioned would want to hear it, too!”
Eileen points out, “That would be your word against mine,”

but is asked whether she is willing to take the risk; she is given one last chance – either she gives Britt a cut, or she is going direct to Sioned.

“Get out – I’ve got nothing to hide!” shouts Eileen, and is advised that she is going to regret this, as Britt goes off to carry out her threat.

Anita is replacing the duvet in the campervan, which is parked opposite APD, and lies down on it, as Kelly calls her name;

“What are you doing? I’ve looked everywhere for you,” says Kelly. Anita angrily replies that she is trying to put the duvet back, like Jason asked her to do.

“Look, I’m sorry I haven’t seen much of you since you moved,” Kelly continues, “Are you settling in, or what?”

"Of course I am" |
Anita growls that of course she is; “Not missing my amazing company?” is the next question, and Anita wondered what this is all about. “I just wanted to check that you’re all right, that’s all.

“I’ve seen Gwyneth.”

"You've been talking about me!" |
This immediately angers Anita, who accuses Kelly of talking about her, but is told that they were simply a bit concerned.

Anita forcefully insists that she is OK, and instructs Kelly to tell Jason that the duvet is back in the van.

Sioned comes into the Deri, having been summoned by Britt, and wonders what she wants.

“I didn’t want to have this chat in front of DJ,” Britt begins, “I was up at Penrhewl earlier, right, and I heard something I think you should know about. This isn’t easy to say, but your mother was there and DJ,

“and your mother mentioned something about some kiss they’d had.”

"That can't be true" |
Sioned insists that cannot be true, so Britt goes on, “Your mother said she enjoyed the kiss, and that DJ did, too –

“I know what I heard, love. I wouldn’t lie about something like that.”

Sioned gets up from her chair and rapidly leaves the pub. Britt appears quite pleased with her performance.

At the club in Swansea, Eifion tells Iolo that he did not know anything about the place,

and it is suggested, “We can go back to the Deri if you like!” Eifion replies that it is nice to be out without Iolo’s father, and Iolo is glad that he is enjoying himself.

“But don’t try and get me on the dance floor – not yet, anyway,” Eifion adds, “Right, what do you want to drink?”

Anita is not at ease at number 10 |
Anita gingerly lets herself into number 10 and looks anxiously around; there is a knock at the door, and she finds that it is Gwyneth.

“What are you doing here – again?” she asks, irritably, and Gwyneth says she only wanted to see if Anita was OK.

“Why? So you can report back to Kelly?” Anita demands, “I asked you not to tell anyone!”

She is told that Gwyneth was only trying to help, but Anita snarls, “I don’t want help from someone like you – and do you know what?

“You can take this lavender with you – it makes me feel sick!”

Sioned walks resolutely into Penrhewl to confront her mother, who is in her dressing gown and sitting in an armchair.

“Did you kiss DJ?” Sioned asks her, “Just tell me if it’s true or not!” Eileen simply prevaricates, but is told, “Tell me straight – did you kiss DJ?”

“Listen, Sioned, sometimes these things happen,” Eileen begins,

Sioned has heard enough . . . |
but Sioned has heard enough and she storms out of the house,

leaving her mother feeling rather stupid.

"That as just what I needed" |
As they sit at the meal table in Maes-y-Deri, Andrea says that was just what she needed, and Kath tells her that a meal for two is always nice.

Mark comes in through the back door and is surprised to see Andrea there. “I would offer you a drink, but we’ve drunk it all,” his mother informs him.

He maintains that he just came to get something, and will return another time, but Andrea pleads with him not to go;

“I’m thinking of contacting Alex.”

Mark wonders what changed her mind, but then says it does not matter.
He suggests that he could phone Alex now to arrange it;

“There’s no point putting it off, not with things as they are,” he adds, as he gets out his phone.

Andrea is not very happy about this haste but finds it difficult to argue. He is going to slip upstairs to the toilet, and meanwhile Kath assures Andrea that she is doing the right thing.

Now Iolo is on his own at the bar in the club,

and he sees Eifion getting friendly with another man. “I’m getting us another drink, and then we’re going to dance – I’m not taking no for an answer,” says Iolo, “This is the best night I’ve had for ages.”

He is very disappointing when Eifion announces, “I’ve met someone and he’s invited me back to his house. I wasn’t intending to – but why not? Are you OK to get home on your own?”

Iolo is presented with two drinks, and now does not look at all as if he is enjoying himself.

Mark comes back downstairs, having contacted Alex, and finds that Andrea is no longer there. He says that everything is sorted and describes Alex as a nice bloke.

“Andrea had to go – she had things to do,” his mother tells him, “You like her, don’t you?” but he maintains that they are just friends.

Anita comes downstairs in her dressing gown and again looks around the room;

she tries to clear her head but then hears a noise, a type of thud, and this is followed by a metallic sound.

She looks frightened and this is the last straw;

she picks up her keys, puts on her coat and leaves the house.

Colin is reading a bird-watching magazine when Iolo, back from the club, pays a visit; “I wasn’t expecting to see you tonight,” Britt tells him, “What have you done with Eifion?”

“I thought we were just friends, but it hurt so much seeing him going off with someone else – I wasn’t expecting that.”
