The worry is taking its toll on Cheryl |
Cheryl appears to be rather rundown as she looks at herself in the mirror;
"Did you sleep any better?" |
Mark asks her if she slept any better last night, but she is off to work.
“Don’t you want something to eat before you go?” he asks. She replies that she does not have time.
"Look, take this at least" |
“Look, take this at least,” he tells her, handing her an apple,
"Cher, you can't carry on like this" |
“Look here, Cher, you can’t carry on like this – we haven’t seen Tom for ages.”
"His name's Dave!" |
She corrects him that his name is Dave.
“Well, whatever he calls himself, he’s gone, hasn’t he? And Gaynor is on your side.
"You're safe here with me" |
“ Listen, Cher, you’re safe here with me – I’m here for you.”
"Love you, Mark" |
Cheryl hugs him and they reaffirm their love for each other.
Gaynor does some clearing up |
Gaynor clears away her bottle and glass from last night; the glass goes in the sink and the bottle into the bin.
She is confused |
She is in a state of confusion
One bag has been left behind . . . |
as she picks up a large bag
. . . containing shirts |
with a label, reading ‘shirts’.
Eileen looks at a business card |
Eileen comes out of the farmhouse, looking at a small card;
"Have you seen my new top anywhere?" |
Sioned follows her out, shouting, “Have you seen my new top anywhere?”
"It's drying on the line" |
Her mother points out that it has been washed and is drying on the line.
“I wanted to wear that today!” Sioned growls, but Eileen says that she is only going for a scan and it is a bit smart for that.
"You're making a lot of effort for this Dr Morris" |
She maintains that Sioned is making a lot of effort for Dr Morris.
"I just want to feel good about myself" |
Sioned is becoming angry; “Mam, I’m 26 weeks now – everything’s swollen and I just want to feel good about myself – what’s so bad about that?”
“Why haven’t you asked me to come with you today?’ her mother demands. She is told that they have been through this before – someone has to be in ‘Tamed’.
"He's paying for half the scans!" |
Eileen is convinced that this is not the reason and asks whether DJ will be going with her; “He’s paying for half the scans – and he’s the father!”
“Because I want to go on my own – without any fuss!” shouts Sioned,
"I'm the one having these twins!" |
“And as I’m the one having these twins, I expect everyone else to respect that!”
She returns to the farmhouse |
When Sioned storms back into the farmhouse, Eileen returns to looking at the card,
The card she was given by Dr Dan |
which we see is from Dr Daniel Morris.
In the Tomos ac Ellis office, Eleri demands whether Rhys has finished what he is doing.
"You only gave them to me an hour ago" |
“The two house descriptions? You only gave them to me an hour ago,” he snaps.
“Well, there are more on the way – and I want you to meet a client at Min y Nant at 1:00pm.
"Did you do the checks on those tenants?" |
“Did you do the checks on those tenants in 10, Tan y Coed?”
"You were supposed to do that!" |
Rhys stresses that she was supposed to do that and that the deadline is tomorrow.
"Well, you'll have to do it now" |
“Well, you’ll have to do it now – I’ve got a meeting to prepare for.” He assumes that this is with the new housing company, but she simply tells him, “I won’t waste any more of your time – I appreciate that you’ve got a lot on your plate.”
He is fed up to death with Eleri |
Rhys has had nearly enough of her.
Eileen does some research |
Eileen in ‘Tamed’ searches on Google for Dr Daniel Morris, as there appears to be rather a shortage of customers.
"Is Sioned here?" |
DJ comes in and asks if Sioned is there. “No, she’s off today – having a scan, “ is Eileen’s reply.
"Nobody tells me anything" |
He had not realised that was today; “How am I supposed to know if nobody tells me anything?” he complains, “She doesn’t answer my messages, so I don’t get any sense.”
"She hasn't had much sense lately" |
“She hasn’t had much sense lately,” sneers Eileen. He had been hoping to go with her, and was under the impression that Sioned understood that. He thought things were getting better between them.
DJ is given the doctor's card |
Eileen agrees that he ought to be there and passes on the card to him, with her doctor’s details;
"Her appointment is at 1:00pm" |
“Her appointment is at 1:00pm – if you leave now, you’ll get there in time,” she encourages him.
"Have you been feeling OK?" |
Some time later, Dr Dan putting on his surgical gloves; “Have you been feeling OK since I last saw you?” he asks and Sioned replies that the antibiotics have helped a lot. “I hope you’ve been keeping your stress levels down.”
"Mam isn't helping" |
Sioned says that she has been trying, “But Mam isn’t helping.”
"Did your mother give you my card?" |
He enquires if Eileen has passed on his card with his phone number to her, which comes as news to Sioned.
"The father is here" |
At that moment there is a knock at the door and the receptionist advises Dan that the father is there.
"DJ is here to see you" |
He returns to Sioned, advising her that someone has come to see her; “DJ!”
Sioned is not happy |
This naturally does not please her.
Cheryl gets more Walkers crisps |
In the Deri, Cheryl has brought in another box of crisps
"Can you pass me the menus?" |
and is asked by Cassie to pass her the menus; “There will be a table full of men here any minute – in fact, here they are now. Look, if you’re fed up with Mark, there’s a selection here for you –
"Leave that Tom for me!" |
“but leave that Tom for me and don’t tell Gaynor.”
"Tom?" |
At the mere mention of Tom, Cheryl is immediately on her guard
She is horrified to come face-to-face with him |
and then comes face-to-face with him,
He doesn't not know what to say |
as he orders a round of drinks from Cassie.
"What's she done now?" |
Mathew emerges from APD to load the van when he sees Rhys approaching, looking very downcast. “What’s she done now?” asks Mathew.
"I should be running that place!" |
“She’s hopeless, that’s what – I should be running that place – don’t fancy a pint in the Deri, do you?” Mathew cannot, at the moment, as he has a job in Gorslas.
"Dani's cancelled – again!" |
Jinx has come out of The Pizza Place next door with the three pizzas and is also moaning. “Dani – she’s cancelled for the third time! I’ve made pizzas for her and the children to save her making lunch for them – do you fancy a pizza?” he asks Rhys.
"Go on, then – and we'll get some bottles" |
“Yeah, go on, then – and we’ll get a couple of bottles from the shop,” proposes Rhys; they leave Mathew to continue with his job.
"What are you doing here?" |
“What are you doing here?” snarls Cheryl
"I didn't known you worked here" |
and Tom/Dave explain he did not know she worked there. “Well, you know now – so you can leave!” she informs him.
"I left the police" |
“I’m sorry – I’m here with work – I left the police and have got a security company now. I’m working on local project.”
"Go – now!" |
She still insists that he should go and tells him that at the top of her voice.
"What's going on?" |
Cassie wants to know what is going on, so he says that there is no problem and apologises to her.
"What was that all about?" |
“Are you going to tell me what that was all about?” she asks Cheryl.
The scan is under way |
At the scan, the doctor points out the various various parts of the babies; “It looks as if he’s waving – he or she, of course.”
"You still don't want to know?" |
DJ is surprised that Sioned does not want to know the sex of the babies;
"I've already said I don't!" |
“No – I’ve already said that, haven’t I?’ she snaps; DJ suggest that they should start thinking about names, but she is simply concerned that everything is all right.
"You're not going private for your Caesarean" |
“Yes,” confirms Dan, “I know you’re not going private for your Caesarean, but it do you have any questions?”
"Caesarean?" |
The mention of a Caesarean surprises DJ,
"Because of my heart" |
so she points out, “I have to have one because I’m expecting twins and because of my heart.”
"Why didn't you tell me?" |
He wonders why he has not been told about this,
"Dan, I think I should apologise" |
then thinks it might be appropriate to apologise to the doctor about what he said the other day.
"That's 'water under the bridge'!" |
Dan dismissively describes it as, “Water under the bridge.” DJ asks what brought him to Cwmderi and he replies, “I’ve got a patient there and I sometimes do home visits.”
Sioned resents DJ being there |
Sioned looks at DJ very disapprovingly.
The doctor says he will give them some time alone
"How did you know I was here?" |
and Sioned demands, “How did you know I was here?” When he replies that her mother told him, she is not surprised.
"What's going on sir this doctor, anyway?" |
“What’s going on with this doctor, anyway? Why is he sharing his personal details with you?” She denies that Dan is doing that, so DJ produces the card from his pocket.
"None of your business!" |
Sioned snatches it from him, commenting that it is none of his business.
"Has something happened?" |
“Has something happened between him and Gaynor?” enquires Cassie
"They're not together any more" |
and is told that they are not together any more.
“Because he’s my ex – his real name is Dave and I don’t want him to come here again, Cassie!”
"You can't ban him because he's your ex" |
However, Cassie stresses that she cannot ban him from the Deri just because he is her ex.
"I came to Cwmderi to get away from him" |
Cheryl points out, “It’s more than that – I came to Cwmderi to get away from him – and he’s used Gaynor to get back into my life. I’m telling you, he knew she was my sister, he knew I’d moved here, knew that I worked here –
"I'm not being paranoid, Cassie" |
“I’m not being paranoid, Cassie – I’m going home!”
"You haven't finished your shift!" |
She is reminded that she has not finished her shift,
She collides with Eleri |
but she dashes away, barging into Eleri on her way out of the pub.
“Rhys, this is the third time I’ve phoned you. Where are you? Phone me back!” says Eleri into her phone.
"It's hard to find good staff, there days" |
She sits down at the bar, moaning to Cassie, “It’s hard to find good staff these days, isn’t it? White wine, please.”
Cheryl runs towards Maes-y-Deri |
Cheryl is in a great hurry as she passes APD; as she catches her breath by The Pizza Place,
She sees something troubling on her phone |
her phone sounds and she looks horrified at what she sees.
Meanwhile Mark has a surprise |
Mark opens the door of Maes-y-Deri to find Tom/Dave on the doorstep; “You can’t come in here!” Mark tells him,
"Things can't carry on like this" |
but he pushes his way in. “I’m going to be working here for a while – things can’t carry on like this.”
"No – Cheryl hasn't slept for a fortnight" |
Mark is certainly in agreement with that; “Cheryl hasn’t slept for a fortnight – she’s not eating.”
"And my head is all over the place" |
Tom/Dave alleges that neither has he and his head is all over the place; “I’ve lost Gaynor and people think I’m a terrible person – it’s just not true! I got kicked out of the Deri this afternoon, in front of my colleagues – I was only there for a meeting. This is my livelihood, Mark.”
"I didn't know you were working round here" |
Mark had not realised that he was working in the area; he replies that he has won quite a significant contract and does not want to cancel it.
"When it's over, I'll be out of here for ever" |
But once this project is over, he promises that he will be out of there for ever – and Mark can tell Cheryl that.
"You're not to come back here again!" |
Mark agrees that he will do so, but stipulates that Tom/Dave is not to come back there again.
"I couldn't deal with her temper – it got dangerous!" |
Before he goes, Tom/Dave adds, “Cheryl meant the world to me – when we finished, it was one of the most difficult times of my life. I couldn’t deal with her temper – things went too far – it got dangerous!”
Mark demands whose fault that was;
"I don't know what she's been telling you" |
“I don’t know what she’s been telling you,” says Tom/Dave, “Our relationship was not a healthy one, but in the end she . . .”
"I now what she did – and I know why!" |
“Yes, I know what she did to you – and I know why,” says Mark, but he is told that he does not know the half of it.
"I just want Cheryl to be happy" |
“Look, I just want Cheryl to be happy – that’s all I've ever wanted,” Tom/Dave maintains,
He leaves Maes-y-Deri |
as he opens the door and leaves the house.
Jinx and Rhys are 'chilling out' |
Jinx and Rhys are having a laugh over their pizza in the shop flat when Mathew comes in,
"What on earth's going on here?" |
demanding, “What on earth’s going on here?”
Rhys replies that they are drowning their sorrows and invites him to join them;
"A boy who tried to cook me alive!" |
“I’ve been kicked out of my house by a boy who tried to cook me alive!” complains Jinx, “I don’t know what’s going on with my girlfriend – and I’m not happy with my latest haircut.”
"Some wannabe Property Tycoon!" |
Not to be outdone, Rhys moans, “And I’m stuck working for some wannabe property tycoon who thinks she’s on an episode of ‘Selling Sunset’! She’s only running Tomos ac Ellis
"Dadi's pockets are as big as her ego!" |
“because Dadi’s pockets are as big as her ego!”
Jinx warns him to be careful about what he says about Math’s ex
"Lucky escape there, Math" |
and Rhys reckons that Math had a lucky escape there; “You could have married the ‘Wicked Witch of the West’!”
"You think this is the way to solve your problems?" |
“You think this is the way to solve your problems?” demands Mathew and Rhys realises that things have to change.
Mathew grabs a slice of pizza |
Mathew picks up a slice of pizza as he leaves the flat; Rhys promises, “Watch this space, boy – revolution is coming!”
"What are we going to do?" |
Jinx is not clear what they are going to do
"Be proactive!" |
and is instructed, “Be proactive – text Dani. Tell her that you love her and that it’s ridiculous you’re living apart –
"Revolution!" |
“revolution! I’ll book us a taxi.”
Jinx shows the message he has sent, which Rhys notices is full of typos, advising,
"Send another one, with loads of kisses on it" |
“Send another one, but with loads of kisses on it.”
Cheryl arrives at Maes-y-Deri |
Mark hears the front door of Maes-y-Deri open as Cheryl comes in;
"I saw Dave in the Deri |
“I saw Dave in the Deri!” she gasps, “He hasn’t gone that far away after all – I kicked him out!”
"I don't think he'll be here long" |
Mark says that he does not think Tom/Dave will be in Cwmderi for long; she wonders how he knows this, and Mark improvises, “I heard when I was doing my round – people were talking, you know.”
"I've got the app for the front door camera" |
She does not believe that and accuses him of lying; she takes out her phone, informing him, “I’ve got the app for the front door camera – you let him into the house.”
He tries to explain |
He tries to explain, but she will not listen;
"You invited him in – and lied about it!" |
“I don’t care – he knows where I live, and you invited him in! And then, worst of all, you lied about it to my face!” You told me this morning that I was safe with you – but you let him stand right here in my home – a place he shouldn’t be near!
"So 'safe' is the last thing I feel!" |
“So ‘safe’ is the last thing I feel!”
She disappears upstairs |
She rushes upstairs.
Sioned is back at Penrhewl |
Sioned drives back into the farmyard, unbuckles her seat belt
She looks at Dan's card |
and picks up Dan’s card from the passenger seat. Checking to make sure that her mother is not around, she dials the number.
"Hiya, Dan – it's Sioned here . . ." |
“Hiya, Dan – it’s Sioned here.
". . . are you free at the end of the week?" |
“I was just wondering if you were free at the end of the week.”
Tom/Dave comes to collect his shirts |
Tom/Dave is now at Llwyncelyn to collect his missing shirts; “I thought I’d taken everything,” he says,
"Did you get a chance to think about what I said?" |
“Did you get a chance to think about what I said?”
"I can't do this, sorry . . ." |
Gaynor replies, “I can’t do this, sorry – it’s over. I don’t want to take anyone’s side,
". . . I feel it would be too much for Cheryl" |
“but I feel it would be too much for Cheryl if we started seeing each other again. Right – there’s nothing more to say, is there?”
He is handed the bag |
She picks up the bag and hands it to him.
"It's a pity it has to end like this" |
“It’s a pity it has to end like this – bye, Gaynor,” he says
He walks out of the house . . . |
and sadly walks out of the house.
. . . with Gaynor still confused |
Gaynor is still wondering whether she has done the right thing.
"I want you to sleep here tonight" |
Mark is sitting alone at Maes-y-Deri when Cheryl comes downstairs with the bedding for the sofa. “I want you to sleep here tonight,” she tells him.
"We can work this out, Cher" |
He protests that they can work this out,
"I'm not sure that we can" |
but she is not sure that they can and she immediately returns upstairs.
What can Mark do? |
Mark does not know what to do.
