Next morning, Jinx is intently studying the laptop when Ffion comes into the room, complaining about Arwen; “I’m almost banging my head on a brick wall – I don’t know what’s wrong with her! Has she said anything to you?” Of course she receives no reply, as Jinx is engrossed in the laptop, so she moans, “Oh, so nobody’s talking to me this morning!”

Suddenly Jinx shouts, “Yes! I’ve got it! The bike that bloke wanted to get rid of.”

"Arwen's ignoring me!" |
Ffion angrily points out that Arwen is ignoring her, and wants to know what to do about it.

"Does she want to come with me to get the bike?" |
“Does she want to come with me to get the bike?” he wonders, “I’ll talk to her then.”

"She's grounded, remember?" |
He is reminded that Arwen is grounded until she comes to her senses.

Ffion tries to turn on the television, but finds the remote will not work; Jinx points out that he has removed the plug, explaining, “I’ve switched it off –

“it’s better for the planet – and the bills, too. See you later – good luck with everything.” She looks exasperated.

Out in the street, by the sculpture of ‘Fflam’, Megan is informing Siôn of the letter she has received; “They want to know our decision about Bethania – we can’t ignore them.” He points out that the chapel is closed over the summer, and then they see Rhys walking towards them.

“Planning to sell?” he enquires, “My client will be overjoyed,” and Megan realises he is acting for the developer.

Siôn makes it quite clear that they are not interested in the offer, which is exactly what Rhys had been expecting.

He goes on, “I also know you have to ask the members before making a decision – you don’t want them to find out from someone else.”

Megan warns him, “If you open your mouth, I’ll share what I know about the extras you offer when you’re showing properties.” Rhys wonders what she is talking about,

and as she takes out her phone she goes on, “I’ve got evidence that you’re showing these young girls more than just houses – you don’t want your employer to find out!”
Siôn is very surprised by this allegation,

“What? From chapel-goers?” says Siôn, incredulously. Rhys turns and retreats, as Megan is asked, “You do have evidence, don’t you?”

“Does it matter?” she replies and Siôn laughs at her effrontery.

Hywel is making a cup of tea |
As Hywel is making himself a cup of tea the doorbell rings; he finds that it is Cai,

and demands, “What have you done to Gaynor? She’s in a terrible mood.”
Cai wants to talk about the rugby club, insisting that he wants to ‘do his bit’.

"Sleeping with my partner – and looking for favours?" |
Hywel snarls, “You’re sleeping with my partner, and now you’re looking for favours?” Cai maintains that he has a lot to offer, including coaching skills, but is told that job has gone.

“Are you going to let the club suffer because you don’t like me? Come off it!” say Cai, and is told that if he has something to offer,

Cai will do exactly that, and walks away, while Hywel looks disparagingly at him.

In the Deri, Sioned complains to DJ, “Buying me a coffee doesn’t make up for the fact that you cancelled our date night.”

He proposes that they can go tomorrow, but she reminds him that they have been invited to Gwyneth’s party.

“Would you really rather go to a boring rugby committee than be with me?” she growls, “You probably want to see Tegwen, too – will she be there?”

At Llwyncelyn, Anita is on the phone; “Really? Thanks for letting me know,” and informs Jason that the police have told her they have finished in number 10 and that she can move back in.

He is doubtful whether that is a good thing, but she seems quite eager.
“Even though Jaclyn . . .” says Jason;

she points out that number 10 has been a very happy home for her and it will be again. She is going to start packing.

Jinx is getting used to cycling |
Jinx rides his newly acquired bike along the High Street, rather unsteadily,

and Kelly, outside the bookshop, advises, “You need to put stabilisers on that, or you’ll have another accident.” He admits that he has not ridden a bike for years, and she asks if he is all right after the hospital; “No lasting effects?”
He replies that there is nothing negative, and she is keen to hear more details; “Well, I’ve got a new perspective on life now,” he says,

Siôn asks what he knows about the school’s language curriculum; if he could get his hands on the list of books the school needs, he could get a good deal on a large order.

“I’d be helping your business?” Cai enquires, and Siôn will not deny it, but he will have everything the school needs, and for a fair price, and Cai will have organised it,

which is sure to go down well with Ffion and the governors. “Siôn, you’re a genius – leave it with me,” says Cai, as he hurries away.

Outside the Deri, Jinx explains, “I’ve decided to live life to the fullest – just going for it with things I want to do. Green deliveries on the bike.” Kelly points out that they will be cold deliveries.

Kelly wants to know what is next on the shopping list, and he says it is a garden, so he can grow his own ingredients to put on the pizzas. “A man in Llanarthur has got a load of railway sleepers . . .”

Suddenly Kelly has an idea, and urges him to come with her; he protests that they are there for a coffee, but she insists, “Seriously, you want to see this – trust me – come on!”

Siôn suggests that perhaps she needs to spend time with someone else; let her have a day out with her friends.

Ffion points out that she is grounded, and he thinks that they could do something together, a picnic, going to the beach. After last time, Ffion has no intention of doing that again.
Siôn recalls that the boys enjoyed simple things like that when they were growing up; “Anything to get her head out of that screen,” sighs Ffion.

Ffion shakes her head; “Arwen – I don’t know what to do with you – you’re going from bad to worse.

“You just want me out of the way so you and Jinx can have sex,” Arwen replies, “I saw you by the van – do you think I’m stupid? You obviously didn’t want me there!”

She rushes to her room, slamming the door behind her. Ffion is at her wits’ end.

The committee meeting is under way at the Deri; Hywel, the chairman, says that they can move on to other matters, and Tegwen steps forward.

“I’d like to propose we start a women’s rugby team.” Cai cannot believe that she is serious.

“Of course I am – firstly I’d like you to see this – a list of the league’s other teams.” Cai dismisses them all as useless.
Then she produces the list of women who are interested in playing for the team,

and he sneers, “You do understand there are fifteen in a team, and you need subs?”
She ignores him and continues with another list of how much extra revenue the club would make if the women were charged a membership fee. “Just enough to buy eyelash glue for the first aid bag,” Cai remarks,

but DJ urges him to let Tegwen speak.
Hywel is impressed that she has done her research, and she assures him that they are serious about this. “We? You’re the only one here!” laughs Cai, and she snarls that she is not surprised, if this is the sort of welcome they would get.

DJ suggests that they take a vote on the matter, and all the committee, with the exception of Cai, are in favour. Then Hywel would like to propose something else;

then he realises that he inadvertantly picked up Ffion’s phone in addition to his own.
Ffion looks at Arwen, who promptly gets up and returns to her room.
