"Yes, everything is prepared"

At number 9, Cassie informs Gwyneth that everything is prepared;  “All you need to do is make yourself look pretty for tonight,” and she is about to leave for the Deri when there is a knock at the door.

The DI arrives

She discovers that it is DI Fielding who would like a word with Gwyneth about the murder that happened in the village recently;  she would like to know where Gwyneth was that day.

"Or only people who have just left prison?"

“Are you are asking everyone, or only people who have just left prison?” Gwyneth enquires.

"Where were you?"

“I’m asking everyone – where were you?” say the DI, and is told that Gwyneth was up in North Wales, near Pwllheli;  she was there all week.   “And your friend can confirm this?   Can I have her contact details?” asks the DI,

The contact number is written down

so Gwyneth writes down the telephone number.

"Was there any animosity between you?"

“One more question –was there any animosity between you and Mrs Jaclyn Parri?”   Gwyneth maintains that she hardly knew her, and when the DI leaves the house,

Gwyneth make a phone call

immediately picks up her phone to make a call.

“Hiya, it’s me – you’re about to get a phone call from the police –

"Remember what I said"

“remember what I said – I was with you all week and there’s no way I could have travelled back to Cwmderi without you knowing.”

Anita is back at number 10 . . .

Anita arrives back at number 10, carrying some cleaning materials and some flowers;

. . . and looks around nervously

she finds the place in a rather dishevelled state.   She looks around her with trepidation

"Right, here we go again!"

and says to herself, “Right, here we go again!”

Quite a stack of luggage

Jason comes downstairs at Llwyncelyn to find a large pile of luggage stacked up;

"Are you sure there's enough room in the van?"

“Are you sure there’s enough room in the van for all this stuff – and us?” he wonders.   Kelly is determined that it will be a ‘home from home’.

"Are you excited?"

“Now then, Ifan, are you excited?

"Build sand castles?"

“Do you want to go in the campervan with Dadi and Kelly to the beach – and build sand castles?”

"And go swimming with the fishies!"

Kelly adds, “Yes, and go swimming in the sea with the fishies!   And the sharks, because you like sharks, don’t you?”

Jason assures him that Mr Potato Head can come with them,

Ifan shakes his head

but Ifan shakes his head, obviously not in favour of this outing.

"How are we going fix this, Jase?"

“How are we going to fix this, Jase?” Kelly asks, and he is not sure of the answer to that.

"All this fuss because Gwyneth is back?"

As he sits at the bar, Mark is surprised that all this fuss is because Gwyneth is back, and Eifion informs him that she paid for it all herself.

"Paid for her own party – that's a bit sad"

sighs, “Pay for her own party to celebrate being released from jail – that’s a bit sad, isn’t it?   I won’t be staying for that!”

"More free drinks for everyone else, then"

Cassie points out that there will be more free drinks for everyone else, in that case, which changes his attitude.

Anita gets some fresh air into the house

Anita opens the back door to let some fresh air into the house

Kelly comes in rather hesitantly

just as Kelly walks in through the front door;  “The door was open,” she says, and she looks around the room.

"We have some good memories of living here"

Anita reminds her that they have some very good memories of living in the house,

"Ifan is objecting to going on holiday"

and Kelly tells her that Ifan is objecting to going on holiday in the van with them.

“He’ll be fine once you’re there,” Anita insists, but Kelly is not so sure about that, so is told that they can leave Ifan with her.

Kelly points out that she is moving back to number 10, but she replies, “It’s going to take me a few days to move everything back in – I don’t mind waiting a couple of days.”

"I'll keep it as a back-up"

Kelly is obviously not very enthusiastic about this, but will keep Anita’s offer as a back-up, and will have another go at persuading him.

"Have you tried buying him a new toy?"

“Have you tried buying him a new toy?” Anita asks, and Kelly confirms that she has – and chocolate, and a magazine,

"We only downloaded drive films on his iPad"

and they have downloaded five new films on to his iPad.

Tesni is preparing to go somewhere

Dylan comes into the Deri flat and finds Tesni applying lipstick;

"You look pretty"

“Well, you look pretty,” he says, and is told that Tesni is just popping down to Gwyneth’s party.

"I've arranged a night in for us"

“No!” he tells her, “Because I’ve arranged a night in for the two of us– don’t you remember?”

Tesni knows nothing of this and looks askance at him, as he pleads, “Come on, Tes – you can’t turn me down now and leave me on my own.”

"I won't be late"

She points out that she is only going downstairs and will not be late;  she needs something to take her mind off things.

"What better than a movie night with Uncle Dyl?"

“So what better than a movie night here with Uncle Dyl?” he demands.   She refuses this offer and goes to look for her shoes, which makes him angry.

Jason is having problems . . .

Jason is attempting to start the campervan, but without success

. . . with the campervan

as the engine simply makes a spluttering noise.

He contacts Kelly

He takes out his phone.

"Please tell me you've got the van started?"

Back at Llwyncelyn, Kelly answers the call, “Jase, please tell me you’ve got the van started?”   He replies that he has not, but has managed to get hold of a mechanic;  the bad news is that he will arrive in about four hours.

"What am I supposed to do now?"

“What am I supposed to do?” wails Kelly, “Ifan’s bedtime is way before then.”

"It might be a way to persuade him"

Jason suggests that it may be a way of persuading him;

"What – kidnap him in his sleep?"

“What – kidnap him in his sleep?” she snarls, “Jase, I really need this break!” and he agrees that he does as well.

Tesni puts on her shoes

As Tesni puts on her shoes, Dylan continues, “You’re not going, are you?   I didn’t think you were ungrateful –

"I've arranged it now"

“I’ve arranged it now.”   She wonders what film he has chosen, and he invites her to choose.

“So you’re happy for me to make my own decisions?” she asks,

"You're free to choose anything you want"

and he insists that she is free to choose anything she wants.

So Tesni chooses to go downstairs

“I’m going, then,” she decides, but he warns that she is not safe.

"Whoever killed your Mam is still out there

“Whoever killed your Mam is still out there!” he stresses,

"Am I any safer here with you?"

but she is unsure whether she is any safer with him, reminding him that he shot her mother, and they are all supposed to believe that he did not do anything because the police dropped the charges.

"You were still there with the gun in your hand"

“But you were still there with the gun in your hand that day!” she goes on.   Of course he protests that he would never have . . . but she is already on her way down the stairs.

"You can't keep me prisoner up there!"

“You can’t keep me prisoner up there!” she exclaims as she walks into the bar, with Dylan following her.

Dylan stares at the 'Welcome Back' banner

Then he stops, looking up at the banner above the bar;

Cassie wonders what is going on

Cassie and Mark look puzzled.
"I'm not keeping anyone prisoner"

Dylan follows Tesni to a table;  “I’m not keeping anyone prisoner.   A night for just the two of us,” her maintains, but she objects to him sitting there, staring at her all night.   “You’re not safe here on your own,” he says.

"She's perfectly safe here"

Cassie interrupts, pointing out that she will be perfectly safe there, and will get Tesni a white wine, but Dylan does not want anything.

You can't leave Gabriel on his own"

Tesni insists that he cannot leave Gabriel on his own, but Dylan snarls, “That’s your responsibility, not mine – you insisted on coming down.

"If anything happens to him, it will be your fault!"

“If anything happens to him while I’m here looking after you, it will be your fault!   We’re all safer upstairs!”

Tesni tells him, “You’re off your head!”  and gets up to go to the toilet,

"Dylan, stop – you're being paranoid!"

but he insists that he will go as well.   “Dylan, stop – you’re being paranoid!” she snarls, and then the white wine arrives.

"Remember to bring the glass back"

She decides that she will take it upstairs, and is told to bring the glass back.

Dylan again looks at the banner on his way out;

"What's the matter with him

Eifion and Mark wonders what that was all about, and Cassie has no idea.

"You have no right to treat me like this!"

“You have no right to treat me like this!   I have a right to see other people!” Tesni yells;

Dylan closes the door

he shuts the door behind them

"You don't know who's down there"

and insists that she does not know who is down there.   “Of course I do – friends!” she answers.

She is afraid that he has 'lost it'

He laughs manically, which causes Tesni some concern;

"The exact same words!"

he fetches the post-it note, which this time he has hidden in a drawer, and shows it to her.   “A message to me – those are the exact same words on the banner downstairs.   I found this stuck to your mother’s forehead when I found her body.

Tesni is horrified

Tesni is horrified.

Gwyneth pretends that she is surprised

Downstairs Gwyneth is just arriving and is welcomed by Cassie;  “There was no need,” she says,

"You've been inviting people on Facebook for a week"

but Mark understood she had been inviting people on Facebook for a week.   Eifion sarcastically comments that he is surprised that there are not more people there, and points out that he is working, although all he seems to be doing is eating.

"I'm sure more will be along soon"

Cassie hopes that more people will be arriving any minute, and Gwyneth confirms to Mark that it is a free bar;  “It’s a shame you didn’t put that on the invitation,” he replies.   Cassie asks what Gwyneth wants to drink.

"The exact same words, Tes"

Upstairs in the flat, Dylan again stresses that they are the exact same words.

"You're basing this on those two words?"

“You’re basing this on two words on a banner?” Tesni says, and he is adamant that is because the person who killed her mother is down in the bar tonight.   “Who would want to hurt Mam?” she demands.

“The intention wasn’t to hurt your mother – it was revenge – it was a warning to me!” he growls.

"I'm taking this to the police"

She decides that she is taking the note to the police as it is evidence,

"What are they going to do?"

and he asks, “What are they going to do?”

"Test it to find fingerprints?"

She imagines that they will test it to find fingerprints, but he points out that the only fingerprints on it will be his and her, “But you take it to the police –

"Make a fool of yourself – and me"

“make a fool of yourself – and  me.”

"Don't you want to know who killed Mam?"

“Don’t you want to know who killed Mam, your own sister?” Tesni asks, and he says that is exactly what he wants to know –

"It's the only thing I want to know!"

in fact it is the only thing he wants to know, but they will not be able to find out anything if they are both in prison.

“Those kind of people – people your mother and I worked with – the people who gave us drugs to sell.”

"Or running drugs through the valley?"

Tesni wonders if they were selling drugs, or running drugs through the valley, and he realises that she knew.

“Aled told me but I didn’t believe him,” she says.

"Your mother knew everything as well"

He confirms that everything Aled said was true – and her mother knew everything as well.

"And now only you and I are left"

He adds, “And now, only you and I are left – family – I trust you, Tes, and I think it’s time you know everything as well.”

"Is the van working, Jase?"

Jason returns to Llwyncelyn just as Kelly comes downstairs, asking if the van is working.   He is pleased to announce that it is going like clockwork.

"Something which cost £180 to fix"

She wants to know what was wrong with it, and he answers, “Something that cost £180 to fix,” which causes some surprise.

Kelly has a plan regarding Ifan;  “We aren’t going now, aren’t we?   So in the morning if he wants to go, great.”

"Kelly, have you ever known him change his mind about anything?"

Jason reminds her that Ifan never changes his mind about anything,

"Romantic getaway – you know!"

so she continues, “Plan B – he stays here with Auntie Anita, and we go away for a few days in the camper – romantic getaway – you know?   How does that suit you?”

"Is Auntie Neet happy with that?"

He is in favour of that, but wonders if Auntie Neet is happy with it;

"Roughing it in a campervan with me?"

“Camping – who would have thought you’d enjoy roughing it in a campervan with me?”

She makes it clear that she enjoys holidays, “And what with work – and Jaclyn – and Jinx’s accident, it’s all so depressing.

"I've decided to take life by the 'you know what' and go for it!"

“So I’ve decided to take life by the ‘you know what’ and just, like, go for it!”

"And you want to 'go for it' with me?"

“And you want to ‘go for it’ in a campervan with me?” he concludes;  she wonders how she can resist an offer like that.

"But I won't get paid"

In the Deri, which is almost deserted, Cassie tells Eifion that he might as well go home, but he comments that he will not get paid then.   “I think I can manage to serve one more customer on my own,” she groans, as Jinx comes in through the door.

"I wanted to welcome you back"

He is pleased to see Gwyneth;  “I wanted to come and welcome you back – how are you?” he says, and she replies that she is glad to be out.   She is settling down, apart from the police harassing her.

“They wanted to know where I was the night Jaclyn was killed,” and Jinx sighs that they are only doing their job.

"They would know I was still in jail!"

“If they did their job properly, they would know I was still in jail!” she snarls.

"I still miss her"

Jinx regards it as important that they find out who did it, adding, “I still miss her,” which comes of something of a surprise to Gwyneth,

"Were you . . ?"

who asks if they were close.   “We’d become closer over the last few months,” he replies, “It was complicated.”

She invites him to have a free drink, and assuming that no-one else is coming,

"I have learned my lesson"

begins her speech, “Thank you for coming – it means a lot to me.   I know you might find this difficult to believe, but I have learned my lesson and I’m going to prove that to you.”

Eifion does not believe that

Eifion is rather sceptical about that, but Jinx maintains that she deserves another chance.

“Will you raise your glasses,” she goes on,

"To me!"

“Well . . . to me!” and they rather half-heartedly drink a toast.

"Mam helped you to move the body?"

“Mam helped you to move her body?” says Tesni, incredulously,

"She would do anything for anyone in the family"

and Dylan emphasises that she would have done anything for anyone in the family, and he could not have done what he did without her.

"I can't believes she was OK about it"

“I can’t believe that Mam was OK about you doing all these things,” she gasps.

"Me and Jacs against the world"

“She never let me down – me and Jacs against the world,” he smiles,

"That's not the Mam I knew"

but Tesni cannot recognise the person he is describing as her mother.

“She was a strong and loyal woman – that sounds like Jacs to me,” he says, but Tesni protests that her mother would never have broken the law.

"She would have done anything for me!"

“She would have done anything for me!” Dylan snaps, “And that’s how things will be between us from now on – you’re exactly like your mother – you’re strong.   I don’t want any lies between us – I want us to be completely honest.   “You, me, Aled, Gabriel – you’re the only family I have left.   But you – it’s you I trust.   We could be close.”

"You don't have anyone else"

Tesni gets up to go and he reminds her that she does not have anyone else;  “Don’t you think I know that?” she rages, “That I don’t realise that the only person I have around here is you?   And you know what?

"I'm better off on my own!"

“I’m better off on my own!   I never want to see you again!”

He smashes the glass on the floor

She storms out of the flat, and Dylan, in a fit of temper, picks up Tesni’s  glass and hurls it to the floor.
