| Jason is back from a mission |
Jason walks along the street and enters the café, which is empty except for Kelly; “Surprise!” he exclaims,
 |
| "I wasn't expecting you back until tomorrow" |
and she was not expecting him back until tomorrow.
 |
| "One more night without you was just too much!" |
“Thinking of one more night without you was just too much!” he tells her, “How are things here?”
 |
| "It's so quiet, like" |
She replies, “There’s nobody here – it’s so quiet, like. How did it go with your friend?”
 |
| "It was a waste of time" |
Jason says that it was a waste of time; “He was not interested, and has just invested in another business – so he says.”
Kelly concludes that it is back to the drawing board,
 |
| "Actually, I'm glad you're back home early" |
and then adds, “Actually, you know what – I’m glad you’re back home early, because . . . I didn’t want to tell you over the phone.” Then they are interrupted by Sara, coming downstairs.
 |
| "Your girlfriend is throwing us out" |
“Oh, you’re back,” she curtly remarks to Jason, “You can help me pack, then – hasn’t she told you? Your girlfriend is throwing us out and making me and Ifan homeless.”
 |
| Kelly is furious |
Having said her piece, she returns upstairs, leaving Kelly glowering.
 |
| "She's gone to work" |
In the shop flat, Rhys hears footsteps and a voice calling Izzy’s name; in fact, he is the only one there and reports that Izzy has gone to work. Mathew wonders what Rhys is doing,
 |
| "You don't want me around like a gooseberry" |
and is told, “I’m moving out – I was only supposed to stay here temporarily. Anyway, you don’t want me around the place like a gooseberry!”
 |
| "What do you mean?" |
Mathew cannot understand what he is talking about, so Rhys elaborates, “I know, Math, that you’re seeing each other, you and Izzy.” Mathew tries to deny this,
 |
| "It's like living with two teenagers" |
but Rhys laughs, “I’m not stupid – it’s like living with two teenagers!”
 |
| "We're trying to keep it quiet" |
Mathew confesses that it is true, but does not want Rhys to say anything, as they are trying to keep it quiet; he goes on, “Although, perhaps there isn’t anything to say now – it’s a long story. Women are complicated, aren’t they?”
 |
| "It's a pity we can't live without them" |
Rhys agrees, “You’re telling me – it’s a pity we can’t live without them.”
 |
| The dog's birthday party seems to have been a success |
In the Deri, Dani is telling Britt, “We didn’t have a big party, but Seren said it was better than her own birthday party – isn’t that cute?”
 |
| "Parties for animals" |
As Britt prepares to take the cases of orange juice out the back, Dani continues, “Perhaps we should start a business – parties for animals. It would go well with the doggie parlour.”
 |
| "Going on about that stupid idea!" |
This does not to go down well with Britt; “You’re not wasting your time going on about that stupid idea?” Cassie has just arrived and apologises for being late,
 |
| "Poor Brenda is heartbroken" |
but she saw poor Brenda on the way, who is heartbroken because of Iori. “Thank goodness you’re here,” grumbles Britt,
 |
| "I don't know how much more I can take" |
“I don’t know how much more I can take, hearing about Teddy and the doggie parlour!” She rushes off to the chip shop.
 |
| "Are you all right, Dani?" |
Cassie enquires if Dani is all right and receives the rather abrupt answer,
 |
| "I'm fine!" |
“I’m fine!” which Cassie can see is not the case.
 |
| "I didn't want to stress you out" |
In the café, Kelly explains, “I know I should have told you on the phone last night, but I didn’t want to stress you out.
 |
| "Yesterday was really too much, man!" |
“I’ve tried really, really hard, Jase, but yesterday was really too much, man!” Jason can appreciate what she is saying, insisting there is no need to explain; “You’ve put up with more than many could cope with.”
 |
| "She knows exactly how to wind me up, Jase!" |
“And she knows exactly how to wind me up, Jase!” Kelly grumbles;
 |
| "Yes, that's a special skill of hers" |
he knows from experience that it is a special skill of hers. Ffion comes into the café and asks for a cheese and salad baguette;
 |
| "I'll be over to finish the job, Ffion" |
Jason assures her that he is coming over this afternoon to finish the job, and she is expecting a large bill.
 |
| "I must be in the wrong business" |
Ffion says that she must be in the wrong business.
Jason reiterates to Kelly that she has done nothing wrong,
 |
| "I don't want to hear another word about it" |
and he does not want to hear another word about it, as he goes upstairs.
 |
| "That's £2.95, please" |
Kelly charges Ffion £2.95.
 |
| "I'm not paying you to play on your phone!" |
 |
| "Already done – and the cellar's been sorted" |
“Already cleaned – and the cellar’s been sorted,” says Cassie, so the next order is to sanitise the tables, which has also been done.
 |
| "You're doing very well – without Garry" |
“You’re doing well – without Garry,” Cassie remarks,
 |
| "I don't need him!" |
and Dani is adamant that she does not need him; “You don’t have to worry about impressing the Monks now – I saw how Britt was with you, about Teddy and the doggie parlour.”
Dani makes it clear that she does not care what Britt thinks,
 |
| "Don't let anything stand in your way" |
and is encouraged not to let anything stand in her way.
 |
| "I don't care what you think, either!" |
Dani snarls, “I don’t care what you think either – you obviously don’t care about me!”
Cassie explains that she was in a difficult position with what Garry told her; “Yes, but you chose Garry – I’m fine without him!
 |
| "I'm fine without you, too, OK?" |
“And I’m fine without you, too, OK?” Cassie has been firmly reprimanded.
 |
| Eifion is wandering around |
Eifion comes walking through the alley just as Mathew emerges from the shop flat; “Oi!” shouts Mathew,
 |
| "Why tell Tesni about me and Izzy?" |
“I want a word with you – why tell Tesni about me and Izzy?” The reply is that Tesni is a nice girl and deserved to know.
 |
| "You just wanted revenge" |
“You don’t care about Tesni – you just wanted revenge!” Mathew goes on.
 |
| "She has every right to know, you coward!" |
Again, Eifion maintains that she had every right to know what he did behind her back, and calls him a coward.
 |
| "How many men did you sleep with?" |
“You’ve done a lot worse – how many men did you sleep with, behind Cadno’s back?” Mathew demands.
Eifion does not consider that any different than cheating with a woman;
 |
| "I didn't think you were a homophobe!" |
“I didn’t think you were a homophobe on top of everything else – but it’s not your fault – you were bound to turn out like your father.”
 |
| Izzy has just come out of the flat |
As Izzy comes out of the door of the flat, he adds, “Hey, we’ve both had a go at Izzy –
 |
| "Perhaps it's his his turn next!" |
“perhaps it’s his turn next! Keep it in the family!”
Mathew is furious and is about to wallop Eifion,
 |
| "No, Mathew – he's not worth it!" |
but Izzy rebukes him. “Keep your distance,” Eifion taunts him, “See what he’s really like?
 |
| "Are you sure you've made the right choice, Izzy?" |
“Are you sure you’ve made the right choice, Izzy? He would have killed me if you hadn’t stopped him.”
 |
| "I wouldn't have blamed him if he did!" |
She stresses that she would not have blamed him, and assures Eifion that he will not split them up. “You know how all this started, don’t you?” Eifion rants, “He’s angry that I upset his ex – what does that tell you?”
 |
| "He's ten times the man you are!" |
Izzy replies, “That he’s ten times the man you are!” Eifion concludes that they are both mad, and she agrees, “We are, but we’re also happy! Something someone like you will never understand.
 |
| "You've got no chance!" |
“Stop wasting your energy on us – you’ve got no chance!”
 |
| Ffion returns from an eventful day at school |
At Cysgod y Glyn, Ffion returns from school and tells Jason that she has had ‘a memorable day’;
 |
| "You won't have any more problems with damp" |
he has now finished the work, and advises that she will not have any more problems with damp on that wall.
 |
| "Arwen can go back to her own room tonight" |
“Thank heavens – Arwen can go back to her own room tonight,” sighs Ffion, “She’s impossible to share a bed with.”
Jason knows all about this, having had the same problem with Ifan, and Ffion agrees that they like a lot of room.
 |
| "Ifan snores worse than Dai!" |
“Ifan snores worse than Dai!” complains Jason, “I’ve given you mates’ rates, of course, but if you talk to Dai, please don’t tell him, because he’s out for my blood. Because I won’t sign the sale documents. I’ve promised to find someone to buy their share.”
 |
| "You had no luck, then?" |
Ffion realises that he has had no luck,
 |
| "Ffion, would you consider . . ?" |
and he thinks that it is worth a try to ask her; she laughs, “Are you serious?
 |
| "Although I dream of being a builder . . ." |
“Although I dream of switching careers to be a builder, I think I’d better refuse.” As his phone begins sounding, she suggests that he could sell the business and start over again.
 |
| "This one wants her money now!" |
“No,” he answers, pointing to his phone, “This one wants her money now!” Sara is demanding that he come over to see her now, and he leaves hurriedly.
 |
| "I'm going to see the accountant tomorrow" |
When Britt returns to the Deri, she informs Dani, “I’m going to see the accountant tomorrow – so if you can get the books ready . . .” Dani proposes to go with her, as she wants to discuss the new business, for which she has started a business plan.
 |
| "We can't trust Garry!" |
“I know Garry said I could have what I want – but we can’t trust Garry!” she says, and when Britt objects to her talking about him like that, she goes on, “Why can’t you just admit it’s his fault this time?”
 |
| "I want Garry to be happy" |
Britt tells her, “Because I want him to be happy, if he isn’t happy with you . . .”
 |
| "A customer could walk in at any moment" |
Cassie urges then to stop quarrelling, as a customer could walk in at any moment. “I’ve got better things to do than listen to her, anyway – so if you can get the books ready, please,” Britt adds, and then walks out of the Deri.
 |
| "You've got to keep your personal problems away from the bar" |
Cassie reprimands Dani, “You’ve got to keep your personal problems away from the bar,”
 |
| "Don't you tell me what to do!" |
and is sternly warned to stop telling her what to do. “Stop acting like children, then,” is Cassie’s caustic reply. Dani is pondering.
 |
| "What can I do to help you this time?" |
Jason arrives in the café flat; “Sara, right then, what can I do to help you this time?” he asks,
 |
| "Can you have a word with Kelly?" |
and she whines that she wants him to have a word with Kelly.
 |
| "And say what?" |
“And say what?” he demands.
She continues her wheedling, “Tell her she can’t kick me out, Jase.
 |
| "Please, Jase, just for a few days" |
“Oh, please, Jase, just a few days until I find somewhere –
 |
| She invokes Ifan's name |
“please – for Ifan’s sake!”
 |
| "Hurting you was the last thing I wanted to do" |
In the Deri, Mathew assures Izzy, “Hurting you was the last thing I wanted to do.” She appreciates that, and confesses that she overreacted; she was really worried that he was having regrets.
 |
| "You're so kind to others" |
“One of the reasons I fell for you was because you’re kind to others,” she goes on, “I should never have complained about you worrying about Tes.”
 |
| "I should never have contacted her" |
He concedes that he never should have contacted her, and they appear to have come to an understanding.
 |
| "So you've made up, then" |
Rhys comes in and remarks, “So you’ve made up then,” and Mathew confirms that he knows. “Don’t worry – I won’t tell anyone,” Rhys promises,

| "Has he told you I'm moving out?" |
“Has he told you that I’m moving out?” Izzy wonders how they will ever manage without him,
 |
| "I can't wait to have the flat to ourselves" |
but then comments to Mathew that she cannot wait to have the flat to themselves again.
 |
| "I can watch telly in my pants again" |
He says he is looking forward to watching telly in his pants again,
 |
| "I can think of more exciting things to do than that!" |
but she suggests, “I can think of more exciting things to do than that!”
 |
| "What's going on?" |
Jason comes downstairs to the café, followed by Sara, and Kelly wants to know what is going on.
 |
| "I've been a bit short with you lately" |
“I’d like to apologise if I’ve been a bit short with you lately,” says Sara, rather unconvincingly,
 |
| "Only a bit?" |
and Kelly considers that it is rather more than ‘a bit’. “I had a lot on my mind – and I know I’m asking a lot, too, but I’m having trouble finding a place,” adds Sara.
 |
| Wait for it . . . |
Kelly is not looking forward to what is coming next;
 |
| "Would you mind if I stayed for a few days?" |
“Would you mind if I stayed for a few days – just until I can find somewhere else?”
 |
| "OK – with conditions" |
There is a long pause and then Kelly answers magnanimously, “OK – but I want the lounge to myself after Ifan goes to bed, right?” Sara accepts this proviso, and is about to leave,
 |
| "Aren't you forgetting something, Sara?" |
when Jason reminds her that she is forgetting something.
 |
| "Yeah – thank you" |
“Yeah – thank you,” Sara says, rather reluctantly, and hurries out of the café.
 |
| "Yes, I am a saint, aren't I?" |
Jason describes Kelly as a saint, and she wholeheartedly agrees with him.
 |
| "I'm thinking of having cocktail nights here" |
 |
| "I didn't appreciate the way you talked to me" |
“I didn’t appreciate the way you talked to me earlier in front of Britt.”
Cassie says that she was addressing them both, but this makes no difference to Dani; “I don’t care – you work for me and I expect some respect!”
 |
| "Why don't you leave the pub to me?" |
Cassie is aware that Dani is going through a rough time, and suggests, “Why don’t you leave the pub to me, so you can concentrate on the kids and yourself?”
 |
| "What – like a good little wife?" |
“What – like a good little wife?” responds Dani, “I don’t want your help! I’ve had enough of people telling me what I can and can’t do.
 |
| "I don't want you here – you're sacked!" |
“Actually I don’t want you here – you’re sacked! Get out!”
 |
| "You can't blame me for what Garry did" |
Cassie protests that she cannot be blamed for what Garry did,
 |
| Cassie goes to get her coat . . . |
but goes to collect her coat and walks out.
 |
| . . . and dials a number on her phone |
Once outside the pub door, she takes out her phone and attempts to make a call;
 |
| She finds that Britt is in the chippy |
across the road, she can see that Britt is in the chippy, so goes over there.
 |
| "Britt, how do I contact Garry?" |
“Britt, how do I contact Garry? He’s not answering his phone.” Britt says that he is not talking to anyone at the moment, but Cassie is insistent that she needs to speak to him now.
 |
| "I've just been sacked!" |
“I’ve just been sacked!”
 |
| "Right, we'll see about that!" |
Britt decides she will go and sort the matter out immediately.
 |
| Rhys enters his father's house . . . |
Rhys has moved to his father’s house, next door to the Deri, and is suprised to find it in a state of disarray,
 |
| . . . and finds the place in a mess |
littered with takeaway boxes and empty bottles.
 |
| "You almost gave me a heart attack!" |
When he hears a noise, he turns to find that it is Eifion, and demands what he is doing there. Eifion moans that Rhys almost gave him a heart attack.
“Have you been staying here?” Rhys demands, and is told that it has only been for a few days;

| "I'm phoning the police!" |
“You can’t just break into someone’s house – I’m phoning the police!” Rhys threatens.
 |
| "I haven't got anywhere else to go" |
Eifion comes out with the sob story that he had nowhere else to go, and explains that it is a long story about Penrhewl.
 |
| "And you've fallen out with Mathew" |
“And, from what I’ve heard, you’ve fallen out with Mathew,” Rhys continues; he is begged not to tell his father. “Lucky for you that we’re not talking at the moment,” says Rhys, “But I am moving in today, and you’ll have to go.”
Eifion offers to pay, but Rhys simply wants some space;

| "How much do you want?" |
“You won’t know I’m here – please, I have nowhere else to go – say how much do you want,” whines Eifion. It is decided that will amount to a week’s rent, for the time that he has been there, and not a single word to Hywel.
 |
| Eifion make an immediate start at clearing up |
There is also the requirement that Eifion clears up the mess in the house, which he starts to do straightaway.
 |
| "You had no right to sack Cassie" |
The door of the Deri opens and Britt marches in, followed by Cassie; “Dani, you had no right to sack Cassie,” Britt points out,
 |
| "I own the place, Britt" |
but Dani confidently replies that she owns the place.
 |
| "This business is mine and Garry's" |
“No, you don’t own anything – the business is mine and Garry’s,” she is informed.
“Perhaps he isn’t here, but I’m still his wife,” Dani complains,
 |
| "Including your pathetic chippy!" |
“I have the right to half of all the businesses – including your pathetic chippy – or do you want the sack too?
Britt answers, “Garry’s not stupid – he knew he wouldn’t be able to trust you, so he put all his businesses in my name.”
 |
| "Garry would never do that" |
Dani insists that he would never do that, and indeed had no right to do it; she will phone the solicitor.
 |
| "I can fetch the paperwork now, if you want" |
“There’s no need – I can fetch the paperwork now if you want – it’s all there in black and white,” Britt informs her. Her voice trembling with emotion, Dani declares that Garry is not going to get away with this.
 |
| "At least it puts a stop to the doggie parlour business" |
Britt remarks, “At least it puts a stop to this doggie parlour business – the whole village will be glad of that!” Dani storms off upstairs,
 |
| "Leave her – you've got a pub to run!" |
and Britt tells Cassie, “Leave her – you’ve got a pub to run!”
 |
| Dani sits on the sofa . . . |
Up in the flat Dani sits down on the sofa,
 |
| . . . in a state of devastation |
picking up Seren’s teddy bear and hugging it; she is very close to tears.
