| Eileen is sorting out the accounts . . . |
Eileen is dealing with the Cae Glas accounts on the laptop when she hears the front door opening; she assumes that it is Sioned.

| . . . when she has an unwelcome visitor |
However, Eifion is the one who comes in,
 |
| "What on earth are you doing here?" |
and she demands, “What on earth are you doing here?”
He comments that it is not much of a welcome, and she continues, “I told you to stay away!”
 |
| "That's hard for me to do now" |
He points out that it is hard for him to do that now – and asks if there is any chance of a cup of tea, as he is parched. “Nothing changes, does it? I watch you out now,” Eileen instructs him, but he sits down.
“I didn’t want you to hear this from anyone else,” he says, “I’m trying to do the right thing here – I’m going to be around the place quite a lot. I need to keep an eye on my land.”

| "What do you mean, your land?" |
She wonders what land it is he is talking about, and he enlightens her, “I’ve just bought two fields from Kath – I got a bargain, too.”
 |
| "You'd be surprised what people will do for money" |
Eileen is quite adamant that Kath would not do that, but he sneers, “You’d be surprised what people will do for money.” As Eileen stands there, open-mouthed,
 |
| "I'll come back another time. Eileen" |
he adds that he will come back another time to discuss it, as she has had a shock; “I’ve big plans!”
Eileen is determined not to let this happen, and he smiles, “It already has, thanks to Jim,”
 |
| "Don't you even mention his name!" |
and she forbids him to even mention the name. As he leaves, he says, “Bye, Eileen – lovely catching up with you.”

| Jason is making himself at home at Cysgod y Glyn |
At Cysgod y Glyn, Ffion comes in to find Jason making himself a cup of tea;
 |
| "You're supposed to be sorting out the damp" |
“You’re supposed to be sorting out the damp, not making yourself at home,” she reprimands him. He jokes that he has just had a bath, and she suspects that it was with her most expensive bubble bath.
 |
| "The job will be done by the end of the week" |
He assures her that the job will be done by the end of the week.
 |
| "I've got a 10k race coming up" |
She refuses the offer of cup of tea, as she is going for a jog; “I’ve got a 10k race coming up,” and he realises that is why it is such an obsession, deducing that she wants to beat Luned.
Ffion is angry to hear that Luned is also taking part, and he says that is what Kelly told him;

| "Luned's out training in her lunch hour" |
“She’s out training during her lunch hour,” so Ffion thinks she had better get started now and leaves.
 |
| Jason has a call from Hywel |
Jason’s phone rings, and he finds that it is Hywel;
 |
| "Do you fancy meeting up for a pint?" |
“You got my message, then? Do you fancy meeting up for a pint?”
 |
| "Mathew and Izzy are head over heels" |
In the shop, Colin is telling Gaynor, “Izzy and Mathew are head over heels, from what I can see.” She does not share his enthusiasm, and he hopes that she is making a bit more of an effort now.

| "Do you sell wine from Croatia, Colin?" |
She asks if they sell wine from Croatia,
 |
| "More likely to sell wine from Carmarthenshire!" |
at which he laughs, “Heavens, no – we’d be more likely to sell wine from Carmarthenshire!”
However, they do stock risotto rice, and he directs her to the shelf,

| "Izzy appears to be happy" |
but goes on, “About Izzy and Mathew – have you kept your word and been supportive? Izzy appears to be happy.” She does not want to talk about it now, as she is in a rush and needs to buy things for Hywel’s dinner, so he assumes that things are better between them.
 |
| "Hywel's booked us ten days in Croatia" |
“Yes, and we’ve put the palaver with Ffion behind us,” she answers, “Now we’re concentrating on going on holiday – Hywel’s booked us ten days in Croatia as a surprise.”
 |
| "It's important to get away from the village sometimes" |
Colin can understand that it is important to leave the village sometimes, and she thanks him for being a good friend.
 |
| Eileen is not at all happy now |
Eileen is extremely upset at what she has discovered, and when Sioned returns, complaining that it was bonkers in the market today,

| "We're never going to get rid of him, Sioned!" |
she is told, “We’re never going to get rid of him! Kath’s sold the fields to Eifion!
 |
| "Probably getting her own back!" |
“Probably getting her own back after I gave her a hard time about the will. This is typical of Eifion.”
 |
| "If Jim hadn't left the field to Kath . . ." |
On the other hand, Sioned maintains that it is all Jim’s fault; “If he hadn’t left the fields to Kath in the first place . . .”
Her mother replies that he is not here to explain himself, but Kath is;

| "I'm going to stop this now!" |
“Perhaps she can ignore my calls, but she can’t hide for ever. I’m going to stop this now!”
 |
| "Mam, you ought to calm down first" |
Dismissing Sioned’s pleas to calm down first, before confronting Kath, she storms out of the farm.
 |
| Luned has a hangover |
In the café, Luned is looking under the weather, and Rhys remarks, “If a fry-up doesn’t get rid of a hangover, you’ve got no hope.” Luned predictably vows that she will never drink again,
 |
| Here comes trouble |
then, to add to her troubles, Eifion comes in,
 |
| "I want a word with you" |
Rhys wants a word with him;
 |
| "I think you've got something to say to Luned" |
“I think you’ve got something to say to Luned,” he suggests,
 |
| Eifion surprises them by apologising . . . |
and, surprisingly enough, Eifion does apologise about yesterday.
“You weren’t interested in doing that last night,” Luned stresses, but he alleges that he has had time to think, and realises that he overreacted; he has been under a lot of pressure lately.

| . . . and telling his tale of woe |
“Izzy and I split up, and I’m missing Jim – it won’t happen again – I’m sorry,” he goes on, and Luned is taken in by this;

| "I'll never give you vegan sausages again!" |
she promises never to give him vegan sausages again. Now she is off to the gym to shift her hangover.
 |
| Eifion reaches for his phone |
Eifion gets out his phone, as Rhys warns him, “I’m willing to accept that it was a mistake this time,
 |
| "Talk to my girlfriend like that again . . . |
“but talk to my girlfriend like that again, and I won’t be so forgiving! “Understand?”
 |
| Eifion smirks at him |
Eifion smirks, as usual.
 |
| "What's the occasion then, Jason?" |
Hywel and Jason are drinking in the Deri; Hywel wants to know what is the occasion. “Should there be an occasion to enjoy a pint with an old friend?” is Jason’s reply, and then he gets to the point.
 |
| "I've got a business offer for you" |
“I want to help you, as it happens – I’ve got a business offer for you,
 |
| Hywel is immediately interested |
“and I think you’ll like it.”
 |
| Kath is doing the household chores |
Kath is doing the washing up at Maes-y-Deri, when there is a knock at the door; “I want a word!” demands Eileen,
 |
| "You've sold them to him, haven't you?" |
“Is it true? You’ve sold them to him, haven’t you? You know how to rub salt into the wound.”
 |
| ". . . and you're ready to celebrate" |
Then she notices the bottle on sideboard, for a celebration drink.
 |
| "He made an offer I couldn't refuse" |
Kath points out that Eifion made a good offer which she could not refuse. “Why didn’t you tell me? I would have bought them,” insists Eileen,
 |
| "I wan't thinking of selling" |
and Kath says that she was not thinking of selling until Eifion offered.
“I’m in no position to refuse £15,000,” Kath points out,
 |
| "Right, how much do you want?" |
 |
| Eileen is devastated |
“I bet he was!” Eileen growls, and she sinks into a chair. Kath says that she is sorry, but is told, “You have no idea how much of a mess this is.”
 |
| Kath explains to Eileen |
After some explanation, as Eileen drinks a cup of tea, Kath had no idea things were so bad between them; “He said he was buying in order to make things right with you.” Eileen is surprised that she did not think of checking first,
 |
| "We haven't talked much recently, have we?" |
but Kath reminds her, “We haven’t talked much recently, have we, Eileen?”
 |
| "I thought we were still friends" |
Eileen was under the impression that they were still friends, so Kath comments that she would like to have been aware of that.
 |
| "How was I supposed to refuse that kind of money?" |
“Just put yourself in my shoes – how was I supposed to refuse that kind of money?” she says, “It’s all right for you, you’ve got enough. I’m sorry if I’ve made things difficult.”
Eileen predicts that Eifion is going to make their lives hell, so Kath volunteers to have a word with him; “And say what? He’s got what he wants!

“I think you’ve done enough already!”

| Environmentally-minded Luned . . . |
Luned is walking across the road by the chip shop, when she sees some litter has been thrown down;

she puts down her bag by the bus stop and goes to pick up the items.
 |
| Ffion comes speeding round the corner . . . |
At that moment, Ffion comes running round the corner and falls over the bag;
 |
| . . . and falls over Luned's bag |
 |
| She has no doubt who is to blame |
and it is obvious that she blames Luuned
 |
| "There's no risk attached to it at all, Hywel" |
In the Deri, Jason continues with his proposal; “There’s no risk attached to it at all, Hywel – you know the company, you know everyone who works there. Everything’s already set up and running like clockwork.”

| "I have been looking for something to invest in" |
Hywel replies that he has been looking for something in which to invest, and Jason emphasises, “Nowhere better than on your own doorstep.” Hywel remarks that could be either good or bad.
 |
| "Come on, Hywel" |
“Not with us at the helm – come on, Hywel,” Jason urges, but Hywel would need to see the books before making any decision, and would also need to talk to Gaynor about it.
 |
| "We'll take one step at a time" |
However, he confesses that he is interested, and Jason enthusiastically says, “Great – this could be the start of something big!” He is told that they will take one step at a time, and Jason will bring over the books and paperwork as soon as he can.
 |
| "Ffion's hurt herself!" |
Luned comes in, very upset, and tells them, “Ffion’s hurt herself outside, and she won’t let me help!”
 |
| "Jason goes to investigate" |
Jason rushes out after her to see if Ffion is all right.
 |
| Ffion insists it was deliberate |
“She put her bag down where I was running, so I’d trip over it,” Ffion exclaims, but Luned protests that she had no idea she was there. “I’m in a lot of pain – and now I won’t be able to do the race,” Ffion goes on, and Luned thinks she had better make herself scarce,
 |
| "I hope you'll be all right, Mrs Llywelyn" |
hoping that Mrs Llywelyn will be all right.
 |
| "You've got what you wanted!" |
“Yes, go on – you’ve got what you wanted! You knew I’d thrash you in the race!” Ffion yells after her, but Luned laughs at the very idea that Ffion was any sort of competition.
 |
| "She can be a drama queen!" |
Hywel, watching from the door of the Deri, advises her to lose any sleep over the matter, maintaining that Ffion can be a drama queen.
 |
| "Let's get you off the street, Ffion" |
Jason wants to get Ffion off the street, but she is still in a lot of pain.
 |
| "Huwi's been on the tractor with DJ" |
At Penrhewl, Sioned finds her mother sitting in silence; she reports that Huwi has been with DJ on the tractor all afternoon and is now asleep. She assumes that things did not go well with Kath;
 |
| "She's signed everything" |
Eileen sighs, “She’s signed everything – you were right this morning – this is Jim’s fault.”
 |
| "Sorry, Mam, I shouldn't have said that" |
Sioned acknowledges that she should not have said that;
 |
| "Why would he do this to us?" |
“Why would he do this to us?” her mother wails, and Sioned says that they will get through this. “How? We don’t know what his plans are.”
 |
| "We're not letting him get the better of us" |
 |
| "She's so smug about it!" |
Jason has managed to get Ffion back up to the flat, where she is whining, “It wasn’t just the fact she tripped me, but she’s so smug about it –
 |
| "I don't know what Rhys sees in her!" |
“I don’t know what Rhys sees in her! I’ve taught her since she was in year 7, and she’s always wanted to have her own way!”
 |
| "Do you want me to make you a coffee?" |
Jason asks, “Do you want me to make you a coffee?” and she grumbles that she needs something stronger than that.
 |
| "I hope that was supposed to be a joke!" |
“I hope that was supposed to be a joke!” he strongly reprimands her, and she explains that she meant painkillers. “Are you sure you don’t need a doctor?” he says,
 |
| "I'll wait to see what it is like tomorrow" |
and she will wait to see what it is like tomorrow.
 |
| "Look, I know how hard it can be, Ffion" |
“Look, Ffion, I know better than anyone how hard it can be, and I know how easy it is to slip back – even when little things happen.” She appreciates his worrying about her, but says there is honestly no need;
 |
| "I'm not going to withdraw from this race!" |
she is not going to let this spoil weeks of hard work, and is determined that neither is she going to withdraw from the race.
“If she thinks she can scare me away, she’s in for a shock!” Ffion declares, and Jason gets the impression that she is trying to prove a point with this race.
 |
| "I'd beat her, running on one leg" |
“There’s no point to prove – I’d beat her, running on one leg!” she rants,
 |
| She realises what she has said |
which makes them both laugh.
 |
| Gaynor is looking at Croatia |
When Hywel gets back to Llwyncelyn, Gaynor is doing some research into Croatia;

| "Do you fancy walking the walls of Dubrovnik?" |
“Do you fancy walking the walls of Dubrovnik?” she asks him, “It looks incredible – shame it will be cold when we’re there.”
 |
| "Dinner smalls good" |
He can smell the seafood risotto which is cooking, and Gaynor asks, “Do you sometimes tired of this old place?”
 |
| "Every time there's a rugby committee with Dai" |
“Every time there’s a rugby committee with Dai,” he replies, and she says she just fancies packing up and running away. He wonders what happened in school today to bring this on, and she explains that it is not work, but the village.
 |
| "Everyone knowing each other's business" |
“Everyone gossiping, knowing each other’s business,” she moans, but he supposes that it is the same everywhere. “If you lived by the sea, at least you’d have a nice view to look at.
 |
| "I've ben looking at the beaches in Croatia" |
“I’ve been looking at all beaches in Croatia – they look so lovely. I heard about Dai’s and Diane’s retirement and it’s made me jealous.”
 |
| "Jason asked me if I'd be interested . . . " |
He tells her that they could be in the same position before long; “Jason’s asked whether I’d be interested in buying Dai’s and Diane’s shares in APD. It would be a way of investing and working towards retirement.”
 |
| "It would be more stress and more work" |
Gaynor thinks of it as more stress and more work; “It’s a quiet and comfortable life I want now.” He argues that she is too young to retire, so she suggests looking for another house, somewhere that is away from the village, but close enough for work;
 |
| "It would be a new start for both of us" |
“It would be a new start for us both.”
 |
| "Yes, it would be nice" |
Hywel agrees that would be nice, and she visualises them on the balcony with a glass of wine, looking over the sea. “Or would you rather be sweating in APD with Jason?” she demands.
 |
| "We shall have to look at what's on the market" |
He suggests that they had better have a look at what is on the market, but has been pre-empted;
 |
| Gaynor already has something in mind |
“As it happens, I’ve seen somewhere that’s perfect for us,” Gaynor tells him.
 |
| The Deri is very quiet again |
In the Deri, as Eifion can be seen lurking at the far end of the bar,
 |
| Rhys thought it was time for a date night |
Rhys informs Luned, “I thought it was about time we had a date night – you’ve had a hard week.”
 |
| "That alcoholic ex of yours" |
She answers, “My biggest problem is that crazy alcoholic ex of yours – she tripped over my gym bag on the street. She made such a big deal, collapsing on the floor in pain – and she was screaming that I did it on purpose. It’s an act – she’s looking for any excuse not to take part in this race,
 |
| "How did you cope with her?" |
“because she know she has no chance – pathetic! How did you cope with her?”
 |
| "Don't talk about Ffion like that!" |
Rhys objects to Luned talking about Ffion like this, and Luned complains, “You’re sticking up for her after she shouted at me?”
 |
| "I'm not taking sides" |
Rhys does not like the way Luned is talking, and maintains that he is not taking sides.
 |
| "That's the problem – you should be on my side!" |
“Exactly – and that’s the problem!” she grumbles, “You should be on my side. Are you sure you made the right decision, choosing me over her?” He replies that he is sure, but she does not believe him and walks out.
 |
| "What is your problem with us?" |
Sioned marches into the Deri and confronts Eifion; “You’re not happy unless you’re destroying people’s lives, are you? What is your problem with us? We’ve given you everything!”
 |
| "I was nothing more than a farmhand" |
He points out that he has been nothing more than a farmhand to them, and when she says that they treated him as family, he adds, “When it suited you –
 |
| "Once I make a mistake, you kick me out!" |
“but once I make a mistake, you just kick me out!”
 |
| "A scapegoat, are you?" |
She reckons that he regards himself as a scapegoat.
 |
| "You'll be the last to find out!" |
“Not this time, because I’ve got two fields in the middle of Penrhewl. I’m not sure yet what I’ll do with them, but when I do decide, you’ll be the last to find out!”
 |
| "You won't get away with it this time!" |
Sioned warns him that he will not get away with it this time, and marches out, but Eifion looks smug as usual.
