![]() |
"Were you trying to hurt me?" |

![]() |
"Why did you reject me, then?" |
and he continues, in his usual menacing fashion, “Why did you reject me, then?”
![]() |
"Because I'm scared" |
“Because I’m scared,” she whimpers
![]() |
A moment of bliss |
Mathew and Sioned have enjoyed an evening on the sofa together; “That food was lush,” he says, but now Sioned has to go and fetch the children,
![]() |
"They've been with Mam all day" |
reminding him that they have been with her mother all day.
“They’re bound to be asleep – stay with me,” he pleads
![]() |
She does not seem very eager to fetch them |
and she does not need any second bidding, but just as they are about to kiss, the door opens and Howard’s voice can be heard, urging Dani to stop.
![]() |
Dani bursts in |
Dani, however, has no intention of doing that, but marches in; Sioned demands what is wrong.
![]() |
"Where's your phone?" |
“Where is it?” Dani snarls, “Your phone – what’s the passcode? I’m not leaving here until I prove you’re the stalker! I thought we were OK after the party!”
![]() |
"There's been a misunderstanding, Dani" |
Mathew interrupts to say that there has been a misunderstanding; Dani shouts, “No – she’s been tormenting me – phoning me with a child crying!”

"You've got it wrong, Dani!" |
Sioned tries to explain to her that she has got this wrong and snatches the phone from her,
![]() |
"How could you do this to me?" |
as Dani continues to yell, “You’re a mother – how could you do this to me?”
![]() |
"Do you know what? I want you out!" |
By now Sioned has had quite enough; “Do you know what? I want you out! We’ll talk when you’ve cooled down.” Mathew insists that Sioned is not involved, so Dani cannot understand why she will not open her phone.
![]() |
"No, I won't be bullied!" |
“No – I won’t be bullied!” rages Sioned. Mathew tries to reason with her,
![]() |
"Just give her the phone, Sioned" |
encouraging her to just give Dani the phone, pointing out that she is under a lot of strain.
![]() |
Siôn glowers at him |
In a fury, Sioned slams the phone down on the table
![]() |
"I'm going to get the children" |
and says that she has to go and get the children. Dani carefully looks through the phone.
![]() |
"Try and prove how much I love you" |
Tom keeps up his performance; “All I’ve done is try to prove to you how much I love you –
![]() |
Gaynor now feels sheepish |
“that I want to be with you for ever – and I thought you felt the same. You’ve put me through so much and I’ve stuck with you through everything.”
![]() |
"Do you know how embarrassing it is?" |
He is now putting on an emotional show of tears as he continues, “Do you know how embarrassing it is to walk down the street, knowing everyone is talking about you being a fool and drink-driving? People have said disgusting things, always criticising you.
![]() |
"A lot of men would have walked away" — it's a pity you didn't |
“A lot of men would have walked away.”
![]() |
"But Maya was . . ." |
As always, this has the desired effect upon Gaynor, who begins to reply that Maya was . . . but he stops her there;
![]() |
"I should have known she was involved" |
“Maya? Of course – I should have known she was involved.”
![]() |
"She was very supportive" |
Gaynor attempts to explain that Maya was very supportive when she went back to work. “Of course she was – to your face,” Tom sneers, “She needed the staff.
![]() |
"Maya was the worst for gossiping!" |
“Maya was the worst for gossiping!”
Gaynor replies that she was very supportive, so he demands whether there is something wrong, adamant that he has a right to know.
![]() |
"She thinks you reported me" |
“She thinks that you reported me to the police for the drink-driving,” Gaynor admits.
![]() |
"Me? Why would I do that?" |

she had explained that Delyth did something similar.
![]() |
"And I'm being tarred with the same brush?" |

![]() |
"Did you threaten her?" |
“Did you threaten her?” he is asked and replies that he did not.
![]() |
"Do you think I'm trying to control you?" |
He insists that Maya is not a good friend to her; “Do you think I’m trying to control you?” At first Gaynor says no, but then adds that she does not know –
![]() |
"I don't know what's going on any more" |
she sometimes feels like she does not know what is going on any more.
![]() |
Dani has not found any evidence |
After an exhaustive search through Sioned’s phone, Dani is forced to admit to Mathew and Howard, that she has not found anything, suggesting that Sioned may have deleted it all.
![]() |
"She doesn't have time, Dani" |
“Even if she wanted to hurt you, what with running the farm and raising children, she doesn’t have time,” explains Mathew.
![]() |
"I'm sorry" |
Dani is sorry,
![]() |
"You've fallen out with Sioned now" |

"I hope you're not going to finish that without me" |
“I hope you’re not going to finish that without me,” he says.
Cai wonders what he is doing there and whether everything is all right;

“You don’t usually come over this late.”
![]() |
"I though you might want some company" |
Colin explains that Kylie and her friend wanted a lift to the cinema and he thought that Cai might want some company.
![]() |
"What's wrong, Colin?" |
Cai can see that there is something wrong and at first Colin puts on a brave face, asking how the gardening sessions are coming along;
![]() |
"Am I going to see you on Gardeners' World?" |
“Am I going to see you with Monty on Gardeners’ World any time soon? It’s good to have new hobbies –
![]() |
"I might have a word with Kylie" |
“I might have a word with Kylie to see if she’s interested, poor dab – something to lift her spirits.”
![]() |
"Britt has packed her things and gone to Newcastle" |
Then he finally admits to Cai, “Erm, Britt has packed her things and gone to Newcastle. She’s all right, but she’s very angry with me at the moment because . . . well, she found out I’ve been coming to see you.”
![]() |
"Does anyone else know?" |
Cai is concerned whether anyone else knows about Colin’s visits;
![]() |
"I can't be perfectly sure – because it's Britt" |
“I can’t be perfectly sure – because it’s Britt, but I made it clear that you don’t want anyone to know.”
![]() |
"I'm just use to living on my own" |
At Llwyncelyn, Gaynor goes on, “I’m just used to living on my own and doing what I want.”
![]() |
"Do I stop you doing things?" |
Tom demands whether he stops her doing things and she replies, “No, but sometimes you say things that make me question myself.”

"Give me an example" |
“Give me an example,” he snaps
![]() |
"When I wanted to go back to work last week . . ." |
and she recalls that when she wanted to go back to work last week . . . He interrupts to protest, “I didn’t stop you!” She points out that he did make her question herself.
![]() |

“Yes, because I was worried about you facing all that criticism,” he maintains, “I was trying to protect your feelings. What else have I done to control you?”
![]() |
"Maya said . . ." |
When she begins to answer, as soon as she mentions Maya’s name, he protests, “Maya again! For someone who hardly knows me,
![]() |
"She has a lot to say about me" |

![]() |
"Do I worry too much?" |
“But what? Do I worry too much? Do I want to be with you too much?
![]() |

she is never sure how he is going to react to things – and what he is going to do.
![]() |

He turns on the emotion once again, insisting that he was trying to be romantic.
![]() |
"In front of half the village?" |
“In front of half the village?” she gasps.
“Yes – seeing you feeling so low last week broke my heart. I wanted to prove to you and everyone else how special you are!” His extravagant performance does the trick, as he drones on, “Somehow that’s been interpreted as me being some sort of monster!”
![]() |
"I wasn't trying to make you feel like that" |
She stresses that she was not trying to make him feel like that; “Well, that’s how you made me feel,” he sobs and Gaynor looks horrified.
![]() |
"I'm so sorry, Tom" |
She sits down by him and puts her arm around him, telling him that she is so sorry.
![]() |
Sioned is back |

![]() |
She does not appear very forgiving |
She does not look in a particularly conciliatory mood.
“I just knew Dani would never leave you alone until she knew you weren’t responsible,” he goes on.
Sioned can understand that, but did not like the way he pushed her to give Dani the phone after she had said no.
![]() |
"How does Dani think I have the time?" |
“With raising two children and running a farm, how does Dani think I have time to stalk her?”
![]() |
"That's exactly what I told her" |
Mathew replies that he told Dani precisely that; “I didn’t question you for a second, honestly.
![]() |
"Do you think you have time for me?" |
“Now, between running a farm, raising two children and being accused of stalking Dani, do you think you have time for me?”

![]() |
"If you want proof – there it is" |
“I couldn’t help it – if you ever want proof of how much you mean to me, there it is.”
There is a knock at the door and Gaynor can see that it is Iolo;
![]() |
"I don't want him to see me like this" |
Tom does not want her to let him in, but he has already seen that they are there
“I don’t want him to see me like this,” Tom insists,

so she goes to the front door, closing the folding door to the room.
![]() |
Tom is eavesdropping |
Tom listens carefully to the conversation.

"Maya asked me to give you these" |
“She had to leave in a hurry, but she asked me to give you these.” He hands over the keys to the pharmacy,

then asks quietly if she is sure she is all right and she assures him that she is.
![]() |
"Tom and I can have some peace" |
“I just hope now that Maya has gone, Tom and I can have some peace,” she says and Iolo leaves.

"Well, that's your problem" |
“That’s your problem,” Cai replies; Colin can see that he is doing so much better,
![]() |
"Poor Lleucu is desperate to see you . . ." |
but poor Lleucu is desperate to see him. Cai tells him that it is time to go, but Colin is undeterred,
![]() |
". . . why don't you want her to see you?" |
wanting to understand why he does not want to see his daughter and insisting that it is not right.
“Because I don’t deserve to see her –
![]() |
"It's my punishment for trying to kill myself!" |
“it’s my punishment for trying to kill myself!” Colin is of the opinion that he has punished himself enough; he admits that he is not an expert – but there are plenty of them there
![]() |
"Talk to them – for Lleucu's sake" |
and he begs Cai to talk to them about all this – for Lleucu’s sake.
![]() |
Colin turns to go . . . |
He picks up his jacket and leaves,
![]() |
. . . leaving Cai to ponder on his words |
but he has made Cai think.
![]() |
"If you won the lottery . . ." |
As they sit, waiting for the police to arrive, at Maes-y-Deri, Howard is looking at a magazine and ask Dani, “If you won the lottery, what car would you choose? A Range Rover or a BMW?”

![]() |
"Will the see it as a serious offence?" |
“Will they really see a couple of phone calls as a serious offence?” she sighs, but he points out that there is a paper trail now that she has reported it.
He just hopes that she gets some answers,
![]() |
"I wouldn't say no to a cup of tea" |
adding that he would not say no to a cup of tea, if she is offering. She agrees that he deserves one,

![]() |
She is engrossed in her phone |
Kylie seems to be taking no notice of him, but rather looking at her phone;
![]() |
"I'm not bothered!" |
she snaps, “I’m not bothered!”
Colin is becoming exasperated; “Look, I know you miss Britt, but you can’t talk to me like that – because I’m trying my best. Look at me when I’m talking to you!”
![]() |
Colin grabs the phone |
He snatches the phone from her; “I didn’t have to take you to the cinema!”
![]() |
"Another chance to see your girlfriend!" |
“No, but it was another chance to see your girlfriend!” is her response, as she retrieves the phone.
![]() |
"What girlfriend?" |
He wonders what girlfriend she is talking about, as Kylie continues,

![]() |

![]() |
"They want you to go to the station with them" |
