They both think that is not like Kylie and Britt says that she was not herself this morning.

Britt flies off the handle once more; “So I have to deal with it again?”

He replies that he will come over to the flat once Eileen is back.

She marches angrily out of the shop,

then has to calm down to serve the next customer, who is Llinos. He comments, “Who would raise children, then?”

At Bryntirion, Jason begs his mother, “Can we talk now, please?” There is a knock at the door;

Jason finds that it is Rhys, who had heard that he was home. “Good news travels fast, doesn’t it?” says Jason.
“I want the truth about what’s been going on in the van!” Rhys insists,

but Jason does not know the answer.

“People think I am involved – and Ceffyl Du is suffering – it was dead last night!”

Jason points out, “That’s not my fault!” but is reminded that he has been charged.

“Wrongly!” Jason snarls, begging his mother to say something.
“There we are – Mami will look after you,” sneers Rhys

and Diane demands what that is supposed to mean. Rhys wonders if she will help him to clear his name.

"It's a 'cop-out'!" |
“I can’t do anything until the police say something publicly,” she growls, so she is accused of simply protecting her son.

"I'm not going to listen to this!" |
Diane is not going to stay there and listen to this, picks up her coat and leaves the house.

“She’s finding this hard enough as it is,” Jason explains,

so is invited by Rhys to tell everyone what is going on, so that he – and Jason’s mother – can move on.

At the breakfast table in Penrhewl, Howard asks, “When are we being kicked out, then?” Sioned assures him that it will not be yet, as her mother has not accepted the offer officially yet.

Mathew assumes that she will do and Sioned describes it as too good an offer to turn down.

She admits, “With this and DJ, I don’t know whether I'm coming or going this week.”

Howard reassures her that they are here for her through it all, for which she is grateful.

She will go and get Lili ready; “Mam will be here to take her to Elinor now –

Howard suggests that they could do something to lift her spirits,

but Matthew wonders how they will do that. “The swing is almost ready – perhaps today is the day,” Howard goes on, “I can come down to APD to do the finishing touches, then you can help me to bring it up here?”

Mathew agrees, but not very enthusiastically.

At Bryntirion, Rhys asks, “Do you really think DJ would do something like that? Work with the drugs gang and let you take the blame?”

Jason maintains that there is no other answer. “It just doesn’t sound like DJ, that’s all,” Rhys muses.

Rhys recalls that he did run away – and lie.

There is the sound of the back door, which Jason assumes is his mother again, so Rhys, who is now becoming more sympathetic, will leave them to talk,

As they sit outside APD with cups of tea, Diane tells Anita, “Ieuan wants us to make a statement on behalf of the council, condemning Fflamingos.”

Anita urges her to forget about the council for a minute and asks how she is coping – and Jason.

“I really thought he’d turned over a new leaf this time – but what if it’s a lie again?” groans D iane.

Mathew comes out and demands where the van is; Anita was under the impression that he and Howard had it, but they have Penrhewl’s truck.

Then Anita remembers, or at least thinks she remembers, that the tiling team said they were taking it to . . . Ammanford.

“It’s really important that we keep a record of who takes the van!” Mathew insists, “Write it down or something – do you mind phoning them to check, please?”

As he is about to go back inside APD, Anita asks, “How have you found Jason recently? Has he been acting strangely? You know – suspicious or nervous?”

"He's more like himself since coming back" |
Mathew has not noticed anything, adding that he is more like himself since coming back; “He’s working hard, trying to make up for . . . you know.”

Then she points out to Diane, “That doesn’t sound like someone who hides drugs in a van, does it?”

Diane knows very well that Jason is used to hiding things; she wants to believe him, but is not sure that she can any more.

“A drugs raid, DJ!” snarls Jason, “In a horse-box! Your father is worried sick, Mam is driving herself mad – and you disappeared!”

His answer is that he needed time to think.
“About what?” Jason demands. DJ whimpers that he just panicked when he saw the cops and Jason being arrested. He did not know what was going on and wonders why Rhys is there.

“And you’ll get one – but let me talk to Jason first,” DJ tells him. Rhys is reluctant, but Jason persuades him to go.

“This is your mess, isn’t it? The drugs you found in the nightclub – isn’t it?” Eventually DJ confesses that it is. “Right, well, give me one good reason why I shouldn’t call the pigs now!” Jason snarls.

“You don’t need to, because I’m going down there later to confess everything,” DJ begins, so Jason and enquires what he is doing there, in that case. “I came to see you – I had to apologise. Listen, I was desperate, Jase – I needed money for the kids.”

Jason reminds him that they had a plan – a plan that did not involve breaking the law.

“But it wasn’t enough – Sioned was struggling – I had to do something. You must understand – you would have done the same for Ifan!”

As Diane and Anita walk towards the Deri, a police officer is still asking questions. “We’ll have lunch in the Deri and forget all about it,” proposes Anita, but Diane responds that is easier said than done.

but Rhys just wants to apologise, confessing that he should not have snapped at them; he was just frustrated with the way the whole thing is affecting Ceffyl Du.
Diane again advises that she cannot agree to make a statement before the police say something.

He adds that it is not fair to wrongly blame Jason, either. Diane remembers that he was after Jason’s blood earlier on, and he now explains that there are two sides to every story.

He goes across the road to where a police officer is standing and tells her, “I know where DJ Ashurst is and where you can find him.” Diane is watching from outside the Deri.

DJ whines that he wishes that he could turn the clock back.

DJ is in tears as he insists how sorry he is,

DJ promises to clear his name and then everything will be all right; Jason is understandably not convinced, as he goes on, “I just need to do one thing first.” Jason looks malevolently at him.

Colin is sitting very anxiously on the sofa in the MFC flat when Britt returns with Kylie; “No – in the front room, please,” says Britt,

but Colin tells her to allow Kylie to go to her room if she wants.

“No – I’ve wasted half my day speaking to the head of year!” Britt moans,

Colin admonishes her, “If she wants some peace, give her some peace, Britt!” However, she is adamant that Kylie is not going to hide in her room, but they need to sort this out now.

The door opens and Jason comes in. DJ says that he got what he wanted from upstairs;

Jason offers to take them for the children, while DJ goes to the police,

DJ promises to do so, again stressing how sorry he is for everything.

Jason is visited by the police at Bryntirion after Rhys’ tip-off; “He was here – but I couldn’t phone you – my phone is with you,” he tells them. He is asked what time DJ left, which was about half an hour ago.
