"I don't want to hurt you"

“I don’t want to hurt you,” says Gwern, but the DS simply asks who gave him the gun and suspects that it was his Dad.   “No, it was Tyler’s – I found it,” he answers, “Are are you going to arrest me because of this?”

"All I want is to get you home to Dani safely"

“All I want is to get you home to Dani safely,” she tells him, “Don’t worry about the gun – I’ll get rid of it – no-one will find out.   But you need to trust me, Gwern – I want to help, OK?”   

Gwern starts to lower the gun

He has lowered the gun and nods his head.

"I'm going to take it from you, OK?"

“In a second, I’m going to reach for the gun and I’m going to take it from you, OK?”   

He handed it over . . .

She does so, and he hands it over without any resistance.   The DS puts it in her pocket, and warns him, “Don’t tell anyone that I got rid of it – or we’ll both be in big trouble.   

. . . and they leave the clubhouse

“Right, home,” and they leave the clubhouse.

Dani is overjoyed

Outside, they are all waiting anxiously, and when Dani sees Gwern, she runs to him.   

The DS hugs Maya

The DS goes to hug Maya, pleased to have disarmed Gwern.   She asks if there is any news about Sioned, 

'Delyth'? — she has been SOPHIE Fielding since 2016

and Maya replies that she is not sure, but it does not look good.   “Missing child case – it’s over,” says ‘Delyth’, 

"I have to pop into the station"

“I’m going to have to pop into the station on the way home – a report I have to make.”   Maya recognises the word for ‘report’ and says that she hates it.

"Come on – let's get home"

Arwen wonders where Howard went, but Ffion simply wants to get home.   

"Is Sioned going to die?"

“Is Sioned going to die?” Arwen asks, 

"She's with the specialists now"

and her mother stresses that she is with the specialists now, who will do everything they can.

DJ is anxiously waiting

DJ is sitting very anxiously in the waiting room when Eileen arrives in an extremely distraught state;  

"Is she all right?"

“Is she all right?” she demands, but he replies that they have said nothing, although he has asked several times.

"I can't lose her as well!"

“I’ve lost John and Angela – I can’t lose her as well,” Eileen sobs, and he gets her to sit down.

"They have to talk to us!"

“One minute she was running and the next . . . this isn’t fair – they have to talk to us, we’re her family!” he exclaims, and goes out of the door to get more information.

"They're threatening to withdraw their offer"

In the Deri, Kelly is on the phone to one of the clients;  “What I’m saying, Mr Fletcher, is that they’re threatening to withdraw their offer because the problems that came up in the survey are off the scale, like.”

Rhys is enjoying this

Rhys has come in and is listening to her conversation, 

"Mr Fletcher?"

but apparently Mr Fletcher has terminated the call, which makes him laugh.   

"No way will you hit this week's target"

“Trouble selling Seiriol’s, is it?” he chuckles, “No way will you hit this week’s target now!”

"Everything is fine, Rhys"

She angrily replies that everything is fine;  “I’m ahead of my target, anyway.”   He recommends that she should give up now, boasting that the job is all but his.

"You can't beat meeting a new learner"

Siôn comes in, commenting, “You can’t beat meeting a new learner – do either of you want to be a language buddy?   There’s a big demand – I’m meeting another one later.”

"Seriously, Siôn – me as a Welsh buddy?"

“Seriously, Siôn – me as a Welsh buddy?” snarls Kelly, “I can’t even do mutations, let alone teach someone else.”   

Rhys is sniggering 

Rhys is again laughing, and Siôn realises that perhaps she is not such a good choice.

"Oh – Sioned is in hospital!"

Then he has a message on his phone to advise him that Sioned is in hospital;  “She collapsed unconscious on the rugby field – and Arwen has found Gwern.”

"Whoa – brain overload!"

“Whoa – brain overload!” says Kelly, “First of all, is Sioned OK?”   

Siôn will find out more

He is going to phone Cai for more information.   Rhys seems genuinely worried and remarks that he saw Sioned out jogging earlier;  Kelly suspects concussion, but he can see an opportunity here.

"If you want a break from work . . ."

“If you want a break from work, I can phone the customers,” he offers.

"You're all about your personal interests"

“Will you, Rhys?” she growls, “Your mate’s collapsed and you’re all about your personal interests.   

"Have you got a heart?"

“Have you got a heart?   I seriously doubt it sometimes.

"I can't find out any more"

At number 7, Ffion has not been able to get any more information from Cai, and tells Arwen that they will be going home in a minute.

"It's sorted – just trust me, OK"

She is in the kitchen with Gwern and asks where the gun is now, but he replies that it is sorted;  “Just trust me, OK – Fielding’s sorted it, but we’re not telling anyone, OK?”

"It was a total nightmare!"

She warns him not to ever disappear again;  “It was a total nightmare!”

"I don't know where to start with him"

In the other room, Dani tells Ffion that he has not explained why he did it;  “I don’t know where to start with him.”   

"He needs counselling"

Ffion suggests a counsellor, and assures her that the school will support her.   Dani appreciates that.

"Where have you been?"

Fielding arrives in the Deri, Maya demands where she has been;  “We said half past.”   ‘Delyth’ replies that she has been for a walk to clear her head.

"No more news about Sioned"

When Siôn passes, he tells them that there is no more news about Sioned;  “I heard you did really well with the CPR,” he says, 

and Maya cannot get thoughts of Sioned out of her head.   

"You're hiding something, Delyth"

Then she looks across at ‘Delyth’ and can tell that she is hiding something.

“You’ve heard something about Sioned, through your work,” 

"I'm not, I promise"

but this is denied.   Maya is very anxious that she will be OK.

Kelly is very downhearted

Kelly is sitting, looking very depressed, 

"Have you seen a short man with a moustache?"

as Siôn approaches and asks if she has seen a short man with a moustache.   “My learner hasn’t turned up,” he complains.   

"You'd make a great language buddy"

“By the way, what you said earlier – you’d make a great language buddy.”

"I've had a shocking day"

“Not today, Siôn – I’ve had a shocking day, serious,” she groans, 

"Yes, everyone's thinking about Sioned"

and he appreciates that everyone is thinking about Sioned.   

“I’m so selfish,” she sighs, “I’ve been thinking about the sale that fell through, but not Sioned.   Yeah, obviously, Sioned.”

"You shouldn't be so hard on yourself"

He says that life can be complicated sometimes and that she should not be so hard on herself.   She groans, “I refused to play rugby today because I’m stressed about work – 

"I don't like the person I'm turning into!"

“honestly, Siôn, I don’t like the person I’m turning into!”

He maintains that they are a society that is obsessing about their work and about their egos.   

"That's why I pulled out of the council race"

“That’s why I pulled out of the council race – I like the idea of it – the big I am.   But I can still do work in the community without being a councillor, don’t you think?”   Kelly agrees with that, and walks over to the bar.

"Is Kelly all right?"

Rhys comes across and asks him if she is all right;  

"Disappointed about an unsuccessful sale"

“She’s worried about Sioned – and disappointed about an unsuccessful sale,” Siôn replies.

"It means I get my job back!"

At this, Rhys rubs his hands together, and gloats, “Oh yes – it means I get my job back!”   

Kelly is watching him . . .

Kelly is watching, 

. . . and Siôn is offended

as Siôn is offended by Rhys’ attitude.

"You've won and I've lost"

When she returns to her seat, she comments, “Talking of egos, congrats, Rhys – you’ve won and I’ve lost.”

"At least you know how to lose the photocopier"

He advises her to put a positive spin on it;  “At least you know how to use the photocopier.”   

Siôn is becoming angry

Siôn looks very disapproving.

"She had a cardiac arrest"

At the hospital, DJ returns and reports that Sioned is still with them;  “She had a cardiac arrest, but she’s OK.”   

Eileen hugs him

Eileen throws her arms around him.

"He's playing 'Fortnite', probably"

Mark returns home to find that Gwern is upstairs in his room;  “Playing ‘Fortnite’, probably,” says Dani, “What’s going to happen to him, Mark?”   

"He's home and he's safe"

He replies that the boy is home and he is safe – that is all that matters today, but he definitely needs counselling;  he will get there.

"There isn't much hope for him, is there?"

She is doubtful about that, “Because he’ll always be Garry’s son – and his mother’s son.   There isn’t much hope for him, is there?”

"We've turned out OK, don't you think?"

Mark replies, “Listen, nobody knows more about living in their parents’ shadow than you and me – and we’ve turned out OK, don’t you think?   You need a good night’s sleep and to stop going over things in your head.   Right, takeaway tonight – I don’t think either of us feel like cooking, do we?   

"As he's got a crush on you"

“I’m going to ask Jinx for a freebie pizza – as he’s got a crush on you.”

"You can't do that, Mark"

She protests that he cannot do that, 

"He might throw in a bottle of pop!"

but he continues, “Why not?   You never know, he might throw in a bottle of pop!   I’m right, aren’t I?”

Cai looks depressed

Cai sits glumly in the Deri and is sending a text message;  

Hywel sends a text to Nesta

‘Please tell the children how much Dadi loves them.’   

Siôn asks how long he has been there, and Cai thinks that it is about half an hour.

"I'm sure you were shaken up on the field"

“I’m sure you were shaken up on the field earlier – Ffion said she had a heart attack.   She’s going to be all right it seems, but she is in an induced coma for now.”

"I pushed her too far, Siôn"

Cai is convinced that he pushed her too far, but Siôn is sure that had nothing to do with it, 

"We need to support each other"

and they need to support each other, not look back.   “If you don’t mind, I’m going home,” says Cai, 

Cai leaves half his drink behind 

and he leaves half a pint of beer behind.

"Ken, you know what the deal was"

As Kelly is preparing to leave, Rhys gleefully reminds her, “Kel, you know what the deal was – if you failed to meet the targets, I’d get my job back.   Sorry, but it’s only fair.”

"You're like a stuck record!"

“Rhys!” she snaps, “You’re like a stuck record!” and he leaves the pub, still chuckling to himself.   

"Good news about Sioned!"

Siôn comes across and tells her the good news about Sioned.

"I didn't know Griffiths was playing you against each other"

He also apologises for telling Rhys the truth;  “I didn’t know Griffiths was playing you against each other.”   

She concedes that it makes sense, as Rhys is the salesperson – who could sell water to a tap.

"It's not for me, Siôn"

“Dealing with white lies all the time – it’s not for me, Siôn.”   He agrees that she is all about the truth, and always has been.   

"There might be a story there"

“Isn’t it strange that Rhys left his big job in Cardiff?   The one that he was ‘head-hunted’ for – there might be a story there.”

She replies that he wanted to come back when he finished with Tesni, but Siôn points out that it might be worth making a few phone calls to find out what happened.

Kelly plans what she is going to do

The idea has now been firmly planted in Kelly’s head, and he wonders, “What have you got to lose?”

“Malws melys,” says Ffion, handing her daughter a mug.   

"No-one says that, Mam"

Arwen protests that no one says that;  they are marshmallows.

Reusable period pads

“Right, I’ve got you a present from the vegan shop in Carmarthen;  “Reusable period pads – you see, I was concentrating on that Greta Thunberg programme.”

"I'm worried about Gwern"

Arwen is grateful to her mother, but admits that she is worried about Gwern;  “I’m glad he’s back, but he does need help.”   

"He doesn't have the stability you have"

Ffion says that it is hard for him without his mother, as he does not have the stability which Arwen has.

"I hope Howard is all right"

The buzzer sounds, and as Siôn comes up the stairs, Arwen hopes that Howard is also all right, as he is not answering her texts.   

"I don't want you texting him any more"

Ffion does not want her texting him any more.

"With malws melys?|

Ffion offers Siôn a hot chocolate, and Arwen impresses him when she suggests, “With malws melys?”   

"You're somewhat of a hero"

He has heard that she is somewhat of a hero, but she insists that she did not do anything.

"A fit young woman like Sioned"

“It’s such a relief about Gwern – and Sioned,” he says, and Ffion finds it hard to believe, with a fit young woman like that.   

"Cai was in a strange mood in the Deri"

He asks her how Cai is these days, adding that he was in a strange mood in the Deri, as if he blames himself for what happened to Sioned.   “He’s overthinking things at the moment.”

He has told Ffion that he has a lot on his mind;  

"Llion has moved in with Nesta"

“I phoned Val earlier, and she told me that Llion has moved in with Nesta, although they have only just met.   Nesta didn’t think that Cai knew, but he’s obviously found out.   It’s no wonder that he’s stressed, poor thing.”

Cai is back at Y Felin 

Cai has arrived back at Y Felin;  

He looks across at a photograph . . .

he glances across at a photo of Siôn and his late wife, Gwen, Cai’s sister.   

. . . and with tears in his eyes . . .

This does nothing to improve his humour and he is almost in tears 

. . . goes upstairs

as he turns and goes upstairs.   

In the bathroom . . .

He goes into the bathroom, carrying a tin, 

. . . he gazes into the mirror

looks at himself in the mirror and intends to do something.

Kelly makes a phone call

Kelly is making some phone calls;  she dials a number 

"Hello, my name is Sarah James"

and begins, in English, “Hello, my name is Sarah James and I work for an estate agent in Llanelli.   

"A former employee of yours, Mr Rhys Llywelyn"

“Now, a former employee of yours, Mr Rhys Llywelyn, has enquired about a job.”

There is a lengthy pause before she resumes, 

"Thanks for the information"

“Thank you for the information – thanks now, bye-bye.”   

"Gotcha, Rhys Llywelyn!"

She has a look of satisfaction on her face.

Cai is still in the bathroom . . .

In the bathroom at Y Felin, Cai is looking even worse when Siôn accidentally walks in on him.   

. . . when Siôn walks in

After apologising, he asks, “What are you doing?   Your leg’s bleeding – 

"Are you all right?"

“are you all right?”   

"Get out, Siôn!"

Cai tells him to get out and slams the door in his face.

Eileen and DJ are at last allowed in

At last Eileen and DJ are allowed in to see Sioned;  

"You've been here too many times"

“Oh, Sioned, love, you’ve been here too many times.   Are doctors are keeping you asleep, you see, 

"You'll be home soon"

“but you’ll be home soon, you’ll see.   You wouldn’t believe how many people have asked about you – I’ve put a message on Facebook to say you’re OK.”

"There's still a risk of brain damage"

DJ would like a word with Eileen;  “Listen, I wasn’t completely straight with you about what the doctor said – there’s still a risk of brain damage.”   

"You said the scans were clear"

She reminds him that he said the scans were clear, and he explains, “On her heart, yes – but it’s still a bit early to say about the head.   Her heart stopped for a long time.”

She snarls that he should have told her, 

"I didn't know how to tell you"

and he points out that she was so glad Sioned was still alive, he did not know how to tell her.   “But I’ve been with you for hours!” she protests 

Eileen returns to her daughter

and returns to Sioned’s side.
