15 April 2026

Stripped to the waist again?

Ows is up early

Some tidying up to be done

amidst all the empty bottles and cans lying around at Y Felin;  when Siwsi comes downstairs, she finds him putting on his trousers.

"Want a cup of tea?"

She is going to make a cup of tea and asks whether he wants one.   He assumes that she has a hangover.

“Yeah – I’m off today, thankfully – I work at Brynawelon nursing home.”

Lleucu comes down . . .

When Lleucu also comes downstairs,

. . . as he has put on his T-shirt

he has put on his T-shirt and she also offers him a cup of tea,

Off he goes for a quick 5k

but he replies that he had better go, so that he can get a quick 5k in.

"Yes?"

As soon as he has left, Siwsi can see from the broad smile on Lleucu’s face that something has happened;

"He was so lovely, Siwsi!"

“He was so lovely, Siwsi!”

Jinx is outside his shop

Jinx is standing outside The Pizza Place, looking up at it, when Kelly approaches;

"Penny for them?"

“Penny for them?” she remarks, but he says that she does not want to know.

"What do I do with my life?"

He is just thinking about what to do with his life,

"Heavy!"

which she regards as, “Heavy!” and assumes that he is fed up with the place.

“Yep – me, too,” she goes on,

"Good idea for, like, two minutes"

“Good idea for, like, two minutes – liability for a lot longer!

"Nothing lasts for ever"

“Jinx, nothing lasts for ever – even good ideas.”

"Good luck with whatever you decide"

She wishes him good luck with whatever he decides.

"I'm never drinking again!"

When Indeg appears, she vows that she is never drinking again;

“Until the next time,” says Siwsi, “It’s all coming back to me – who was it?” she asks Lleucu,

"The one who kept me awake"

“Don’t deny it – the one who kept me awake.”

"Who wants some toast?"

Siwsi tries to change the subject, asking who would like some toast, but Indeg is insistent, “I could hear you through the walls – come on – I want to hear everything!”

"That lovely bloke at Ceffyl Du"

“You know that lovely bloke we met in Ceffyl Du the other night?” begins Lleucu, “Ows, that’s him.”

"The bloke I slept with?"

Indeg snarls, “The bloke I slept with after being in Ceffyl Du the other night?”

"You slept with him as well?"

Lleucu is horrified that he slept with Indeg as well.

"I said I liked him!"

Indeg stresses that she had said she liked him and, as Siwsi urges them not to fall out about this, she storms out of the house,

Lleucu is left feeling awkward

leaving Lleucu feeling very awkward.

Sioned is wrapping parcels

Sioned is packing various items of clothing into bags and affixing postage labels to them.

"The children are strapped in . . ."

Mathew comes in, reporting that the children are strapped in,

". . . but Lili wanted you to have these"

“But Lili wanted you to have these before we go,” presenting Sioned with some flowers.

He adds, “OK, it was me, because I know you like them,”

Good to see that their relationship has survived

and he kisses her;  she regards them as better than a hundred red roses

"I thought that red roses were romantic"

“And there was me thinking there was nothing more romantic than red roses,” he says.

"Roses are all for show"

“You’re wrong – roses are all for show,” she maintains,

"Like weddings?"

and he likens that to weddings.

"And daffodils are free"

“Exactly – and at least daffodils are free.”

"The bill for the crèche has arrived"

Then she informs him that she has decided to sell some of her stuff online, as she does not get a lot of chance to wear them, also that the bill for the crèche has arrived.

"Somewhere Jac hates"

“I’m paying a fortune to send Jac and Lili to somewhere Jac hates!”

"Jac will be fine, OK?"

Mathew knows that looking after a farm and two children is a lot to ask;  “But Jac will be fine, OK?   Right, I’ll see you later.”

Kelly positions a security camera . . .

We have a camera’s-eye-view of Kelly,

. . . in Anita's room

as she works out where to position a small covert camera in Anita’s room at Brynawelon.

"Anita's in the lounge"

Indeg comes into the room and points out that Anita is in the lounge.   “Yes, I know,” says Kelly and is told that Indeg is just collecting her cardigan.

"I've put a camera up there . . ."

“Say cheese!” Kelly tells her, “I’ve put a camera up there –

". . . to catch whoever's been stealing"

“to catch whoever has been stealing from Auntie Neet.”

"Do you suspect anyone?"

Indeg enquires who is under suspicion, with Kelly replying that they will see soon enough.

"You're good with Anita"

She thanks Indeg;  “You’re good with Anita – coming to see her and stuff,” but Indeg needed an excuse to get out of the house,

"We are sort of related"

adding that she is sort of related.

"Not everyone would make the effort"

“I know, but not everyone would make an effort with old people,” Kelly appreciates,

"She's not that old"

although Indeg insists that she is not that old.   “Perhaps her condition makes her seem old,” sighs Kelly and Indeg suggests that you can trust old people more than young people.

"You can't trust anyone"

Kelly is of the opinion, “You can’t trust anyone,”

Indeg is reminded about the cardigan

then reminds Indeg that she has not collected the cardigan.

One last look at the camera

She takes one last look at the camera before leaving the room.

Garry is locking away some papers

Garry is at the office in Brynawelon, putting some papers into a box and then locking it.

"Nothing for you to worry about"

When Eleri comes in, she asks what is in the box, so he simply replies, “Just stuff – nothing for you to worry about.”

"My name's on the door"

“My name was on the door last time I looked,” she tells him, with a note of irritation.

“Perhaps my name should be up there – my money paid for the place,” Garry reminds her,

"Have you talked to Jinx?"

“Have you talked to Jinx about the business yet?”   She replies that she did not promise that she would;

"I can't understand why you want it so much"

she cannot understand why he wants it so much.

"For my family's future"

“Its location – the centre of the village, not many overheads.   Not for me – somewhere for the future.”   She was under the impression that he had decided he does not have a future.   “My family’s future, then.”

"After you've gone"

“After you’ve gone,” she says, with mock sincerity.   He wonders what is wrong with that.   “What if he doesn’t want to sell?” she wonders.

"Everyone has their price"

Garry confidently informs her, “Everyone has their price!”

Rhys has a disappointing message

Rhys is very disappointed to receive a text message from Kelly, ‘Need to take a rain check at lunchtime.”

"Who's put pepper in your coffee?"

He is sitting in the deli and Mathew can see that something is wrong.   “Who’s put pepper in your coffee?   Are you OK?” he asks.

"Second time she's cancelled this week"

“It’s the second time she’s cancelled this week,” Rhys moans, “It’s pretty obvious what she thinks of me.”

"Kelly must have a good reason"

Mathew is sure that Kelly must have a good reason;

Rhys goes on, “Yes, but a man’s pride can only take so much rejection.”

Mathew cannot believe that he is giving up, but he says that he has already given up.   “Come on – give her a chance!” Mathew urges him.

"How many chances does she need?"

“How many chances does she need?   I know how to take no for an answer.”   Mathew points out that she has not said no, but Rhys answers, “What’s that if it’s not a no?   I like her, but I’m not going to beg.”

"I'm sure this can be fixed"

Mathew is sure that this can be fixed,

Ows comes in

but at that moment Ows comes in and is introduced to Mathew.

"Cassie's my grandmother"

“Cassie’s my grandmother,’ he says,

Cassie has just arrived . . .

just as she comes in through the door;  “She’s kept it really quiet.”

. . . but rapidly leaves again

Cassie turns round and leaves again.

Ows does not want to sit down, but just needs water;  he says that he is running to Llanarthur.

"Do you have half a minute?"

Kelly has just arrived back at number 7 and is closing the door, when Matthew follows her in, asking whether she has half a minute.   She generously suggests that she may be able to stretch to a minute.

"You can tell me to mind my own business"

“Listen, you can tell me to my my own business,” he begins,

"Sioned can say it to my face!"

so Kelly insists that if Sioned has something to say, she can say it to her face.

"I'm not here on behalf of Sioned"

Mathew continues that he is not there on Sioned’s behalf;

"Oh, I get it – Rhys!"

“Oh, I get it – Rhys!   If he has something to say . . .”

Mathew goes on that Rhys does not know he is there,

"He thinks you've lost interest"

“But he is getting fed up – with waiting for something to happen.   He thinks you’ve lost interest because you keep cancelling?”

"Oh, men and their egos!   Honestly!"

“Twice!” shouts Kelly, “Oh, men and their egos!   Honestly!”   Mathew insists that he just does not want her to miss the chance, nothing more.   Rhys is not going to hang around for ever.

"Right, I've said my piece"

He has said his piece and will now go.

"What do you suggest I do?"

“What do you suggest I do?” asks Kelly.

"I've told him it's not for sale!"

Eleri goes over to number 9 to inform Jinx that Garry still has his eye on The Pizza Place.   “I’ve told him, it’s not for sale!” he insists,

"He won't stop until he gets it"

but she reminds him that if Garry wants something, he will not stop until he gets it.

“Why?   I can’t see Garry wearing an apron,” he protests,

"It's something for the children"

so she informs him that it is something for the children and that he is thinking of the future.

"And what about my future?"

“Right – and what about my future?   I can’t afford to sell that place for what he’s offering.”

"Would you sell for the right price?"

Eleri wonders whether he would sell for the right price.   “It’s worth more than £100,000,” so he suggests that she might be willing to persuade him to make a sensible offer.

"I can't get blood out of a stone"

“I can do a lot of things, but I can’t get blood out of a stone,” she answers, “But perhaps you could – stand your ground – tell him you’re not interested until he makes a sensible offer.”

"I don't want to make him angry"

Jinx does not want to make him angry, but is told, “You can’t let him bully you into accepting a low price either.   If you want to sell, the last person that should know is Garry.

"Where's your business savvy, Huw?"

“Where’s your business savvy, Huw?   He obviously wants the place, so he’s bound to offer more – trust me!

"That's my advice"

“Right, I’ve given you my advice – it’s up to you if you want to take it.”

"What's going on, Math?"

Rhys arrives at Penrhewl, demanding, “What’s going on?”   He quotes the message sent to him by Mathew;  “Come up as soon as you can.”

"I couldn't tell you on the phone"

Mathew did not want to frighten him;  “I couldn’t tell you on the phone – come on!”   Rhys wants to know where they are going,

"Follow me to the fields"

but is simply told, “Just follow me to the fields.”

"I run a bar, not a farm"

“I run a bar, not a farm!” Rhys protests,

"We can go on the quad"

but Matthew suggests that they can go on the quad.

Sioned has lost a couple of carrots

Sioned is carrying a box of Cae Glas produce along the High Street, when a couple of carrots fall from the top.   Ows picks them up for her and he introduces himself,

"Cassie's my gran"

remarking that Cassie is his grandmother.   She is outside the Deri, looking suspiciously at him.

"I didn't know she was a grandmother"

was unaware that Cassie was a grandmother, and he remarks that she would never admit it.

"So Steffan's your father?"

Jinx is also nearby and works out, “So Steffan is your father?   I’ve heard of him.”=

"I know what he's trying to do"

Outside the Deri, Cassie remarks to Kath, "I know exactly what he's trying to do – he's telling everyone I'm his grandmother.   Kath reminds her that is the truth.

“And that I turned my back on him,” Cassie continues.

Ows is approaching
As he is approaching

"Keep a cool head, mind"

Kath advises that she should keep a cool head.   “He’s like a shadow – here we go!” Cassie groans and tells Ows to go away.

"Why is she shutting me out?"

“I just want to talk,” he says, but Cassie has nothing to say to him and goes inside.   “Why is she shutting me out?” he asks Kath,

"Do you really have to ask that?"

who cannot believe that he really has to ask that question.

In  a field . . .

The Penrhewl quad (presumably with its new tyres) arrives in a field;  Mathew gets off and points out something to Rhys.

. . . Rhys discovers Kelly waiting for him

He sees Kelly sitting on a blanket, complete with a picnic for them;

"What on earth?"

“What on earth?” he demands, as Mathew drives away.

She has a glass of wine for him

Kelly holds up a glass of wine for him.

Lleucu does not want to be in the same room as Indeg

At Y Felin, Indeg comes back, so Lleucu prepare to go upstairs;  “I don’t know why you’re upset with me,” grumbles Indeg.

"Tell Indeg I don't want to talk to her"

Lleucu asks Siwsi, “Will you tell Indeg I don’t want to talk to her?”

"Haven't you every had a one night stand before?"

“Come on – you had a one night stand – haven’t you ever had a one night stand before?” sneers Indeg.

"No, I haven't . . .

“No, I haven’t, if you must know!” snarls Lleucu, “I don’t believe in sleeping with just anyone –

". . . and it was special"

“this was more than a one night stand – it was special.”

"Was he your first time?"

Siwsi asks, “Lleucs, was he your first time?”

"Stop it, will you?"

Lleucu tells them to stop it and runs upstairs.

"Can I tempt you with a grape, madame?"

On their picnic blanket Rhys asks, “Can I tempt you with a grape, madame?”

"I'm stuffed!"

Kelly replies that she is stuffed,

"Just one little grape?"

but he urges her that it is only one little grape,

Kelly agrees

so she succumbs to his entreaty.

"That plonk has really gone to my head, like"

“Wow, that plonk has really gone to my head, like,” she says, “Things have been really topsy-turvy with Auntie Neet lately – and I’m not handling it very well.”

"The signals are a bit mixed"

He has to admit that the signals he is getting from her are a bit mixed and she is sorry about that.

"My head's all over the place these days"

“It’s just that my head’s all over the place these days – but what I do know is that I’m enjoying this – a picnic with you.

Just as Rhys is about to kiss Kelly . . .

Rhys is about to kiss Kelly;

. . . Sioned spoils everything

however, this tender moment is rudely shattered by Sioned, who shouts at them, “Oi!

"What the hell do you think you're doing?"

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?   Youve got a cheek – trespassing on my land after your accusations!

"I took that back"

Kelly alleges that she took that back,

"Did you know I'm stealing from Anita now?"

but Sioned tells Rhys, “Did, you know I’m stealing from Anita now?”

"It was only a nanosecond of doubt!"

Kelly would rather describe it as a nanosecond of doubt – which Sioned jumped upon with all the guns blazing.

"Don't try and get out of it!"

“Don’t try and get out of it – you meant it!”

"You know what they say about leopards and spots!"

“Do you blame me?   You know what they say about leopards and spots!”

"Get out now – and take this stuff with you!"

Sioned orders them to get off her land, now, “And take this stuff with you!”

"It's a tidy little business"

Jinx is at Cysgod y Glyn, where he admits, “It’s a tidy little business, even if I do say so myself.   I’ve put a lot of time and effort into the place – and I’d be very happy to make pizzas for years to come.”

"There has to be a 'but' coming"

“But,” interrupts Garry, “There has to be a ‘but’ coming.”

"The price has to be right"

“Yes, perhaps you’ve given me something to think about – but the price has to be right.”

"I've offered the right price"

Garry maintains that he has offered the right price, £100,000, but then, just because he knows Jinx, he is willing to add another £10,000 on top.

"Then place is worth £140,000 at least!"

That place is worth 140,000 at least!” Jinx protests.

"You don't have a canary's"

“You don’t have a canary’s hope!” exclaims Garry,

"Well, that's what I want!"

and is told by Jinx that is how much it is and that is how much he wants.

"That much for a dump?"

Garry accuses him of having a cheek – asking that much for a dump.

"Why do you want it, then?"

“If it’s such a dump, why do you want it?”

Now Garry accuses him of playing dirty, threatening that this has not even started yet and tells Jinx to go,

Jinx leaves

which he does.

The picnickers are back

Kelly and Rhys run from the alley, carrying the picnic containers, towards number 7;  “Not the most embarrassing moment of my life, but pretty close!” laughs Kelly,

"We go from one disaster to the next"

“You and I go from one disaster to the next, don’t we?”

"At least you turned upon this time"

“Don’t say that,” he tells her, “I enjoyed myself – at least you turned up this time.

"Perhaps we can finish a meal on our next date"

Perhaps we can finish a meal on our next date.”

"Will there be another one?"

“Will there be another one?” Kelly enquires and Rhys thinks that he can risk one.

"This one doesn't have to finish now"

“Well, this one doesn’t have to finish now,” she invites him

She kisses him . . .

and they kiss.

. . . and the go inside

She opens the door and they quickly go inside.

"I want Cassie to serve me"

Ows comes into the Deri once more and wants Cassie to serve him;

"If you don't like it, you can leave"

Kath replies, “Im serving you – if you don’t like it, you can leave.”

"You can't keep ignoring me"

He warns Cassie that she cannot keep ignoring him,

"Keep your voice down"

but is instructed to keep his voice down.   “I want answers,” but again he is told to cool down.

"I don't owe you anything"

Cassie steps forward;  “I don’t owe you anything!”

"You can accept that I exist"

He says that she can accept the fact that he exists at least.   “I have no choice but to accept that – but I can’t accept you coming here and frightening people –

"Stalking, harassing"

“stalking them, harassing them.”

"Whoever heard of stalking their grandmother?"

“Whoever heard of anyone stalking their grandmother?” says Ows, “Ive spent the last six months trying to make sense of who I am.”

"You came here and called me a murderer!"

“And then you came here and called me a murderer!”

"What else am I supposed to think?"

“What else am I supposed to think when you keep ignoring me?”

"I have nothing to say to you"

Once again, Cassie insists that she has nothing to say to him,

"I'm not moving from here"

but he is adamant that he is not moving from that spot until he knows exactly what happened.   She snarls that she does not want him there.

"You killed your own son!"

“Admit what you did!   You killed your own son – you murdered him!”

"Outside Bethania tomorrow at 1:00pm . . ."

“Shut your mouth, will you?   All right – if I talk to you, will you leave me alone?”   Ows nods his head, so she continues, “Meet me outside Bethania chapel on the High Street tomorrow at 1:00pm –

". . . you'll get your answers!"

“and you’ll get your answers!”
