| Loud banging on the door brings Kelly downstairs |
In the middle of the night, there is a banging on the door of number 7 and a voice shouts, “Kell! Tycs! I don’t know where my key is!” Then she apparently finds it as Kelly is hurrying down the stairs to unbolt the door.

| She turns off the alarm |
An alarm sounds, which Kelly quickly turns off.

| "Kelly, you're a lifesaver!" |
Indeg and Siwsi come in; “Kelly, you’re a lifesaver!” Indeg exclaims, but Siwsi is more restrained, apologising for their arrival.

| "What are you doing here?" |
Kelly wants to know why they are there, advising, “That’s Auntie Neet’s new alarm – it goes off when someone opens the door. Anyway, not important – what are you doing here?”

| "We shared a taxi back from Swansea" |
Siwsi offers the explanation that they met at the taxi rank in Swansea and shared a taxi back.

| "And now we're best friends!" |
Indeg, who appears to have had plenty to drink, loudly informs Kelly that they are now best friends. “Indeg said it would be all right to stay here.”

| "That key was for emergencies only!" |
Kelly makes it very clear that the key was for emergencies only and she is supposed to text to let them know, “So we can let Auntie Neet know – routine, remember?
“Auntie Anita is asleep – mind you, probably not now!"

| "What's going on?" |
Right on cue, they see Anita coming downstairs, wanting to know what is going on,

| "Oh, it's Siwsi!" |
but when she sees Siwsi she cheers up considerably.

| "That was a nice evening . . ." |
Having returned home to the shop flat, Eileen remarks that they have had a nice evening;

| ". . . do you know what would make it even better?" |
“Do you know what would make it even better?” Siôn guesses at a black coffee, as she appears to have drunk quite a bit, but she has other ideas.

| "Huwi is sleeping soundly" |
“Huwi is sleeping soundly,” she adds, but he tells her to calm down. She reminds him, “We haven’t for ages – don’t you want to?”

| "I'm trying to be a gentleman" |
He replies that it is not that, but rather that he is trying to be a gentleman, pointing out that she drank a lot more than he did.

| "I'm not drunk, Siôn" |
She resents the inference that she is drunk

| "I don't think you fancy me any more" |
and moans, “Don’t you fancy me at all? I don’t think you do.”

| She sits down, long-faced |
She sits down sulkily on the sofa and he will get her a glass of water and two paracetamol,

predicting, “You’ll thank me in the morning.”

| Sioned is unable to sleep |
Mathew is studying the laptop when he hears Sioned coughing; she comes into the room, carrying a hot water bottle and is surprised to see that he is still up.

| "I might as well finish this" |
He says that he might as well finish this paperwork, rather than lie in bed, thinking.
She asks if he wants to talk about it, but he does not, insisting that he is all right.

“Look, I know Christmas Day was a lot with your mother here – I should have spoken to you before arranging for her to come,” she says.

| "I'm glad you did it" |
Mathew assures her that it is all right and that he is glad she did it;

| He checks her temperature |
he wonders if she still has a temperature, but she says that she is feeling cold, so was hoping that the hot water bottle would help.

He will go and fill it up for her and she should go back to bed.

| Indeg appears to be 'out of it' |
Indeg appears to be in such a state that she is unable to take off her own shoes, so Siwsi does it for her.

Anita finds this performance quite amusing, but Kelly suggests that she can see Siwsi some other time and now it is time for bed.

| "Go and make a cup of tea" |
However, Anita insists that Siwsi and Indeg have come to see her, telling Kelly to go and make a cup of tea.

| "Is there any bread for toast, Kel?" |
Indeg wonders if there is any bread for toast; when Kelly objects to this,

| "And make some toast as well" |
she is reprimanded by Anita who instructs her to go and make some toast.

| "I wanted chicken nuggets from MFC" |
“That would be amazing, Kels – I wanted chicken nuggets from MFC, but it was closed – absolute joke!”
Kelly remarks, “It’s almost 1 o’clock, like,” but Indeg objects to them closing so early.

| "When I come back it's bedtime!" |
“Do you know what? I’m going to get blankets for Indeg and Siwsi to sleep on the sofa, OK?” Kelly decides, then warns Anita, “When I come back, it’s bedtime – for everyone.”
Indeg is still wanting the toast and Anita describes Kelly as a ‘spoilsport’.

Then Indeg asks, “Have you got anything stronger than tea? Anita thinks that she can oblige.

While Eileen sulks on the sofa, Siôn is unable to find any paracetamol in the flat, so she groans that she will be fine.

“Have you forgiven me for Bedwyr?” she enquires and he answers that of course he has,

having told her that several times.

| "We could go away for the weekend . . ." |
Then he suggests they could go away for the weekend, just the two of them;

he is sure that Sioned will be able to look after Huwi-John. “It will be an opportunity to reignite the spark,” he predicts,

| The drink proves too much for Eileen |
By this time, Eileen has fallen asleep.

| Sioned's coughing has woken Jac . . . |
Sioned is back downstairs again, this time carrying Jac; “My coughing woke him and I was worried it might wake Lili,” she says.

| . . . and she has persistent chest pain |
She now has a persistent cough and a pain in her chest, so Mathew will go and get some water. She will make a bottle to settle her son, but then the pain in her chest worsens,

She is urged to sit down and to pass Jac to him;

Sioned is worried that it is the pacemaker causing trouble.

and when Kelly returns with the blankets, she demands what is going on, insisting that party time is over.

Anita will not accept that, stressing that she is going to get a drink for Siwsi.

“Seriously, are you having a laugh, like?” Kelly snarls, but Indeg simply describes it as a little innocent nightcap. “It’s not innocent – Auntie Anita is not supposed to drink –

Anita announces that she has another bottle of Buck’s Fizz after this one.
Kelly angrily points out that Ieuan is trying to sleep upstairs, while Siwsi thinks that it might be a good idea for them to sleep as well.

Indeg notices the keyboard, which she says is cool and Anita suggests that they could have a singalong.

Anita comments, “Here’s Ieuan – he’s been sleeping. Look, Siwsi can play the piano – that’s good, isn’t it?” Siwsi asks what they would like her to play next and Indeg wonder if she knows ‘Hot to Go’.

Ieuan sighs unconvincingly that he would love to hear that one.

Kelly finds this very emotional and a tear comes to her eye.

“Mathew has phoned,” he tells her, “Sioned has chest pains.”

She immediately leaps to the conclusion that it is her heart.

“Mathew wants to take her to the hospital, but you can’t take her – you’re over the limit.”

Eileen insists that Sioned will want her, but is told that she should stay there with Huwi. However, Eileen’s mind is made up that she is going with him, as is Huwi;

Siôn realises that he has, once again been overruled.
Now both Ieuan and Anita are asleep on the sofa; sounds of laughing and giggling can be heard from upstairs,

which Kelly explains is the two girls taking off their make-up in the bathroom.
“Do you know what? They’re quite sober considering they've been out on the pop and then drank Buck’s Fizz.”

Ieuan knows the answer to that, explaining that there is no alcohol in it; he bought it in case Anita wanted to share a glass of fizz with them over Christmas.

“You know, I don’t say this often, but sometimes you can be a genius!” Kelly tells him. As she listens to the noises coming from the bathroom, Kelly continues, “Oh, to be in my 20s again!”

“Thank you, Meic,” she murmurs and he does not make any comment, simply pleased that she is happy.

He tells Anita that it is time for bed now,

“Are you coming to the hospital with me?” Sioned asks Mathew. He answers that there is a taxi on the way and the twins can come with them.

Siôn comes in and reports that Eileen and Huwi are waiting in the car; he remarks that Sioned looks very pale.

Mathew insists that he did not need to come as they have already booked a taxi.
However, Siôn is adamant that he will drive them and,

at that moment, Eileen comes in and takes over, as usual;

Sioned says that she wants her mother to be with her, and asks if Siôn will look after the twins. He will be pleased to do so and Huwi can stay there as well.

Mathew is very anxious that the children stay with him and Sioned,

Kelly is arranging the blankets when Siwsi comes downstairs;

“I don’t know how comfy this is going to be for you, mind,” says Kelly. Siwsi is very grateful for being allowed to stay.

“That’s all right – as long as it doesn’t happen regularly.”
Then Kelly raises the subject of the Buck’s Fizz;

Siwsi is quick to assure her, “It was non-alcoholic – I checked, I promise.

“We do the same at Brynawelon for the people with dementia – mocktail nights and stuff.”

Kelly is very relieved to hear that, “And in Auntie Anita’s words, you're worth your weight in gold.”
Siwsi assures Kelly that she is doing well;

“Sorry, I didn’t mean that to be patronising at all – I just know how difficult it can be, especially for families.”

Kelly appreciates that, then retires to the kitchen,

where Indeg is apologising to her grandfather for waking him. “Well, as long as the key is safe,” he replies and she assures him that it is.

She adds that she just could not face going back to the flat or to her Grandmother’s tonight; “She’s still fuming with me.”

Ieuan accepts that everyone makes mistakes.

When Indeg has left them,

Kelly reminds Ieuan that what Auntie Anita said was a mistake as well;

Mathew has finished making the bottle for Jac and Siôn advises that the taxi has arrived; he reluctantly hands over the bottle to Siôn,

“put him straight in the cot afterwards and he’ll settle.”
Siôn assures him that the children will be fine, as he has done this before, and that everything will be all right with Sioned, so he should not worry.

Ieuan knows that, it is just not easy to hear her call him Meic, “But I’m OK with it. I hold tightly on to those small moments of light, you know? Those moments when I know that she knows who I am.

“And that’s why I bought a load of alcohol-free Buck’s Fizz – in case Anita felt she wanted to drink alcohol with us.”
