Anitas is cuddling the baby

Anita is still nursing the baby when Ieuan returns to the house;  

"Anita – what have you done?"

he is horrified to see her with the baby and at first she does not respond to him.   

"Hiya, Ieuan!"

Then she greets him, “Hiya!” and he demands what she has done.

Sioned informs the police

Outside Yr Antur, Sioned is on the phone to the police;  “Yes, I’m her mother – she was wearing a white babygrow – unless someone has changed her because she was sick or something.   We are at the crèche now.”

Ieuan shouts to them

Suddenly they hear a door open and Ieuan looks out;  

"Lili is missing!"

“DJ, Sioned, I think you’d better come to our house now!” he shouts.   Sioned replies that they cannot, because Lili is missing.   

"She's safe – in here"

He reassures her that the child is safe – at number 7.   

They hurry to number 7

They rush to the house.

Siôn arrives at the prison

Siôn arrives outside the prison, 

Eileen comes strutting out

 Eileen can be seen walking from the door and looking very pleased with herself.   

Her admirer has brought flowers

He welcomes her and presents her with some flowers.

"I couldn't bear to hear her cry"

Anita explains, “The staff weren’t around and I couldn’t bear to hear her cry.”

"Who would do such a thing?"

“Who would do such a thing?” Sioned demands;  

"I sent a text to Eileen"

Anita says that she sent a text to Eileen to tell her.   “What’s wrong with you?   Mam’s in prison!” Sioned yells.

"Tell the police there's been a misunderstanding"

Ieuan urges them to tell the police that there has been a slight  misunderstanding, but Sioned is adamant she will not do that.   “I was trying to comfort her,” pleads Anita, 

"This is kidnapping!"

but is vehemently informed by DJ that it is kidnapping;  she is the one who ought to be in prison.

Sioned wants to know why they should let the matter drop and Ieuan is forced to admit, “Anita is ill.”   

"They need to know, Anita"

He tells Anita that they need to know;  Sioned and DJ look at each other, as he explains further, 

"It's something to do with her mind"

“We think it’s something to do with her mind, her memory – so please, please, phone them back.   

This changes Sioned's attitude

Sioned’s attitude has now changed.

“Being released a fortnight early was a bit of a surprise, then?” says Siôn, 

"I couldn't wait to leave the place"

and Eileen replies that she could not wait to leave the place.   She asks if he has told anyone that she was coming home;  he answers that he has not said a word.   

"Huwi will be at Penrhewl later"

“Huwi is with Elinor and she will be taking him over to Penrhewl later – I thought that bringing him here might be too much.”

"I'm very grateful to you, Siôn"

She is very grateful for his consideration 

"Do you want to go to Y Felin?"

and he asks whether she wants to go to Y Felin, 

"That sounds lovely"

which she says sounds lovely.

“I would never have guessed,” Sioned tells Anita;  

"Nothing has been confirmed yet"

Ieuan points out that they have hardly seen anyone since the honeymoon, stressing that nothing has been confirmed yet.   

"They're not going to investigate further"

DJ has spoken to the police and they are not going to investigate further, about which Ieuan is very pleased.

"If you need anything, please phone"

Sioned and DJ will go now to give Anita a chance to rest, “But if you need anything, please phone.”

Ieuan closes the door

As soon as they have gone, 

"Why did you tell them I'm ill?"

Anita snarls, “Why did you do that?   Tell them that I’m ill?”   

"I had to explain about the hallucinations"

He points out that he had to explain the situation with the hallucinations.

Anita denies that there were any hallucinations;  

"I knew exactly what I was doing"

“I knew exactly what I was doing!”   He was under the impression that she thought the child was Eira, who died as a baby many years ago.   “Why would you think that?” she demands, and he considers that to be the only explanation.

"The little girl needed to be comforted"

“The little girl needed to be comforted – not everything I do is down to this blinkin’ illness!”   

Anita storms off

She picks up her coat and storms out of the house.

"You'd gone to so much trouble"

Gaynor comes downstairs, where Tom is looking at his phone and apologises to him;  “Look, I’m sorry – you’d gone so much trouble.”   

"I've never seen you get angry like that before"

He does not say a word, so she goes on, “I’ve never seen you get angry like that before.”

He tries to convince her he was not angry

He tries to convince her that he was not angry;  “If you thought I was angry . . .”   Nevertheless she confesses that she was ungrateful and is sorry.   

"I just wanted to do something special"

“I just wanted to do something special,” he maintains.   

"Why don't we start again?"

Gaynor suggests that they start again – with a glass of wine, but he invites her to come and sit down.

"Just a little something"

He takes something from his pocket;  “I was intending to give you this after pudding – just a little something to show how much you mean to me.”   

"Oh, it's lovely!"

Gaynor is handed a bracelet, which she says is lovely.   As he puts it on her wrist, 

"To remind us of when we moved in together"

he tells her, “This is to remind us of when we moved in together – and every time we do something special, we can add to it.”

"Oh, thank you, Tom"

She thanks him, but he replies, “I should be thanking you – shall we try again?” 

He kisses her

and they kiss.

Siôn will cook a steak

Now that Siôn and Eileen have arrived at Y Felin, he advises that he has to pop to the shop later, “But if you want to stay for dinner, I’ll cook us a steak.   I was going to take you for a steak the night of the court case.”

"The food in prison was awful"

“I don’t even remember what I had for dinner that night in the end,” she moans, “The food in the prison was awful.”   He tells her that it is nice to have her back and she agrees that it is nice to be back.   

They hug each other

They hug each other.

“How are you feeling about facing the rest of the village?” he asks, 

"I've got nothing to hide"

but she insists that she has nothing to hide.   She knows that not everyone will think that, but he does not have to worry – she is not expecting a big welcome.   

"Shall I open a bottle of wine?"

Siôn proposes opening a bottle of wine, about which she seems quite pleased.

Diane is outside the door . . .

Then there is a knock at the door and Diane’s voice can be heard;  as Siôn does not appear to be happy about opening it, 

. . . and puts an envelope through the letterbox

she slips an envelope through the door for him.

"No-one was hurt"

Sioned is extremely relieved to have both her children back with her;  “You’ve given them a piece of your mind now – and no one was hurt,” DJ comments, 

"Except for poor Anita"

but Sioned reminds him that does not include poor Anita.   

Now she is going to take the twins home, asking whether DJ wants to help to put them to bed.   He says that he would love to, 

"I'd better check on Jason"

but he had better go and check on Jason first.   “Oh right – suit yourself, then,” she grumbles.

Jason sticks a notice to the van

Jason is a fixing a notice to the side of the Fflamingos van, with the heading ‘Cymuned Di-gyffur’ [a Drug-Free Community].   

"The police are around, asking questions"

When DJ approaches, he is asked, “Have you heard about this new campaign?   There must be a drugs problem at the moment – the police are around, asking questions.”

"Questions about who?"

Immediately, DJ is worried, enquiring whether they are asking about anyone in particular.   

"They're not saying"

“Well, if they are, they’re not saying,” is Jason’s reply.   DJ is very anxious that Jason did not mention the package they found in Swansea.   “No – do you think we should?”   

"It's best mot to say anything"

DJ consider it best not to say anything.

"I'm going to the Deri!"

“Right, you can finish sorting the stock and I’m going to the Deri!” Jason tells him, enthusiastically.

"You've got some explaining to do, mate!"

On his way to Fflamingos, DJ has an unpleasant surprise;  Ioan appears and tells him, “You’ve got some explaining to do, mate!”

"I don['t want to be the same Eileen that I was"

Over a glass of wine, Eileen asks Siôn, “Are things all right between us?   Because I don’t want to be the same Eileen I was before going to prison – always fighting for something that wasn’t worth the bother.”   

"Have I upset you?"

Siôn is surprised by this and imagines that he has upset her somehow.

"If you've moved on, just tell me"

“We’re not sitting across a table in prison now – if you’ve moved on, just tell me.”   He is sorry if he has given her that impression, but she complains, “You obviously didn’t want Diane to know I was here.”

"You've been through so much"

He protests, “Not at all – I’m just not sure where your head’s at – you’ve been through so much and I wasn’t sure if you were ready to face someone like Diane.”

"I'm ready for them"

“But I've told you, Siôn, I know people will talk and I’m ready for them,” she insists.  

"You might be the perfect person to help us"

He is pleased about that and urges her not to change, stressing that he has always admired the fire in her belly;  “And you might be the perfect person to help us,” he adds, “With the campaign against the dam.”   

"I'm not sure about that"

She is not sure about that, but Siôn imagines that she must be worried about Penrhewl;   

"Just like Tryweryn!"

“The whole thing is a betrayal – just like Tryweryn! [which he had tattooed on his arm]  Don’t say you’re in favour of it?”

"I can't think about the dam at the moment"

She reminds him that she has just got out of prison and cannot think about this dam at the moment.   He realises that he might have overstepped the mark.

"Id like you to take me back to Penrhewl"

“I’m sorry too, but I’ve lost my appetite now, I’d like you to take me back to Penrhewl, please,” she says, picking up her flowers.

"Have you seen that, Rhys?"

Rhys comes into the Deri, where Jason is sitting by the bar and points out a notice to him, 

Couples evening on St Valentine's Day 

reading, ‘Romantic evening for Couples;  karaoke, buffet and a glass of pink champagne’.   

"Bit insensitive, isn't it?"

He complains, “Bit insensitive, isn’t it?   It more or less says single people like us aren’t welcome.”

"All the single people will be in Ceffyl Du!"

Rhys replies that it does not matter;  “All the single people will be in the Ceffyl Du!   I’m thinking of holding a night in the brewery.”   Jason praises him for setting up in competition with the Deri, 

"It might more sense to have it another day"

but considers that it might make more sense to hold it at another time.

"How about the night before St Valentine's Day?"

Rhys reckons that he could be right;  “I might do it the night before Valentine’s Day.”

"Can I sit down?"

Ieuan has tracked down Anita to the Deri and asks her if he can sit down;   

"Why were you in Yr Antur, anyway?"

“Sorry, I had to tell them – why were you in Yr Antur, anyway?”   

"Everyone thinking I'm 'doo-lally'"

She can see this is how it is going to be from now on – everyone thinking that everything she says or does is ‘doo-lally’.

“I was trying to do a favour, be nice – you saw how Sioned reacted to me – she felt sorry for me.   

"I don't want anyone's sympathy!"

“I don’t want anyone’s sympathy!   I don’t want to look . . . weak.”   

"Shall we have a meal here?"       

Ieuan suggests that they could have a meal there 

"Yes, if you like"

and she reluctantly agrees.

"Are you free for a chat, Jason?"

He goes over to the bar, where he asks Jason if he is free for a chat.

"And you thought I'd taken her?"

Ioan has gone back to Bryntirion with DJ, where he snarls, “And you thought I’d taken her?”   DJ has already apologised 

"I'd never do that!"

and is assured, “I’d never do that!   I’m a father myself – how old is your daughter?”   DJ replies that Lili is just over three months, which Ioan says is ‘cute’.

"If you really want to show how sorry you are . . ."

“Well, if you really want to show me how sorry you are for falsely accusing me, do this job for me.”   

"It's too risky!"

DJ points out that it is too risky, with the police and the council determined to get rid of drugs in the area.

“They’re never going to suspect a bloke like you, are they?” sneers Ioan, just as there is a knock at the door, which DJ discovers is Diane.

"You'll never guess whose voice I heard"

“You’ll never guess whose voice I heard at Y Felin – Eileen,” she announces, much to DJ’s displeasure.   

"She sounded very friendly with Siôn White"

“She’s out of prison – and she sounded very friendly with Siôn White.”   

Then Ioan appears

Ioan appears from the kitchen, and Diane apologises that she did not know DJ had company;  

"Aren't you going to introduce me to your friend"

“Aren’t you going to introduce me to your friend?” she says.   

DJ does not reply

DJ does not immediately answer.

"That was wonderful, better than the Deri . . ."

At Llwyncelyn, Gaynor tells Tom that the meal was wonderful;  “A lot better than the Deri – 

". . . or anywhere else, really"

“or anywhere else really.”   

"I'm pleased to hear it"

He is pleased to hear it.   She finds that the wine bottle is empty, but he is already producing another one, 

He pours her a generous glass

from which he pours her a generous glass, again insisting that they are celebrating moving in together.   

"To the future!"

They drink a toast, “To the future!”

"Please – it would mean so much to her!"

Ieuan is begging Jason, “Please – it would mean so much to her!”   Jason is not bothered one way or the other and in any case he has to ask Mathew, but he agrees to tell Anita.

"Would you like your old job back?"

He goes across to her;  “As I said, I’ll have to check with Mathew first, but, Anita, would you like your old job back at APD – and replace him?”

"What will Ieuan be doing?"

Her first thought is what will Ieuan be doing, 

"I'm sure I shall find something"

but he is sure that he will be able to find something.   Then she asks why they are doing this.   “So that you’re not on your own at home every day,” he answers.

"With your charisma and charm"

Jason insists that she is better behind the counter, dealing with customers, “With your charisma and charm.”   

"Did you tell him what to say?"

Anita realises that is what  he has been told to say by Ieuan.

"I don't care, as long as the work gets done"

Jason does not care who turns up for work tomorrow, as long as the work gets done;  he is also sure that Mathew will be happy.

Sioned is resting in front of the telly . . .

Sioned is exhausted, sitting at Penrhewl, watching the television, when she hears the front door open 

. . . when her mother walks in

and is astonished to see her mother there.   

"What are you doing out?"

“Mam – what are you doing out?” Sioned exclaims, “Why didn’t you say?”

She is told that Siôn brought her mother home.   “You’re not supposed to be out for another fortnight,” but is told that she was released earlier than expected.

"It's been a long day"

“You must have a lot of questions, but it’s been a long day,” says Eileen, 

A less than heart-felt hug

as Sioned, not entirely enthusiastically, hugs her mother.   “I’m glad to be out – is Huwi upstairs?”

"Yes – and the twins"

“Yes – and the twins,” Sioned confirms, 

"I'll go up and see them"

so Eileen will go up and see them.   

She is not radiantly happy"

Sioned looks little short of horrified.

Tom sits on one sofa . . .

Tom is sitting on one sofa, idly watching the television, 

. . . while Gaynor is in a drunken stupor

while Gaynor, who has evidently over-imbibed, dozes on the other sofa.   

"I think I'll go to bed"

She decides that she is going to bed, as she struggles to stand up.   He says that he will follow her when this programme has finished.   She is sure that she will be asleep by the time he comes up;  

"Good night"

he promises to be quiet and she kisses him good night.

Tom has things on his mind

As soon as she has gone, his mind turns to something else;  

Making sure she has gone up . . .

he turns off the television, goes to get his coat 

. . . he creeps out of the house

and quietly leaves the house.

"Fait play to her . . ."

Ioan is still at Bryntirion and comments about Diane’s visit;  “Fair play to her for trying to protect the community and keep the streets clean – 

". . . if she knew the truth . . ."

“if only she knew the truth about her dear little DJ!”

"All right – I'll do it"

He has had the desired effect on DJ, who finally agrees that he will do the job;  “This Tremyrddin food festival.”   

"That's all I wanted to hear"

Ioan gets up, as that is all he wanted to hear and will now leave him in peace – and his family.

"We're all on the same side here"

“We’re all on the same side here,” he tells DJ, “These are the people who are against us!” he stresses, pointing at the leaflet.   

"Make sure you know your facts first!"

“So if you ever accuse me of something like that again, make sure you know your facts first, all right?”

Slumped on the floor of the site office . . .

Tom is in the site office again, sitting on the floor and sobbing piteously;  

. . . Tom is in tears

“I’m sorry, Cheryl,” he whines. 

Eileen has had her bath

Sioned sits on a chair at Penrhewl, with the twins in their cots beside her;  Eileen comes downstairs from her bath and will watch whatever Sioned is watching.   

"I've been watching any old rubbish"

“You’ll regret that – I’ve just been watching any old rubbish,” says Sioned.

Eileen ask how Huwi has been;  she is told that he has been great and has missed his mother.   

"I understand why you wanted to sell"

“Listen, about Tamed – I’m not angry and I understand why you wanted to sell.”   

"Things got on top of me"

Sioned admit that things just got on top of her.   

“And if they do, you have to do what’s right for you,” Eileen agrees, 

"I'm going to sell Penrhewl"

I’m sure you’ll understand that I have to do the same.   I’m going to sell Penrhewl.”   

Sioned is astounded

Sioned cannot believe her ears.
