"Daf please!"

As Dylan continues to shout Daf’s name into the phone, Jaclyn follows him out of the garage,

"I'm not scared of your brother"

but Garry stops her;  “You’re worrying when there’s no need,” he says, “I’m not scared of your brother.”

"Perhaps you should be"

“Perhaps you should be – you don’t know him like I do,” she snarls in reply, “I just hope I can persuade him not to do anything.”

Food parcels are being distributed

Dylan walks along the High Street and sees Jason and Izzy loading boxes into a van;  he says that he lost track of time.   Izzy reprimands him, “This is a joint venture between Yr Antur, the café and Tapas – I’m starting to think you’re only helping to get some publicity for Tapas!”

"I've been driving for weeks"

He responds, “Cyfeillion y Cwm [Friends of the Valley] was my idea, and I’ve been driving for weeks,”

"You can tidy up the kitchen, then, mate!"

so Jason tells him that he can tidy up the kitchen this time.   Dylan asks him, “Can you put in an extra food package for Megan?”

"Not a word to Sara, is it?"

“I’ve noticed that you’ve been showing Megan some favouritism – not a word to Sara, is it?” demands Jason, and as Dylan turns,

Jaclyn ignores Dylan

he comes face to face with his sister, who makes a point of ignoring him as she walks past.

The flat is getting into a state

Up in the shop flat, which is in an extremely untidy state, Mathew, still lounging in his pyjamas, receives a text message which alarms him

Mathew looks outside

and he looks anxiously out of the window.   He puts on his slippers and hurries down to the door of the flat, where Izzy is leaving a box on the doorstep.

He opens the door

As she walks sadly away, the door opens;  seeing Mathew’s attire, she comments,

"I didn't know you were ill"

“I didn’t know you were ill,” and he gives the excuse that hewas in the shower.

Izzy has brought him a meal

“I’ve bought you some food – I was afraid that you were living on Pot Noodles,” she continues, “Have you been busy?”

He says that he has been fighting the local lads on PlayStation, when PCSO Ashurst comes round the corner.   “Watch out, or he’ll take out his measuring tape and arrest you!” Izzy jokes,

"I could arrest you for wearing dodgy pyjamas"

but DJ says that it is more likely to be for wearing dodgy pyjamas on the street.

"Do you fancy a Facetime chat?"

Izzy wonders if Mathew fancies a FaceTime chat later but he is noncommittal and retreats into the flat.

When he sees the meal . . .

When he opens the food parcel he sees a note in there; he looks at himself in the mirror,

"Come on, Pricey, pull yourself together"

sighs and mutters, “Right, come on, Pricey, pull yourself together,” and sticks the message on the bottom of the mirror,

He starts doing some tidying up

then begins clearing up the flat.

Kelly appears to have had troubling news

In the café, Kelly is looking at a sheet of paper when Dylan comes in, growling that DJ can stuff his uniform;  “I’ve got every right to deliver wine at night.”

"The Trivial Pursuit is catching up with me"

Kelly does not appear to be herself, giving the excuse that she supposes the late night Trivial Pursuit sessions are catching up with her.

"You can go up to relax"

“Well, Sara’s with Ifan and Jason is delivering, so I can tidy up here and you can go up to relax, before the rematch tonight.”

"Cheers, Dyl"

She goes upstairs, and Dylan does not look any less troubled.

He does not know what he is going to do

As he stands, wondering what he is going to do, Jaclyn locates him

"Are you going to tell Gerwyn?"

and demands if he is going to tell Gerwyn.   He wonders whether she cares about Gerwyn;  “If you want to put everyone else in danger, carry on!   Garry is just using you to get information about me.”

"You're being paranoid"

She accuses him of being paranoid, but he asks, “Why else would he want you, Jaclyn?   I hope you haven’t told him anything –
"I'm up to my ears in debt to Daf!"

because I’m up to my ears in debt to Daf!   The last thing I need is Garry Monk on my back, too!   And after what happened to Mathew, you should be helping me find cash, not carrying on with him.”

"You – you were the target?"

Jaclyn suddenly realises the truth, “You?   You were the target?   I asked you if you were anything to do with it, and you denied it!”   He says that he did not want to worry her,

"I don't know how I shall get out of this"

and now she can see why he needs her help, because he does not know how he will get out of this.

"Go to the police and tell them everything"

“It’s easy,” she replies, “Go to the police and tell them everything – you’ll get immunity for sending Daf to jail.”   Dylan protests that his life would be over – he would need a new identity and would have to move away.

"Good riddance!"

Her response to this is, “Good riddance!” and she walks out of the café.   His position is now even more difficult, and at that moment his phone sounds;

"Hello Megan"

it is Megan, who thanks him profusely for the extra food parcel, which is her favourite.

Buttering her up, he apologises for not bringing it in person, and she appreciates that he has enough on his plate trying to run a business.

"I'm not sure how log the business will last"

“I’m not sure how long the business will last, to be honest,” he tells her, “It’s cashflow – I’m sorry to say I might have to sell Tapas if I can’t find the money – or a Good Samaritan, who can help me out of a hole.”

"You wouldn't be in a position to . . ?"

As a last resort, he tries asking, “You wouldn’t be in a position to help me, would you?”   She regrets that she only receives a small pension, and he is sorry that he had to ask.

"Things will get better, Dylan"

She encourages him that things will get better, something which he knows not to be true.

The Deri gives him an idea

Now he is really at the end of his tether, and walks out into the street;  he turns to look at the banner across the front of the Deri, realising that there is his last chance.   He walks in that direction.

"I'll arrange a stocktake"

Inside the Deri, Garry is telling Jaclyn on the phone, “I’ve thought of the perfect excuse for us to meet again – I’ll arrange a stock take while Dani is out with the kids.”

"We can't do this, Garry"

Jaclyn, who is sitting on the floor in number 10, next to the washing machine (which is rotating very slowly) stops him there;  “Don’t – we can’t do this.   Sorry, it’s too dangerous – we don’t want anyone to get hurt, do we?”

Garry is stunned . . .

Garry looks stunned by the news, she goes on, “Don’t contact me again – I’ll see you around.”

.  . and Jaclyn is devastated

She ends the call and dissolves into tears.

"I want £5,000 this afternoon"

As Garry sits, dumbfounded, the pub door opens;  after first looking around to check that they are alone, Dylan tells him, “If you don’t want me to tell Dani about you and my sister, I want £5,000 this afternoon.”

"You want me to give you £5,000"

Unimpressed, Garry replies, “You want me to give you £5,000?”   Dylan warns him that if he got divorced, he would lose half of everything, so it is a good deal.

"We've been here before"

Garry calmly reminds him, “Dani and I have been here before.   We’ve both been unfaithful, and we’re still married.”

"Do you really want Jaclyn suffering?"

Dylan next promises he will tell Gerwyn;  “Do you really want to see Jaclyn suffering and upset?”   Garry wonders if he would really do that to his own sister.   “£5,000 – that’s all!” Dylan informs him.

"OK, £5,000 . . ."

After a couple of seconds’ thought, Garry chuckles and says, “OK, £5,000 –

". . . but I'll have to go to the bank"

“but I’ll have to go to the bank.”   Thinking that he has solved his problem, Dylan promises to be back in an hour.

Garry has something up his sleeve

He walks out, and the merest trace of a smile crosses Garry’s face.

"It should be in you account today"

In the café, Dani has just completed an online transfer and informs Kelly, “Right, it should be in your account by the end of the day.”   As she pours herself a cup of coffee, Kelly says she is surprised by how generous everyone has been;

"I hope they are when it's all over"

“I just hope they’re as generous when it’s all over,” Dani comments.

“So how’s the Deri doing?” enquires Kelly, and is told that Garry thinks they can cope for a little while longer.

"It's nice to spend time with Garry"

Dani considers it nice being able to spend time with him instead of being stuck behind the bar serving all day.

"You had a bit of a glint in your eye"

“Dan, you had a bit of a glint in your eye, then,” teases Kelly, and Dani admits that Garry is running a lot and is fitter.

"Fat, divorced or preggers"

Kelly goes on, “Oh aye – watch out!   You’ve seen those memes, haven’t you?   You know, the memes that say everyone will come out of lockdown either fat, divorced or preggers.”   Dani is of the opinion that she will be fat, and Kelly imagines that she will be the same, but happy.

"Can I borrow some baking powder"

Then Mathew comes in and unexpectedly asks, “Can I borrow some baking powder?”   They agree that he will probably end up fat.

Dylan is still hanging around

Daf is walking along the High Street when Dylan approaches him, smiling, and announces, “I’ll have it within the hour – I promise.”

"Thanks, Kelly!"

They watch Mathew come out of the café with the baking powder, and Daf hopes that Dylan is right,

Garry is keeping an eye on them . . .

but in the background Garry is watching them.

. . . then intercepts Daf

He makes sure he intercepts Daf in the back street;  “Daf, isn’t it?   Garry Monk – we met at the garden party in Llwyncelyn, not that I’m one for hobnobbing.

"I hear that you and Dyl do a lot of work"

I hear that you and Dyl do a lot of work together – he speaks very highly of you.   He says you’ve got a good business brain, and that you deal in stuff that doesn’t need a lot of paperwork.

"I want to diversify"

The thing is, I’m looking for an opportunity to diversify – and if you were looking for another partner, I’d be keen to have a chat.”

"I'll keep it in mind, Garry"

Daf confirms that he will keep that in mind, but now has to hurry, as he has a meeting with the tax officer.

Yes, he is definitely planning something

As Garry walks away, his conspiratorial smile is again evident.

"I was on my way to see you"

Mathew meets Izzy in the street and says he was on his way to Penrhewl to see her;

"I thought I'd make pudding"

“Special delivery – well, I got the main course from you, so I thought I’d make pudding.”

A rather unconventional cake

He removes the lid from the cake tin to reveal a rather misshapen cake, and explains, “It was supposed to be a Victoria sponge.   I hope it tastes better than it looks.”

"Just the thing to lift Tesni's spirits"

As he puts down the tin on a nearby windowsill, Jaclyn appears and greets him and jumps to conclusions;  “Oh, Mary Berry’s been busy,” she comments, “Thanks – it’s just the thing to lift Tesni’s spirits,” and takes the cake over to number 10.

Mathew does not want to hurt anyone

Izzy appears rather disappointed by this, but Mathew explains that he does not want to hurt anyone and suggest that perhaps they should try to keep their distance.

Izzy goes away disappointed

She says, unconvincingly, that she understands and walks away.

Dylan is after his money

Dylan returns to the Deri, where Garry is nonchalently leaning on the bar,

"Yes, I've got it"

and confirms that he has the money, advising Dylan not to worry.   He takes an envelope from behind the bar and puts it down,

But before he hands it over . . .

but as Dylan moves forward to grab it, Garry quickly retrieves the envelope.

. . . he wants to know why Dylan needs it

“You can have it on one condition,” stipulates Garry, “Tell me exactly why you need it.   What is this business between you and Daf?”

"A deal is a deal, Garry"

Dylan insists that a deal is deal, but Garry goes on, “Have you been dealing drugs around here?”

"I'll phone Dani and tell her"

Dylan threatens to phone Dani and tell her everything;  Garry encourages him to do so, for in that case he will not get a penny, so the phone is put away.

"Tell the truth, or leave without the envelope"

“You’ve got two options – you tell me the truth, or you leave without the envelope, it’s up to you,” Dylan is told, and is extremely rattled, but he insists that it is not drugs.   Garry demands, “What is it, then?”

"You're not in a position to blackmail me"

“I don’t think you’re in any position to blackmail me, Garry,” Dylan growls,

"OK, then – take it"

so he is permitted to take the envelope, as Garry points out that nothing turns his stomach more than drug dealers.

Dylan quickly seizes the envelope and rushes out of the Deri, soon meeting Daf;

Dylan is full of jubilation . . .

he triumphantly brandishes the envelope and tosses it down on the ground between them.   Checking to make sure no-one is looking,

. . . until Daf looks at the contents

Daf picks it up and immediately discovers it is full of pieces of paper.

"You'll have it in a couple of weeks"

Dylan realises he has been double-crossed by Garry, and once again maintains that he will have it in a couple of days.   Understandably, Daf is losing his patience, and warns Dylan, “You know what that means!

"You'll have to do an insurance job on Tapas"

“It’s too late, there’s only one way out for you – you’ll have to do an insurance job on Tapas.”

The raw materials required

He throws down a bottle of inflammable liquid and a box of matches;  “It serves you right for opening your big mouth to Garry Monk!”   Dylan tries to assure him that he has not told Garry anything.

Jaclyn is putting out the rubbish . . .

Opening the back gate of number 10, Jaclyn is putting the the rubbish in the bin outside

. . . when Garry passes

as Garry passes on his run.

"If you want to do that stocktake . . ."

She concedes, “I was a bit rash earlier, letting Dylan control my life.   I am free tomorrow, if you want to do that stock-take.”

Garry smiles

Garry smiles and continues on his run.

"I'll do anything but that"

Dylan is still trying to persuade Daf to change his mind;  “I’ll do anything but that,” he pleads, “Daf, I’m begging you!”

"Beg properly, then, on your knees"

Daf is enjoying this moment, and instructs him to beg properly;  “Get down on your knees, and you’ll get one more chance.”

Dylan follows orders

Dylan does as he is told and is informed, “You’ve just bought yourself a week –

"The debt's gone up to £10,000"

“and the debt’s gone up from £5,000 to £10,000.   If you let me down again, you’ll get it next time.

Dylan is even deeper in the mire

“Do you understand?”

That little incident was witnessed by PCSO Ashurst

Behind a car, parked over by Bethania, DJ has witnessed this meeting, and then his phone sounds;

"Hey, just calm down, will you?"

“Hey, just calm down, will you?” he says, “Right, I’ll be over now.”
