In the Deri, Ieuan Griffiths is just finishing his lunch and Kath complains that her headache is not shifting; Cassie points out that it is a sign of old age.

Ieuan thanks the ladies for a very nice meal

| "Ladies? We have names, you know" |
and Cassie mutters, “Ladies? We have names, you know.” Kath, on the other hand, rather likes being referred to as a lady, which gives them a bit of class.

| Iolo is loading his van |
Iolo is loading up his van when Cai approaches with a bag; “I’m not going to leave that gym today until I’ve bench-pressed 100k,” he says.
 |
| "Fancy yourself as a gym bunny, do you?" |
Iolo assumes that he fancies himself as one of those gym bunnies.
 |
| "This door is a bit dodgy" |
“Put your bag in the front,” says Iolo, “This door is a bit dodgy.”

| Maya welcomes Delyth |
Delyth comes into the pharmacy and Maya asks if she is having a good morning; Delyth is looking forward to putting her feet up tonight,

| "Can you get some wholegrain mustard?" |
and is requested by Maya to call at the shop on her way home, because she needs some whole-grain mustard for her cooking. It is going to be cheese salad with chicken.

| Delyth notices something outside |
Delyth has just noticed something through the window and hurries out of the pharmacy.
 |
| "He called me 'Ma'am' all night" |
Cassie recalls going to a casino where the guy running the poker table called her ‘Ma’am’ all night; “I felt like an old woman – he was handsome, though.”
 |
| "Can't remember the last time I played poker" |
Kath cannot remember the last time she played poker, that it is suggested that they can have a poker night there tonight.
 |
| "People need more warning than that" |
Kath imagines that people need more warning than that,
 |
| "What else are people doing around here?" |
but Cassie insists, “What else are people doing around here? We can organise it.” Kath doubts that they even have any cards, but there are some hiding under the bar.
 |
| "I have the best poker face in the world . . ." |
“Now, Cassie Morris, let me tell you, I have the best poker face in the world, all right?
 |
| ". . . but I might bluff as well" |
“I’m not going to show you it now, or you’ll know what to look for! But I might bluff as well.”
 |
| "I'm not even in the blooming car!" |
DS Delyth is involved in an argument with Griffiths, whose car is parked outside Tomos ac Ellis; “I’m not even in the blooming car!” he exclaims, but the DS asks him to keep his voice down.

| Iolo and Cai have happened upon this altercation |
Iolo and Cai have just come round the corner and are watching this spectacle with amusement.

| Maya is also watching |
Maya looks out of the door of the pharmacy

| "You can't just stop someone!" |
as Griffiths protests, “You can’t stop someone and insist they do a breathalyser.”
The DS points out that she saw a light on in the office last night and smelled alcohol on his breath.

| "I'm not in the car!" |
He argues that he is not in the car,
 |
| "Think he's over the limit?" |
while Iolo asks Cai if he thinks Griffiths is over the limit. The DS will not dissuaded, but he insists that he breathe into the breathalyser.
“Are you’re going to stop everyone on the street who’s carrying keys?” he demands, and is told that she is, if they smell of alcohol. “I’m going to be late for my meeting now!” he adds, so she threatens that he will be even later if he does not breathe into the device.

| "£5 says he's over the limit" |
Iolo says, “£5 if he’s over the limit,” and Cai accepts the wager.
 |
| Cassie blows the dust off the case |
In the Deri, Kath has found a small case, covered in dust, and enquires how much they should put in tonight.

| "How about a fiver?" |
Cassie suggests a fiver,
 |
| "This isn't Sunday school!" |
but Kath sneers, “Are you serious? This isn’t Sunday school! No, £100 each – raise the stakes a bit.”
 |
| "It had better be fifty!" |
Cassie thinks that she is rather confident and brings it down to £50, or Kath will be asking for a sub by the end of the week. “You haven’t seen my poker face yet,” Kath warns her.

| "Susan Davies is very good" |
Cassie has contacted Susan Davies; “She’s very good, so we’d better practice or we’ll both be skint.
 |
| The DS is disappointed . . . |
They are still being watched as the DS regrets that she has no alternative but to inform Griffiths that he is below the legal limit;

| . . . and Iolo pays up his fiver |
Iolo hands over the requisite £5.
“Can I go to my meeting now?” Griffiths asks, but is advised not to drive; “Why? Because I’m wearing the wrong shoes – or what?” he demands.
“Because you’ve been drinking,” he is told,

| "You just said I'm below the limit" |
so he points out that he is below the limit.
“Can you arrest me if I get into the car now and drive?” he wants to know, “Making a show like this in the street –

| "You've picked the wrong guy!" |
“you picked the wrong guy!” he shouts as she walks away.
 |
| Iolo and Cai are amused |
Iolo and Cai are chuckling at him.
 |
| Cai finds the toolbox padlocked |
Iolo has to go and get something from the deli and meanwhile Cai goes back to the van to do some investigating; he opens the rear door and sees the locked tool box.
 |
| "What's wrong with you?" |
In the pharmacy, Maya snarls at Delyth, “What’s wrong with you? I was watching you from here – throwing your weight about – shouting in the street – you’re acting more like a dictator than a copper!”

| "I was just doing my job" |
Delyth insists that it is her job to make sure that self-righteous idiots do not get behind the wheel and cause an accident. “It’s my duty to keep people safe – he knew exactly what he was doing –

| "Being awkward while his alcohol level dropped" |
“protesting and being awkward while his blood alcohol level dropped.”
 |
| "Hey, slow down, Delyth" |
Her angry rant has left Maya, with her limited knowledge of Welsh, confused, so Delyth marches out of the pharmacy. “We still need mustard for the salad!” Maya shouts after her.

| Cassie comes up with another likely participant |
Cassie has thought of another participant; “If Carys has a sniff of winning money, she’ll be here like a shot!”

| "Dif you give Griffiths alcohol this afternoon?" |
The DS walks in, asking whether they gave Griffiths alcohol this afternoon, knowing he had a car.
“I hope you’re not ignoring these things – drink-driving is a big problem in rural areas,” she lectures them,

| "I'll be keeping a close eye on this place" |
“I’ll be keeping a close eye on this place from now, all right?”
 |
| "Who is she to tell us how to run pub?" |
When the DS has strutted off, Kath snarls, “Who is she to tell us how to run a pub?”
 |
| "She's a real madam!" |
Cassie appreciates that the uniform goes to some people’s heads and calls her ‘a real madam’.
 |
| "How about Adam? He likes a flutter" |
This reminds Kath to invite Adam, who likes a flutter.
 |
| Cai has found a way to get into the toolbox . . . |
Cai appears to have found Iolo’s keys and is opening the toolbox, keeping watch for Iolo’s return;

| . . . and discovers the Diazepam |
he finds the green bag containing the multiple packets of Diazepam.
 |
| He notices the DS . . . |
Then he sees the DS leaving the Deri

and also Iolo with his food from the deli;

| "She's on one today!" |
“Watch out, or you’ll be doing your bench-pressing in jail, Iolo quips, “She’s on one today!”

| "We need to talk about this" |
Cai remarks, “We need to talk about this,” as he displays the green bag, “That I found in your toolbox.”
 |
| Maya encounters more problems with Welsh |
Maya says she needs to cut her fingernails, but apparently uses the incorrect Welsh word; Delyth correct her, “Gewinedd, not Gwyneb,” but both of them sound exactly the same to Maya.

| "Cut your nails, not your face" |
“You want to cut your nails, not your face,” she is told.
“Sorry I was snappy earlier,” Delyth continues
 |
| She has remembered the mustard |
and hands over the whole-grain mustard.
 |
| "Speaking Welsh can be difficult!" |
Cassie has arrived to get some paracetamol, and Maya moans, “Speaking Welsh with your partner can be difficult – very difficult!”
Cassie maintains that sometimes it is easier to practice with friends;

“It takes a village to raise a learner, as they say. I had a friend who learned Welsh,

| "She swore at her husband in English" |
“but she still argued and swore at her husband in English – so don’t be so hard on yourself.

| Cassie is predicting a hangover |
“I’m predicting a hangover,” she adds, thinking of tonight.
 |
| "You've got loads here, Iol!" |
In the van, Cai protests, “You’ve got loads here – a lot more than you get on prescription – this isn’t funny!”

| "Why all the fuss?" |
Iolo cannot understand why he is making such a fuss about it.
 |
| "I'm going to talk to her in the pharmacy" |
“These are strong drugs – I’m going to talk to her in the pharmacy,” he goes on,
 |
| "You're not going to tell anyone!" |
but Iolo instructs him that he is not going to tell anyone. He is asked how many he is taking,
 |
| "One to two – now and again" |
and vaguely replies that it is one or two – now and again.
“It takes the edge off, sometimes – you know.”
 |
| "Have you spoken to anyone about it?" |
Cai asks if he has spoken to someone, but Iolo insists he does not need that, so Cai wonders why he needs something so strong. “Because it helps – now give them back, please!”
 |
| "I can't understand why Maya gave you this many" |
“I can’t understand why Maya gave you this many – where did you get them?” Iolo replies that it doesn’t matter. “If Maya is giving her patients this many, she needs to be reported.”
 |
| "I stop them from the pharmacy" |
“It wasn’t Maya, rages Iolo, “I stole them from the pharmacy – Maya doesn’t know anything! Now, just give them back, please.”
 |
| Dinner time at the pharmacy flat |
Maya serves the meal in the pharmacy flat and again Delyth apologises about earlier; Maya proposes some Netflix tonight. Delyth is sorry that she described the meal in English as ‘lush’,
 |
| "I think we should cut ourselves a bit of slack" |
and is told, “I think we should cut ourselves a bit of slack, don’t you?”
 |
| "Not be the language police" |
“OK, let’s not be the language police tonight,” says Delyth.
 |
| "Taking drugs isn't going to make your problems disappear" |
As they arrive back at Y Felin, Cai is still protesting, “Taking drugs isn’t going to make whatever your problem is disappear.” Iolo reminds him that he is still taking tablets;
 |
| "They help me cope with things" |
“Yes, because they help me cope with things at the moment,” replies Cai.
 |
| "Yes, exactly!" |
 |
| "You're taking these like Smarties" |
whereas Iolo is taking his like Smarties.
 |
| "I need them, OK?" |
“I need them, OK?” shouts Iolo.
 |
| "No, Greta needs you!" |
“No, Greta needs you! You’re not keeping these!” Iolo imagines that he is going to flush them down the toilet.
 |
| "That's not going to work, is it?" |
“That’s not going to work! Dad hid every knife and razor blade from you and that didn’t make anything better, did it?” Iolo demands.
 |
| "You need to face the problem" |
Cai agrees that he is right, but nevertheless Iolo cannot carry on like this; “You need to face the problem.”
 |
| "I need Tyler not to have died!" |
Iolo insists that what he needs is for Tyler not to have died – but that is not going to happen.
 |
| "Is that when the problem started?" |
Just as Cai asks if that is when this problem started, Iolo’s phone, which is on the table, rings and Cai finds that it is the children’s club.
 |
| "They're just tablets, all right?" |
“They’re just tablets, all right? They help me settle – there isn’t a problem,” Iolo insists.
 |
| "Is Greta all right?" |
Cai discovers that the call is about Greta, and asks if she is all right. He agrees to immediately come and collect her.
 |
| "She has a bad stomach . . ." |
“Greta has a bad stomach – they’ve been trying to get hold of you.
 |
| ". . . has she got her hands on these tablets" |
“Has she got her hands on these tablets? You’ve been leaving them around.”
 |
| "I'd never let that happen to her" |
Iolo is adamant that he would not let anything bad happen to her, but Cai emphasises, “You can’t look after her properly if you’re drugged up on these!
 |
| "If you're around your children, don't ruin it!" |
“Iolo, if you’re lucky enough to be around your children, don’t ruin it – it’s very lonely life without them,”
 |
| Iolo is given a hug |
and he gives Iolo a hug.
 |
| "You need help, OK?" |
“You need help – and that’s all right, OK? I know, better than anyone, we all need help from time to time.”
 |
| "You won't tell anyone, will you?" |
Iolo is very anxious that he should not tell anyone about the tablets or the stealing; he promises that he will stop,
 |
| "Greta comes first!" |
and is warned that there is no second chance, because Greta comes first.
 |
| "Right, go and get that little girl" |
“Right, go and get that little girl,” Cai tells him.
 |
| "Do you think we talk too much" |
“Do you think we talk too much?” asks Maya, “I think we use too many words – it’s too much from my brain sometimes.” Delyth suggests that there is something which requires no talking at all, but then the moment is destroyed by someone banging on the door.
 |
| "Who's that at the door?" |
“Open the door – it’s me!” shouts a voice.
 |
| The last one arrives at the Deri |
 |
| "I'm out" |
Cassie cannot make up her mind what to do, then announces that she is ‘out’.
 |
| "There – Royal Flush!" |
Kath maintains that she has a royal flush, but this is disputed by Cassie,
 |
| 'That's just a mish-mash!" |
who vehemently maintains that it is a mishmash of things.
 |
| Suddenly they all spring into action . . . |
Then there is an urgent knocking on the door and all the players spring into action to hide everything –
 |
| . . . and quickly disappear |
including themselves.
 |
| "Are you having a lock-in?" |
Cassie opens the door to discover that it is the Sergeant, who demands whether they are having a lock-in. She notices two glasses on the table;
 |
| "Two landladies who deserve a nightcap" |
“These are for two landladies who have done a hard day’s work and deserve a nightcap before they go to bed.
 |
| "We'll be walking, not driving, up there!" |
“And we’ll be walking, not driving, up there!”
 |
| "I shall be keeping an eye on the two of you" |
The DS decides to say good night, but she advises that she will be keeping an eye on the two of them.
 |
| They all reappear again |
As soon as she has gone, Kath calls everyone out from their hiding places
 |
| "Who on earth does she think she is?" |
and demands, “Who on earth does she think she is?”
 |
| "As I said that's not a Royal Flush!" |
They resume their game, with Cassie pointing out to Kath what a mish-mash of cards she has shown, but Kath simply describes it as a bluff;
 |
| "Told you, didn't I – poker face?" |
“I told you, didn’t I, Cassie – poker face!
 |
| "You've got a lot to learn" |
“You’ve got a lot to learn.”
 |
| Iolo creeps down the stairs . . . |
During the night, Iolo creeps downstairs at Y Felin as quietly as possible
 |
| . . . takes tablets from behind the photo |
and, from behind the photograph of himself with Tyler, takes some more of his hidden tablets.
 |
| They appear to have almost run out . . . |
There only seems to be one of them left
 |
| . . . and he swallows the last one |
and he swallows it.
