The police are appealing for information |
"Are you sure you can't spare a few hours to help your father?" |
"That's more than we can say about your son!" |
Diane assures him that she will help him to find someone,
and he growls, “While you’re at it, you can find cover for Jason as well – he’s spending more time away from work these days.”
"Find some cover for Jason as well!" |
"Is there any more news about Mathew?" |
"DJ's job is to save cats stuck up trees!" |
DJ is disgusted by this comment |
"I can't sleep, knowing there's someone out there" |
"I reckon someone was targeting Mathew" |
Garry is concerned about Guto's state . . . |
. . . and tries to calm him |
DJ will take him home |
Dai groans, “It makes you think, doesn’t it?”
Diane replies that it makes her think that he ought to keep his mouth shut. He maintains that he is worried about Guto;
“Drug gangs, acid attacks – who knows what’s round the corner?”
"Yes – it makes me think you ought to keep your mouth shut!" |
"Drug gangs, acid attacks!" |
Daf watches Guto being escorted along the street . . . |
. . . and into number 10 |
Sara come out of the café |
"I've arranged to view a house at Llanarthur" |
"I shall have to complain that I want a big, black Mercedes!" |
They are under surveillance |
"Guto was upset in the Deri" |
"Wouldn't it be a good idea to visit him?" |
"None of us will be going to see Mathew" |
Then DJ asks how Tesni is coping, and is told, “She doesn’t know – she’s away on a revision course know.”
Guto interrupts, stressing that they do not want her to know what has happened – as it could affect her exams.
"He doesn't want it to affect her exams" |
His father says they do not want to scare her, but DJ predicts that she will find out what happened before her exams.
“It will be less of a shock if Matthew starts to recover,” Gerwyn maintains, but DJ still points out that someone should visit him,
as he is almost like one of the family.
"Someone should visit him . . ." |
". . . he's almost like one of the family" |
"Thanks for bringing him home – but it's none of your business" |
Guto is very disapproving |
"Whisky, please, Garry" |
"You'd rather pay for it here than get it free over there?" |
Nevertheless, he gives it to Dylan ‘on the house’;
“After what happened to Mathew, everybody in the village has to stick together –
“perhaps we could help each other sometimes, when it comes to business,” Garry remarks, cryptically.
"Everybody in the village has to stick together" |
"Perhaps we could help each other out sometimes" |
"Your car's illegally parked" |
"I'm not thinking straight, with all this business about Mathew" |
"Thanks for warning me" |
Garry appears to have saved himself a whisky |
"Do you work out of Carmarthen Central station?" |
As they leave the Deri, Dylan asks, “Do you work out of Carmarthen Central police station?”
and Garry is about to drink the glass of whisky.
No point in that whisky going to waste |
A visitor arrives in Mathew's room |
"It's a bit awkward – we haven't told Tesni" |
Mathew replies that she texted him this morning;
“She didn’t have a signal until then – I haven’t answered – I didn’t know what to say. She obviously didn’t know about the attack.”
"I haven't answered – I didn't know what to say" |
"We want to tell her when she comes back" |
"She won't want to go out with me looking like this!" |
Dylan takes DJ to Tapas |
"I'm starving, if you're offering food" |
"I wasn't expecting to see you until the end of the week" |
“Anyway, a little bird told me you’re not taking our latest agreement seriously,” he adds, explaining to DJ that he is one of Dylan’s suppliers,
and would like to join him at the table;
he asks Dylan for a drink.
"Is it all right if I join you?" |
"Yes, drink coming up" |
"No luck, Diane!" |
"Nefi wen! He doesn't know how to lace up his shoes!" |
He continues, “You never know – Mathew might be back in work next week,”
but Diane tells him not to be so stupid, and not to put pressure on him to come back, either. “What are we going to do, then?
“We had trouble finding cover for Jason when he was gallivanting in Australia! Do you know what?
“I don’t think I want to do this any more!”
"Don't be so stupid, Dai!" |
"When Jason was gallivanting in Australia" |
"I don't think I want to do this any more!" |
Diane urges him not to be so dramatic, but he maintains, “Its playing havoc with my stress levels, worrying all the time, looking for cover every so often –
“I’m telling you, I’d be happy to stop everything, and have someone else run the business.”
"I'd be happy to stop everything" |
"How about John's son, Rhodri?" |
"A cup of tea and a cream horn" |
"Going from one Gastro Pub to another" |
"That's retirement, and it's not as nice as you think" |
"But we could do things together" |
"It's something to think about – but not now" |
"How I supply you with stuff and you distribute it" |
"What is it that you supply?" |
"I've got something to speak to you about" |
DJ is very pleased to have a double helping |
"What are you doing here?" |
"I know you haven't put any houses on the market" |
"Unfortunately, the acid was thrown on the wrong person" |
"So it was you!" |
"I wouldn't have made a mistake!" |
"So I was the target" |
"I'll go through your family, one by one" |
Dylan appears to be in rather a large hole |
"I never thought I'd be so grateful to Chris Jones" |
"Jason will be over the moon to take over APD" |
"Hang on – I've got a son as well" |
“I don’t think DJ would be very happy farming and selling chips for the rest of his life,” he says.
Diane does not think that DJ would want to be a builder,
but Dai insists he could do the selling and supervising, as Jason hates paperwork,
and believes that he has now persuaded Diane to be ‘on board’ with this retirement business.
"DJ wouldn't want to be a builder" |
"He can do the selling and supervising" |
"Are you 'on board' with the idea?" |
"I'm 'on board' with looking into the possibility" |
"On the beach with a jug of Sangria" |
"We can be very proud of that" |
"But we won't tell them anything yet" |
Dai gets stuck into the cream horn |
"Why haven't you reopened the garage?" |
"I went to see Mathew" |
"Everyone gets what they deserve" |
"We'll forget about the garage for today" |
Dylan is desperate for some quick cash |
Sara is not happy, as the house viewing did not happen |
"Sorry – I was with Jaclyn" |
"You told me that Ifan and I are your priorities now!" |
"I've been a pushover for too long!" |
He wonders if she is saying she does not want them to be together;
“If that’s how you feel – fine!” he tells her, and leaves the flat.
"If that's how you feel – fine!" |
"Did you arrest him for crimes against hairstyles?" |
"Listen here, Starsky!" |
"He was only parked illegally" |
"Don't say you took part in some police brutality?" |
"Don't say you took part in some police brutality?" |
DJ advises that Dylan took him to Tapas and gave him some free food, but looking back, it could be construed as a bribe.
His father tells him not to be so silly, as it is voluntary work; “And bobbies have been doing that for years – perks of the job!”
"Bobbies have been doing that for years – perks of the job!" |
"I've let myself down!" |
"Listen – not a word to Diane or Jason" |
"We're giving APD to you and Jason" |
DJ cannot believe it . . . |
. . . but is assured that it is true |
Sara has collected Ifan from Elinor's |
"Sorry for overreacting earlier" |
"We'll go and look for a house tomorrow" |
Dylan is obviously looking out for something |
"Dylan's told me a lot about you" |
"I'll have £75,000 for you by tomorrow night . . ." |
". . . then we'll be quits!" |
"I think another £50,000 should cover it" |
Daf informs him that it is not quite as easy as that; “A lot of people have missed out on wages because you lost the drugs – I think another £50,000 should cover it.”
Dylan laughs, not believing that he is serious,
but Daf chillingly replies, “I am – look after that little family of yours,” and walks away,
leaving Dylan in another awkward situation.
"You're not serious?" |
"Look after that little family of yours" |
How will Dylan extricate himself from this? |
