“That’s what you tell yourself, is it?” she sneers.
![]() |
"That's one of the possible scenarios" |
He explains that is one of the possible scenarios, but can think of several others if he has to. “You really think you can get away with everything, don’t you?” she snarls, but he does not want to argue with her about the past.

. . . then admits she was pulling his leg |
until she assures him, “I’m only pulling your leg!”

Then Cassie comes up with the idea of a hypnotherapist, who might help her to remember; “Listen – I had a friend who was hit by a car and she needed to remember the details of this vehicle, but she couldn’t remember anything. She went to a hypnotherapist and he took her back to what happened –
![]() |
"She remembered everything" |
“and she remembered everything.”
![]() |
Ffion is attracted by this idea |
Ffion finds this quite interesting, but Gaynor wonders if it really works. Cassie does not know but considers it to be worth trying.
![]() |
"So this is where you've been enjoying yourself" |
Then the proceedings are interrupted by the arrival of Tom, who growls, “So this is where you’ve been enjoying yourself – I’ve been looking everywhere for you. Ffion, how are you?”

"I feel a lot better after that chat" |
She replies that she feels a lot better after the chat she has just had;

Cassie will ask her friend about that phone number and Ffion hopes that it will help with her memory.
![]() |
"Shall we go home for lunch?" |
Tom suggests that they should go home for lunch and Gaynor, as usual, acquiesces to this.
![]() |
Cassie is even more suspicious |
It is obvious that Cassie has not lost any of her intense suspicion of him.
![]() |
Malcolm talks to the police |
Malcolm is now speaking to the police; “No, I don’t think it was his intention to kidnap me now – I was mistaken –
no, I don’t intend to give evidence. Thanks again, bye.”

Dani has been watching this and is told that she can delete the recording now.

![]() |
"You're not sacking me, are you?" |
“You’re not sacking me, are you?” anxiously asks Ieuan and he is told that no one is being sacked.
![]() |
"I think she could do with a hand in the shop" |
“But I do think she could do with a hand in the shop from now on,” he continues, so Ieuan assumes that something has happened.
![]() |
"I found her sleeping on the counter" |
“I came back from Hendy [near Pontarddulais] and Anita was sleeping on the counter.”
![]() |

![]() |
"Can't you wait for a little longer?" |
“Can’t you wait a bit longer before advertising?” Ieuan pleads,
![]() |
"It's nothing personal" |
but is told that it is a business decision and nothing personal. “Well, just let me tell her, will you?”
![]() |
"I need to advertise pretty soon" |
Mathew explains that he will need to advertise pretty soon.
![]() |
"I was surprised to see Ffion this morning" |
At Llwyncelyn, Gaynor tells Tom that she was surprised to see Ffion in the village this morning; “It’s the first time she’s been out since the attack, apparently, but she’s still suffering. She can’t move on, which is completely natural, because she can’t remember what happened.
![]() |
"Cassie suggested a hypnotherapist" |
“Cassie suggested that she should see a hypnotherapist, to try and remember what happened to her.”
![]() |
"Things like that don't work" |
Tom maintains that things like that do not work, but Gaynor has been given to understand that it can unlock memories.
![]() |
"That's just Cassie and her stories" |
“That’s just Cassie and her stories,” he comments and Gaynor agrees that he may be right
![]() |
"I was thinking about going away this weekend" |

He stresses that is not his fault and she says that she just wanted to do something nice for him. “Are you sure?
![]() |

“Because it feels like you’re happy to spend a weekend with me, but you don’t want to spend the rest of your life with me.”
![]() |
"Right, I'm going to the site" |
Then he gets up and announces that he is going to the site.

![]() |
Dan comes in |
Dani comes in and he gives her the good news that the police have called to say that they are dropping the case, so Dani expresses surprise.
![]() |
"That Malcolm picked on the wrong bloke!" |
“That Malcolm picked on the wrong bloke!” Howard boasts.
![]() |
"Promise you won't do anything silly like that again!" |
“But now you’re off the hook, promise me you won’t do anything silly like that again!” she reprimands him.
![]() |
"I was worried about you, Dani" |
He protests that he was worried about her, which she knows and appreciates it;
![]() |
"Let's make a list of potential stalkers" |
“But if you really want to help, let’s make a list of potential stalkers.”
![]() |
"We should leave that to the police" |
Howard would rather leave that to the police, but Dani is insistent that she cannot, after receiving that message. “You’re letting them win by doing that,” he argues, but she says that she cannot take the risk.
![]() |
"Mathew was so happy with me" |
Elsewhere in the Deri, Anita is telling Ieuan, “Mathew was so happy with me for sorting out your mess with the paint that he sent me home for the rest of the day.
![]() |
"Mathew's going to advertise a job" |
replies that they are very lucky to have her working at APD, adding as an aside, “Did you hear the news? Mathew’s going to advertise a job – everything’s so busy these days.
![]() |
"Another pair of hands would be a big help" |
“Having another pair of hands would be a big help to us.”
![]() |
"He didn't say anything to me . . ." |
Anita regards it as odd that he did not say anything to her about it; “Especially as I’m the office manager –
![]() |
". . . but it's probably a labourer . . ." |
“I know why – he probably needs a pair of hands to do the labouring
![]() |
". . . and that's nothing to do with me" |
“and that’s nothing to do with me, is it?”
![]() |
Jinx is cleaning up outside |
Outside The Pizza Place, Jinx is surprised to see Ffion,
![]() |

who seems in a very good mood. She tells him that she has been for a long nap this afternoon and is feeling much better.
![]() |
"It's nice to feel normal again" |
“It’s nice to feel normal again.”
He apologises that he had no right to say that she could not go for a walk this morning, but he just wants her to be all right again.
As Tom is watching from a distance, she advises that she has found something which might help.
![]() |
Does Tom ever do any work at the dam site? |
“Cassie has given me the number of a hypnotherapist to help me remember more about the soil,” she goes on,
![]() |
He always seems to be snooping in the village |
as Tom is taking a keen interest.
![]() |
"How much will that cost you?" |
wants to know how much that will cost her,
![]() |
"That's none of your business!" |
so she tells him that is none of his business.
![]() |
"You're just getting obsessed" |
He adds, “You’re just getting obsessed with the whole thing – of course I want you to remember.”
![]() |
"You should be supporting me, then" |
She snarls that he should be supporting her, in that case,
![]() |
Off she goes . . . |
then walks away.
![]() |
. . . and is soon intercepted by Tom |
Tom hurries so that he can intercept Ffion near Bethania, then apologises for startling her; “Do you fancy a coffee in Tamed?”
![]() |
"Sorry, I'm not in the mood" |
She turns down the offer as she is feeling rather tired and is not in the mood; she thinks that she has rather overdone it today.
![]() |
"Perhaps you could cook me another meal" |
However she suggests that he could come over tomorrow; “Perhaps you could cook me another meal – I was quite impressed with the last meal you made.”
![]() |
"What do you fancy?" |
Tom asks what she fancies and she would like it to be a surprise; she will see him tomorrow.
![]() |
Ffion walks away . . . |
As she walks away and Tom looks at his phone,
![]() |
. . . but Jinx is keeping his eye on Tom |
he is being carefully watched by Jinx, who wonders what is going on.
