Kelly is feeling very sorry for herself

Kelly is lying on the sofa, looking at her phone, when there is a knock at the door and Jason answers it.

Jason is ready for work

It is Anita and she is informed that Kelly is refusing to go to work.   Jason puts on his boots, ready to leave the house.

"The Cwmderi Crippen!"

“Have you seen what they’re calling me on social media?” Kelly groans, “The Cwmderi Crippen!”

"What's a 'Crippen'?"

Jason asks what is a ‘Crippen’, and it is explained, “Dr Crippen, the famous poisoner, isn’t it?   He was hanged for murdering his wife – “I really don’t want to see anyone today!”

"Hiding here won't stop them"

Anita reminds her that people are going to talk and hiding there will not stop them;  Jason adds that she has to face people or or sooner or later.

"I hate myself!"

“Everyone hates me – I hate myself!” rages Kelly.

Anita tells her to stop this behaviour now;  “Listen, you have to take control of this situation – let them talk!”

"Sorry for rushing off last week"

As a customer leaves the pharmacy, Sioned comes hurrying in;  “Listen, I’m sorry for rushing off last week.”

"There's no need to apologise"

Maya replies that there is no need to apologise.   Sioned continues, “Things just got too much for me –

"Are you free for a chat?"

are you free for a chat?”

They think it best to go into the back room and Maya will close the pharmacy for a while.

Maya is about to lock the door

However, before she can shut the door, DJ comes in and confronts her,

"Sioned and I – we're in a good place . . ."

“Sioned and I, we’re in a good place – our relationship.   We’re trying for a baby –

". . . and I'm not going to let anyone ruin that"

“and I’m not going to let anyone or anything ruin that.”

"Is there something you're trying to say?"

asks if there is something he is trying to say,

"Er, pregnancy tests"

so he changes the subject and asks for two pregnancy tests,

"Yes, it's very exciting"

for which she charges him £16.98.   “I hear that you’re engaged, too,” DJ adds, which Maya says is very exciting and he congratulates her,

"I hope you'll be as happy as Sioned and I are"

“I hope you’ll be as happy as Sioned and I are,” he comments as he leaves.

"He knows"

Sioned reappears from the back room;  she and Maya look at each other;  “He knows,” Maya points out.

"Why are you having your breakfast here?"

Griffiths is sitting in the Deri, working on some figures;  Anita finds him and reprimands him for having his breakfast there.

"I've got some urgent matters to deal with"

He maintains that he had a few urgent matters to deal with, and she recalls that he did not sleep very well last night;  “You were tossing and turning –

"Not worried about this nonsense with the council, are you?"

“you’re not worried about this nonsense with the council, are you?   Don’t lose any sleep over Hywel Llywelyn and those other traitors.   The tide is bound to turn for them, you’ll see.”

Ieuan fears the worst

He is afraid that this is unlikely to happen

"I have to go, Anita"

and tells Anita that he has to go.

Rhys is in the deli and asks DJ to add a ‘manchego’ to his order;  [a cheese made in the La Mancha region of Spain from the milk of sheep of the Manchega breed]

Rhys has a new girlfriend

he shows a photo on his phone to DJ, commenting, “She’s nice, isn’t she?” but DJ does not make much comment, except that she is very pretty.

"Long distance relationships never work"

“She lives in Cardiff – I’m not keen on long distance relationships – they never work,” Rhys goes on,

Rhys pays £4.50

as DJ charges him £4.50.

“Are you ready to settle down, then?” asks DJ and is told that if Rhys found the right person, perhaps he might.

"Good luck with that!"

“Good luck with that!” sneers DJ and Rhys remarks that not everyone is as lucky as him and Sioned, who have found each other and settled down.

"That doesn't guarantee anything"

“Yeah, well, that doesn’t guarantee anything,” DJ groans,

"Eileen was stirring, perhaps"

“It’s just – Eileen was stirring, perhaps.

"Don't repeat this to anyone" — famous last words

“Don’t repeat this to anyone, all right?   Eileen said she saw Sioned kissing somebody else.”

"Who was it?"

Rhys immediately want to know who it was

"Maya!"

and is told, “Maya.”

"What are we going to do?"

In the pharmacy, Maya asks what they are going to do,

"There's no way he could have known"

but Sioned is convinced that there is no way DJ could have known.   “What if your Mam has told him?”   Sioned replies that she would not do that.

"What are we doing?"

“We can’t carry on like this – people are going to get hurt.   I mean, what’s going on with us?   What are we doing?”

"We have to stop"

Sioned agrees that they have to stop it.

They have given up with Kelly . . .

As they sit in the Deri, waiting for Kelly, Rhys maintains that she is not coming,

. . . but then she appears

but that moment they hear footsteps and Kelly approaches, apologising for her lateness.

"I'm surprised you left the house!"

“I’m surprised you’ve left the house!” snarls Rhys, but is told to stop that by Griffiths,

Ieuan has an orange juice for Kelly

who has an orange juice waiting for her.

Ieuan has called an urgent meeting

“Right, I know you’ve got another matter to sort out, but that’s not the reason I called you here for an urgent meeting.”   Rhys wonders why it is in the pub and not at work;

"Because I needed something to drink"

he is told, “Because I needed something to drink.”

"The smell of whisky won't impress the clients"

Rhys does not think that the smell of whisky will impress the clients;

"The situation is very fragile

“While we have clients,” answers Griffiths, “The situation with Tomos ac Ellis is very fragile – last week I lied.”

"You're not cutting my pay?"

Rhys is concerned that his pay is going to be cut

One of them might have to go

and Griffiths replies that he might have to let one of them go.   “I’m doing everything I can to rescue the situation,

"Don't tell Anita – yet"

“but in the meantime I’m asking you to carry on as normal, please – and don’t tell Anita – not yet.   I don’t want to worry her until it’s necessary.”

"I thought we were doing well"

Rhys was under the impression that they were doing well and it is explained that mortgage prices are high, which has slowed to the market, and there are new estate agents in the area.

Kelly is in tears . . .

Kelly, who has said nothing, is in tears by this stage,

. . . and leaves them

then gets up and walks out.

"As if crying will help!"

“As if crying will help!” sneers Rhys.

"I was thinking of doing the same thing!"

Griffiths confesses, “To be honest, I was thinking of doing the same thing!”

Kelly walks along the street . . .

Kelly walks along the street past the pharmacy

. . . and Jinx is concerned about her

and as she sits down on the bench by the alley, Jinx comes across the road;  “Hey, are you all right?” he asks.

"I know I deserve this, Jinx"

“I know I deserve this, Jinx, but it’s still difficult – the police haven’t been, but it’s only a matter of time.

"I didn't know how I was going to leave the house"

“I didn’t know how I was going to leave the house this morning.”

He says that the sooner she faces people, the better and assures her that she will get through this, like the other difficult times she has faced.

"You're stronger than you think, Kelly"

“You’re stronger than you think,” but she sighs that she is exhausted.   “Come on – this isn’t the Kelly I know,” he says.

"All the things men have done to me . . ."

“You know, I think about all the things men have done to me in my life –

". . . and now I'm in the wrong"

“and now I’m in the wrong,” she sobs.

"Now is your opportunity to make it right"

Jinx points out now that everyone knows, it is an opportunity to make it right;  “How you respond in a situation like this is important, all right?

"Do what those men didn't do"

“Do what those men didn’t do – take responsibility for what you’ve done – at least you can move on then.”

"You talk so much sense, Jinx"

Kelly realises that he talks so much sense,

Someone else has arrived

and as he takes her hand Dani happens to be passing

"Is everything OK?"

and asks if everything is OK.

Jinx is lost for words

Kelly picks up her bag and quickly leaves, as Dani looks at Jinx

"Seriously?"

and mutters, “Seriously?” before walking away.

"Are you all right, love?"

Behind the bar in the Deri, Kath is speaking on the phone, “Are you all right, love?   Are you worried about something?   OK, if you say so.

"Phone me later, then"

“Phone me later, then.”

Dani comes in and asks for a cup of coffee;  Kath is concerned that Brynmor was having some trouble on the phone just now.

"He said he was in his room"

“He said he was in his room but I could hear noises, as if he was outside.”

"He might be lying "

Dani suggests that he could be lying about his location;

"It must have been a dodgy signal"

“No, it must have been a dodgy signal,” says Kath, but Dani still maintains that he might be hiding something from her –

"Men are good at hiding things"

“men are good at that.

“They make you think they care – but they only care about themselves,” she tells Kath,

"Brynmor's not like that"

who replies that Brynmor is not like that.

"I didn't think Jinx was like that, either"

“I didn’t think Jinx was like that, either,” Dani snaps, and then tells Kath to ignore her.

“The problem we have is that we’re always on the phone or Skype –

"If I was out there, things would be fine"

“if I was out there with him, everything would be fine,” complains Kath.   She is advised to go out there, in that case.

Rhys is looking at some papers

Rhys is looking at some papers in the shop flat when he hears footsteps and Kelly appears;

"I know I'm the last person you want to see"

“I know I’m the last person you want to see.   I’m so sorry for what I’ve done.”

"What are you apologising for?"

He wants to know which part she is apologising for;  “Drowning me or letting me take the blame?”

"Everything – I'm sorry"

She is sorry for everything, but he continues, “Do you have any idea what you’ve put me through?   Obviously not – I don’t know how many people have looked at me differently since I was accused of ‘spiking’!

"Mud like that sticks, Kelly!"

“Mud like that sticks, Kelly!   I know you’ve had your problems, but we’ve all had our share – and you saw how much this affected me when Cheryl accused me.”

"I do know, Rhys"

Kelly weeps, confirming that she does indeed know.   “And I can’t get my head around the fact that you saw me suffering and you didn’t do anything about it –

"I thought we were mates"

“I thought we were mates.”

"I'm going to sort everything"

“I wouldn’t blame you if you phone the cops – and as for your reputation, I’m going to sort everything,” Kelly promises.

He sits down at the table . . .

As he sits down at the table,

. . . and Kelly leaves

Kelly turns and leaves the flat.

There is a bag outside number 9

When Jinx comes along the road from the Pizza Place, he finds a bag outside the door of number 9;

He knocks on the door of number 7

he knocks on the door of number 7 and shouts for Dani;

"Dani, can we just talk about this?"

“Can we just talk about this?”

"How did it go at work?"

Jason returns home from work to find Kelly using the laptop;  he asks how it went at work, but she does not reply.   When he looks to see what she is doing,

"I've written a statement"

she informs him, “I’ve written a statement – my truth, sort of thing, on Facebook, just explaining everything about the ‘spiking’.”

"Why on earth would you do that?"

He wonders why on earth she would do that;  “Confessing publicly on Facebook?”

"I've already posted it"

She replies that it is too late, as she has already posted it.

“I can’t carry on without taking responsibility for what I did – so it’s here if you want to read it.”

Jason reads what she has written

Jason does sit down to read it.

Mathew alerts Rhys about the Facebook message . . .

Mathew has phoned Rhys to alert him to the Facebook post;

. . . and he reads it

he reads it with some surprise.

"You really have confessed to everything"

Back at Bryntirion, Kelly asks, “So?”   Jason can see that she really has confessed to everything.

"I hope Rhys will have closure now"

“I hope Rhys will have closure now,” she says, “I had to do this, Jase, because I’ve been selfish and scared – and if I hadn’t done it, I would have lowered myself to the same level as all those men who mistreated me –

"I'm better than that!"

“and I’m better than that!”

"You certainly are, Kelly"

Jason confirms that she is.

"Dinner will be ready in an hour . . ."

DJ comes into the farmhouse kitchen just as Sioned is putting on the dinner;  she advises that it will be ready in an hour

". . . do you fancy a glass of wine?"

and asks if he fancies a glass of wine.   DJ wonders what he has done to deserve this

"Just to show some appreciation"

and she says that she wants to show some appreciation.

"I bought these pregnancy tests"

“I went to the chemist today and bought these,” he says, producing the pregnancy tests, which she regards as a good idea;  “And I congratulated Maya – have you heard the news about her and Delyth?”   Sioned replies that it is lovely news.

"Why don't we make one of those tests positive?"

“Food isn’t going to be ready for a while, so why don’t we make one of these tests positive?” she suggests,

"Come on"

“Come on.”

"I read what you put on Facebook"

In the darkness, Rhys has visited Kelly at Bryntirion;  “I read what you put on Facebook,” he says

"I hope people will stop blaming you now"

and Kelly hopes that people will stop blaming him, now that everything is out there in black and white.

He agrees that it is a step in the right direction, but she is sorry that she did not do it ages ago;

"You can take it as evidence to the police"

“You can take it as evidence to the police now.”   He replies that he is not going to the police and does not think that they will charge her unless he or Cheryl want to press charges.

"I don't want to drag this out any further"

“I don’t want to drag this out any further – it’s taken up far too much time already.

He has some plans for Tomos ac Ellis

“I want to focus on the future – and it doesn’t look very bright at the moment with Tomos ac Ellis in trouble.   I think we need to remarket some of the houses we’ve got –

"New photos, virtual tours"

“take new photos, virtual tours, rewrite the descriptions.   I’ve made a list of the houses that need new photographs –

"You could take those"

“why don’t I take these and you can take those over there?”

"Deri Fawr – that's fine"

She notices that one of them on the list is Deri Fawr and is prepared to go there again;  Rhys will send the list to her.

"Rhys . . ."

As he is about to go,

". . . thank you"

Kelly thanks him.

Someone has come into the Deri flat

As Kath is sitting in front of her laptop, someone creeps into the Deri flat;

Kath is looking at flights

it is Brynmor and he can see that she is looking at flights to America.

"Why do you want to go to New York?"

“Why do you want to go to New York when I’m here?” he demands.

"I wanted to give you a surprise"

Kath is astounded to see him and he says he wanted to give her another surprise.

"You're becoming an expert at that!"

She complains that he is becoming an expert at that.   He describes her as beautiful and gives her another hug.

“Whoa now – when you were on the phone earlier . . .” she begins and he admits that he was at the airport.   “I knew that something was wrong.”

"I had someone with me"

He was desperate to tell her something, but he had someone with him who wanted it to remain a surprise.

Here is Eleri at last

He calls to Eleri, she walks into the flat and greets Kath;

"It's nice to meet you face-to-face"

“It’s nice to meet you face-to-face at last.   Dad, I can’t believe this place –

"It's nothing like what I expected"

“it’s nothing like I expected.”

She does not seem to appreciate hugging . . .

Kath says that it is great to see her and goes to give her a hug, but it appears that Eleri backs away from her.

. . . but Brynmor is very happy

Brynmor is smiling happily.
